Between Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter and wherever else people are getting their news, it's become virtually impossible to miss the viral stories of the day. But what about what else is happening in the vast expanse of the web? How do find the things the rest of the world isn't looking at? 

Don't worry, today we're helping you stay ahead of (or really, behind) the curve. There's some really weird, really pointless stuff out there, and we've dug up the worst/best of it. Here are the things that can be found quietly not going viral.

The question that we really want ask on Yahoo Answers is, why is there so much astounding stupidity on Yahoo Answers? Okay, we love crowd sourcing information as much as the next person, and probably 90% of the questions on there are totally legit, but some of these… it's like staring into the abyss and the abyss stares back.

It's hard to imagine there was a time before the internet. Like, was there? Was there really?

It's almost easier (and definitely more amusing) to imagine our distant ancestors texting, e-mailing, and IMing their way through history. In that case, they would have needed their own set of handy acronyms.
