Okay, so, in The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals all the songs are diegetic. The one exception to this is the opening song, which happens before the meteor lands.

HOWEVER! In the remount, during the opening number, Emma is dressed in her outfit from the end of the show. This is weird because you would think she would be in her work outfit, as that's what she appears in first, so Lauren wouldn't have to change/get her hair done.

My theory/headcanon/whatever is that the opening number is actually being performed in universe at the end of the story, after Emma get dragged away to be infected. That would also explain how it references some of the songs that happen later, including Show Stoppin Number which Hidgens wrote before he gets infected.

Pokey just wanted an opening song so when he showed this universe off to the other lords he could make them sit through an actual musical.

A Pokemon only counts for itself, not its evolution line.

A Pokemon with multiple forms (like Zygarde) will only be counted for the specified form. A Pokemon with multiple appearances (like Spinda, Vivillon, Sylvally, etc.) count for all their appearances.

I'm literally doing this as a testament to my own depression that not everyone is lovable, so add that to the weight of this post's meaning.

i wasn’t manifesting anything, i was literally analysing the cinematography, the blocking, the colour theory, the narrative beats, all the stuff i was trained to look for during my TV degree. the signs were there because the show put them there.

the duffers absolutely queer baited the audience. everything I learned academically about visual storytelling was pointing toward a byler slow burn, and then they completely abandoned their own setup. we didn’t hallucinate subtext; we didn’t “make up” a ship. they built it, then pretended they didn’t, and the result reeks of homophobia.

they didn’t subvert expectations, they ignored their own narrative groundwork. that’s not clever writing, that’s just bad writing. they tore down a storyline they spent years constructing, and now the overall story makes zero sense.
