yes i am eating a subway sandwich for breakfast. yes. ladies calm down haha i can share if youd like
the ladies are 300 rats that follow me around
They’re all ladies? That seems statistically improbable.
im a feminist
let’s be real the pressure to use AI as an adult is exactly what they said the pressure the do drugs as a teenager would be like but the people that told us that caved immediately for the AI and definitely did not just say no
Headcannon that Ko has a mild fruit alergy to a lot of stuff but it never really regestered to her so she just thinks that most fruit is a lil spicy. and no one else ever clocks it untill she says some shit like. "Man, i really like how apples are a little spicy. I think that really adds to the flavor. :D " and everyone starts to panic a little because, "no, ko. apples are NOT meant to be fucking spicy."
So I just simultaneously did, and possibly didn't lose my job today :)
Very much did in the sense that I literally do not know where my job is at the moment. But, for the time being I haven't been let go because nobody else including the store owner knows where it is either.
So, I don't wanna risk doxxing myself by posting pictures but goddamn am I tempted because this is not a believable event. This is a cartoon problem. For looneytoons.
But yeah, so, I work(ed?) at a kiosk selling boba tea, right? Freestanding kiosk in the mall with full water and electrical hookups and multiple fridges and sinks and a mini kitchen and the works. Fully functional tea shop. Very important to note that it was there last night, The work chat was discussing another issue last night at closing time. I'll get back to this.
It's been showing signs of being on the way out with how business is being handled lately and I've been considering other options, which is probably why I'm not as torn up about this as I should be, but maybe it just hasn't set in yet, but that's not the point. The point is there's been a lot of shit breaking and not being replaced and nobody mentioning anything about it until I walk into work in the morning and have to figure out why shit like the fucking cash register isn't there today. So I'm kinda used to having to ask questions about big things that nobody bothered to update me on. I was out for two weeks recovering from a surgery, so I came to work this morning assuming there'd be some kind of bullshit, yeah?
So, the question I had to ask the chat this morning was:
Not a text I ever thought I'd have to send in sincerity, but there it is. Because what I found instead was a fenced off patch of discolored tiles and a few holes in the floor where my entire place of employment used to be.
And the answer? Nobody knows! It was there last night when the mall closed, and every single trace of the structure and all its contents including drink making supplies and our safe and cashbox was gone when it opened again. And when I say nobody knows, I mean everyone from last night's closers to the actual (former?) owner of the store jad no fucking clue about this until getting that text from me this morning. For once I am actually the first to know. 🎉.
So. I guess I didn't so much lose my job as had it stolen. Not by AI, but good old fashioned hands-on human beings picking it up and carrying it away somehow. All mall security would tell me was that they were instructed not to tell me anything and have us contact our management. Who also don't know anything. And later on I came across some construction workers around the gravesite of the kiosk discussing filling in the holes, asked them about it, and was told that they "weren't at liberty to say".
So, not only is my job gone in the most literal physical sense of the word, but it was taken in some kind of super secret kiosk extraction in the dead of night without any warning or witnesses and nobody is allowed to speak of it. The store owner said she was gonna figure it out 10 hours ago and still no word back.
I don't know what else to say aside from I've been laughing all day and I'm gonna have a hell of a time explaining Schrodinger's Unemployment to the benefits office.
Update that is not an update because I'm basically certain this isn't what actually happened:
My mother in law thinks the FBI took it.
Not any of the other stores around the state. Just the one little kiosk.
Why? Because she loves a conspiracy and is just a little bit extra.
Also because she was around for the massive crackdown on Yakuza-owned businesses in Waikiki (in her homestate) that did actually involve the FBI seizing stores (no confirmation of making kiosks cleanly disappear in the middle of the night though).
Still no word from my job on what's actually going on, but the most likely theory so far is that maybe the kiosk was on lease and got repossessed? The mystery continues
(also shout out to the person who proposed Carmen Sandiego)
ACTUAL (partial) UPDATE:
According to the owner, based on what she's been able to find out, the kiosk was not removed legally and they're starting a potentially long process of legal action. I hope she gets to sue the shit out of whoever did it but for now at least I know for sure I'm unemployed.
Really hoping for more details in terms of who/why/how, so I'll keep updating if I learn anything.
For now the summary is: An unnamed entity that is most likely mall management (on account of mall security cooperating with them) stole an entire kiosk and all the contents including money and machinery with barely a trace in the middle of the night grinch-style, with zero warning or explanation, and ensured the silence of both security and the construction crew, in an action that was definitely preplanned and illegal, and as far as I know nobody knows its whereabouts.
So now I'm officially out of a job. Because my workplace was literally stolen in the night.
Actually fuck it let's share some photos cause I wouldn't be inclined to believe this myself. It's not like anyone can stalk me at my job now and I'm not gonna have to see any coworkers that might find my tumblr.
Enjoy the unintentionally funniest text I've ever sent in my life

you may have noticed that my blog is disorganized and thematically incoherent and my tag game is weaker by the day. this is commentary on the chaos of modern existence
A daily game that challenges our understanding of human cultures. Ten objects. 5,000 years of human history. Guess where and when each artif
An interesting game where you are presented with 10 artifacts from the MET. You have to place where the artifact is from and what time period it is from. Each artifact scores up to 10,000 points, and you lose points the further away your guess is and how far off in time you are. You can only play once a day. Thanks to @baebeylik for showing this to me.
Today I scored really well. Yesterday ... not so much.

