[Guide's eyes slowly blink open. He hears trees rustling lightly outside as the wind blows through them. He feels cold, hard wood underneath his palms. Is...is it really over now?]
[A small puddle of tears lies where his head rested on the floor. He wipes it with his sleeve as he breathes. In and out. In and out. His body functions feel foreign to him. He tries to stand up, only to stumble and fall over the other way, back hitting the frame of his bed.]
[The dense fog of fear slowly lifts from his mind as he takes in his surroundings. What...does he do now, exactly? He can't just keep going about his day like nothing happened. He'll just have to go for a walk, he supposes. Maybe talk with some people. Get his mind off of things.]
[...Not only that, his head feels...strange. Not pain (though he does feel a headache coming on), but...full. Something is taking up space in his mind.]
[He feels acutely aware of the Flood Sword's position in the room. Laying on the table, just next to the door. He doesn't even need to turn to check.]
For being such a good subject, how about I reward you?
[...of course. Of course THIS is his reward. some kind of facsimile of the connection, just handed to him on a silver platter, after all the time he spend researching it with....with....Crazy...]
[He sighs deeply. He's too worn out from everything that's happened to stay mad at something like this. The longer he thinks about it, the stronger a sense of childlike glee gets within him. Belting out a cheesy one-liner, he raises his hand above his head and tries to will the sword to move towards him.]
[He realizes that's not the right way to put it when, almost immediately, the sword loses it's form and the water that apparently made it up moves to his hand instead.]
[He doesn't even have to close his hand over the sword to keep it in the air. He feels a strain on his brain in doing so, similar to the strain in his muscles as he keeps his hand in the air, but that doen't matter because he can move the fucking water with his MIND?? THATS SO COOL??]
[He can move it around, he can make funny shapes with it, he can even condense it into ice and back! He can only control as much water as is necessary to make the Flood Sword at one time, but it's still the best possible distraction he could have asked for (even if it came straight from the beast that made him need that distraction in the first place). He's going to have some great new party tricks to show the others once he heads out to find them!]
