Steven rapidly turned the wheel on the Dondai, using his free hand to throw another gnome out the window. Cursing in Gem under his breath. He had Dipper’s book. Which had to be the most frustrating part about not being able to find the twins.
Aside from, well. Driving through a forest. At night.
Fighting mythical creatures.
What would his therapist say?
He slammed on the gas as the massive gnome monster came closer. Grumbling more to himself in a nearly sarcastic tone.
“This is the stuff you’re supposed to be avoiding, Steven.”
Steven can already feel the disappointment on his shoulders. Or is that the gnomes in the car? He pulls another gnome off of him. But one yanks harshly on the wheel, sending the Dondai over the cliff edge-
Then suddenly- it’s daylight over beach city. The Dondai is plummeting towards the sandy ground followed by a large gnome monster. And several screaming gnomes in the car.
Steven would scream, but after awhile falling towards your death isn’t as.. Shocking as it should be. He sighs and lefts out a breath, touching the roof of the Dondai and lights everything up a brilliant pink. Slowing the fall to a more steady pace. It touches the sand, not a scratch.
Then the large mass of gnomes fall on it, crushing the roof in and shattering the front windshield. Steven gets out of the car, nose bleeding. It was probably broken but thanks to his Gem it healed perfectly instantly.
Something he can be grateful for.
But he throws his hands in the air, clearly angry, but desperately trying not to seem as angry as he is.
“What part of NO do you NOT understand? Mabel said no, go find a Queen somewhere else. She’s fourteen. What the actual hell is wrong with you Clods??”
Several gnomes hiss and he summons a shield to scoop up water and spray the gnomes with it.