alright I've got to do some quick math to explain attitudes towards AI to my boss.
we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)
please rb for larger sample size!
Question 1/3
What is your age, and do you feel AI is a net positive or net negative in our lives today?
under 18, AI is a net positive
under 18, AI is a net negative
18-29, AI is a net positive

Question 2/3
How often do you visit or interact with museums/archives (whether in person or online)?
Frequently (multiple times per month)
Often (multiple times per year)
Occasionally (a couple times per year)
Rarely (once every couple of years)

The eye doctor is the most fun doctor you can go to. They never steal your blood. They never make you get naked and put on a paper dress. They're just like, "Can you see these letters? It's fine if you can't, we can fix that." And they don't even spell anything.
Every time I go they put me in a chair and they say look into this machine there's a hot air balloon or a farmhouse in there and I do and I'm like you're right I see it and they're like yeah keep admiring that hot air balloon or farmhouse and I do and I'm like this shit's quaint as fuck and then do you know what happens next they attack me they jumpscare me with air directly into my eyeballs and i fall out the chair and they say sorryyyy but they're NOT they wanted this to happen they KNEW about the jumpscare well now I'm wise to it now I know better when I go in and they say look at this bodacious hot air balloon I'm like NO WAY DUDE that balloon wishes me harm have at thee and I attack them and push them on the ground and spit on them
sleep disorders/conditions affecting sleep are no fucking joke man. they're more than just "takes an hour to fall asleep." like yeah that sucks but.
sleep issues can make people sleep all day and be awake all night no matter what they do. they can make people sleep for over half the day every day. they can make people stay up for over 24 hours frequently - and it just goes up from there. being up for days at a time just unable to sleep.
they can make people have a completely unpredictable sleep schedule too. not everyone is capable of going to bed and waking up at generally the same time, or maintaining it.
all this could be more temporary, or it could just be indefinite. like. having to live your life not knowing if you will or will not be conscious at any given time. you can't plan for fucking anything. you can miss almost every plan or event or obligation.
and everyone just hates you for it pretty much, thinking you're irresponsible and lazy.
be nicer to people with sleep problems. they make you physically and mentally feel like shit. they're not a choice.
paper and pen seems so powerful now. on account of all the. surveillance

