INTRO POSTTTT HI! ✨ any pronouns, for this element does not worry about such titles.
My name is Thallium, number 81 in the periodic table! I've got 81 protons and 81 electrons :3 and I have 124 neutrons in my most abundant isotope! My melting point is 304 C :) I was discovered by Sir William Crookes in 1861, in London.
Thank you to the wonderful, majestic @periodic-table-official for having me on the list! Shout-out to all my other lovely element friends as well :)
cool Thallium fact's! :
Thallium and its compounds are highly toxic. The average oral lethal dose is estimated to range from 10 to 15 mg of thallium per kg of body weight!
Thallium is very soft and malleable. It tarnishes in the air to a bluish-grey oxide. The metal can be easily cut with a knife :D
In the presence of water, the poisonous thallium hydroxide is formed.
Thallium has been used as a rat poison and insecticide (though that was discontinued in some countries), thallium sulfide is used in photocells, and thallium is also used in gamma radiation detection equipment!