TUMBLR! Who's getting pregnant?
Phoenix Wright (Ace Attorney)
Matthew Michael “Matt” Murdock/Daredevil (Marvel)
PROPAGANDA:
[Phoenix]
"It wouldn't be the weirdest thing that's happened to him."
"Phoenix Wright is in a competition with Batman for who can accidentally adopt the most children. So far, Phoenix has his mentor's little sister, his mentor's cousin, forensics science girl, weird magical girl (aka the only one that the adoption is legally binding), dorky boy who doesn't want to admit he's been adopted, and emotions science girl. Plus, I'm pretty sure he co-adopted his boyfriend's kids (crow, anxious boy, rock star, and samurai) before actually asking his boyfriend out (or at least there's plenty of fics to support that theory). Plus, he sees anyone under 18 in trouble, his default is protective mother hen. 16 yr old girl has grown men lusting after her? Attack mode. Young boy arrested for crime with no defense? Guess who is now your attorney and your parent. He wants to be a parent so badly, and he deserves to carry one of his own."
[Matt]
"oooooooooooooooh his beautiful face and the way his ass jiggles i need to stick my nose so far up into his cloaca that i reach the pancreas you don’t understand i need to lick his organs."
I was having trouble deciding, so I posed the question to my wife who, without missing a beat, goes, "Phoenix Wright. No kid deserves to be raised Catholic." So there's that.
What do you mean “chat” is now referring to ChatGPT and not twitch chat? What? What? What the fuck? No?
When I address chat I am speaking to a presumed Greek chorus of real human people shitposting on their lunch break, not a machine that devours lakes to covert electricity into slop.
Those who think that wisdom and whimsy are mutually exclusive have neither. It's vitally important to do the right thing when the consequences are dire, and to do a whole bunch of utterly frivolous silly dumb shit when it doesn't matter what you do.
Often, the wise thing must be disguised as silly frivolous dumb shit in order to actually work
btw i want to say that the entire tumblr community banding together is what got these changes reversed so i hope u all realise the power of a reblog and start reblogging posts instead of just liking them this is the reblog website so hit that button right now
Culture is so obsessed with the idea of lone geniuses that it doesn't really appreciate that most of the progress of science (and likely every other discipline) occurs collaboratively, in babysteps, and usually through a lot very tedious, utterly unsexy, work.
This is what’s so faulty with our short sighted coverage of scientific discoveries. You hear politicians question why we spend money on science studying insect wings and then decades later that research gets used by NASA for the most efficient way to fold/unfold solar panels on spacecraft. All of science is connected and useful because it enhances our understanding of the universe
When lasers were discovered they were called “a solution without a problem”, noone had any idea what to use them for. Since then they’re revolutionised communications and SO many parts of technology. CDs, DVDs, printing, fast internet, laser etching for making computer chips, laser eye surgery, spectroscopy, LIDAR measurements of weather patterns, barcode scanners, cooling atomic clocks, nuclear fusion, microscopy, LED technology and materials research. I’m probably not even scratching the surface here. Fund theory and fundamental science research.
It's actually kind of heartening, lasers; because before they were invented, their only real antecedents in science fiction were things like rayguns and heatrays and what not. But it actually turns out that their usefulness as a weapon is extremely limited, whereas their usefulness for just about everything else is incredible. It's one of the occasions where we flipped the "Dual Use" coin and it landed very solidly on the good side.
also knowledge is an inherent good. it doesn’t need a dollar value to be valuable.
The idea of "genius" and "great men" both come from the same root in eugenics, and- just like great men- genius doesn't actually exist. The people we label geniuses didn't have anything special about them that made them better than you or I: they had opportunities. And many of them recognized this:
The book by Stephen Hawking that he considered his magnum opus was Standing on the Shoulders of Giants: a historical look at how his theories and work related to black holes and quantum physics could be traced all the way back to the atomists in Ancient Greece. When Albert Einstein taught physics, he refused to use written standardized tests- as the originators of the standardized test model designed it to eliminate contributions from neurodivergent people- and would instead instruct students through practical application because actually doing the science these students wanted to learn would show them where their strengths and weaknesses were far better than a test (hence his famous "dog, fish, monkey" allegory).
They want you to believe you deserve to be ignorant that you lack something the Einsteins of the world had, they want you to internalize it as a personal failing, and they want you to either lash out against the "ivory towers" (becoming a weapon they can use in the form of a mob or a conspiracy theorist) or to become a card-punching cog in the machine who never thinks beyond the little box they put you in. They don't want you to listen to the scientists, to let them tell you where they came from: the opportunities they had, the things they did to help them improve in their fields, the way every observation they make is a kind of science- because that might also be true of you. And if you ask for opportunities, then maybe others will and suddenly everyone will be asking for a better life. And then real dregs of society: the assholes at the top, who do know work but have all the money: might suddenly find that they have a lot to answer for that they can't because they never learned.
Genius isn't real. It was a lie made up to make you feel stupid and compliant. Go learn something today: you have nothing to lose but your chains.
also knowledge is an inherent good. it doesn’t need a dollar value to be valuable.
and
Genius isn't real. It was a lie made up to make you feel stupid and compliant. Go learn something today: you have nothing to lose but your chains.
All of this.

TUMBLR! Who's getting pregnant?
Gale Dekarios (Baldur’s Gate 3)
Stanley 'Stan' Pines (Gravity Falls)
PROPAGANDA:
[Gale]
"Not saying he would WANT a child or even be a particularly good father I just need to see how he deals with it. The fear of the biological changes innate in pregnancy affecting the stability of the Karsus Weave. The mix of intellectual curiosity and resistance. The horrifying idea that Mystra might take interest in the child like she once did in him. It would be tasty."
"Need that stupid wizard man pregnant."
"He sucks and is a cuck."
"I saw some art of him knocked up and it required my brain chemistry."
"He's is the perfect male wife already, but a baby bump would make him even better."
"(1) he can handle it. Hes had worse time sensitive situations inside him. (2) hed like it."
Gale propaganda from last season
[Stan]
"It would be funny if the twin of the winner won."
"He would be an amazing dad, even though at first he is gruff and a bit reckless, you can see as the series goes on, how deeply he loves and cares for the people closest to him, he would do anything for his family, and he would be the most dedicated dad out there."
"Gotta get both twins knocked up."
"why should Ford have all the fun? also Stan would be a WAY better dad than Ford."
"HED BE SUCH A SINGLE DAD I NEED HIM PREGNANT AND STRUGGLING WITH A BABY AND RAISING HER THE BEST HE CAN AND SOMETIMES FAILING BUT OVER ALL MAKING IT WORK I CAN PICTURE HIM USING HIS PREGNANT BELLY AS AN ICECREAM TABLE WHILE HE WATCHES DUCKTECTIVE AND PERIOD DRAMAS."
"He's the sexier more breedable brother to me but also I just think it'd be funny if he won the second time around since Ford won the first one :)"
Grunkle Stan propaganda from last season
When I first saw the "Gaurds, impregnate that man" post, nearly three years or so ago now, I sent it to my wife at 2am and she immediately responded from the other room with, "are you thinking about Gale?"
I cannot put into words just how much I think that wizard both deserves and would enjoy this. Let Gale get pregnant and have little magic babies. I think he'd thrive.
