Least favorite thing is when antisemites start reblogging your posts about how antisemitism is bad while their blog is just absolutely full of exactly the kind of antisemitic shit you were talking about. Like bro reblogging a few posts written by Jews about antisemitism isn't some magic spell that protects you against people pointing out that you're antisemitic. It's not a magic "I'm not antisemitic" button that gives you a free pass to then continue being antisemitic.
Anytime an inconvenience arises, apparently
does autism speaks have an autistic executive director? are there autistic people starting local chapters of autism speaks in their communities? no? because those are verifiably true of jvp and jews.
i mean, feel free to tell the (jewish) uc berkeley students who founded it and the rabbis on jvp’s rabbinical council that they’re not actual jewish, tell me how that goes. but your disapproval doesn’t make them any less jewish. signed, an autistic jew.
JVP's seder plate with the hebrew backwards tells me all I need to know. Just because someone is technically jewish doesn't mean they're involved in the culture enough to be qualified to speak on it. It's like if someone is adopted as a baby from china by a white couple in the states, they're absolutely chinese but they should never be used as an authority on whether most chinese people like boba.
And how do I even know you're jewish? Or autistic? People can say whatever bullshit they want on the internet lol. Anonymously proclaiming to be jewish is about as useful as "I'm the king of england trust me bro". What siddour does your synagogue use and what flavor of jewish are you?
@spot-the-antisemitism I have a feeling this will end up on your page lol
i know a lot of people are talking about the tisha b'av guide by jvp and specifically the part where they say hebrew is traumatizing for palestinians so we should pray in...arabic instead. however, even more disturbing is this one:
tisha b'av literally is about mourning the destruction of the temple. it is the saddest day in the jewish calender. it is a holiday about jews and jews specifically.
"we release any attachment to the temple...tisha b'av be approached as not a time to mourn all suffering and all injustice, but to narrow focus and look...in palestine"
this not only takes away the original jewishness of the holiday, but completely refocuses it on the palestinians. jvp does this with every single holiday. they first strip it of anything that could even slightly be construed as zionist in any way possible, add some new age rituals/meanings to make it more palatable to a goyische leftist audience, and then focus the entire thing on the liberation of palestine.
Yeah they’re nuts 🤷♀️ It’s giving OG German Jewish reform movement, but, like, worse if possible.
Also, has JVP considered that having empathy for Palestinians exclusively will not create peace in the Middle East (even if we take Israel out of the equation).
If we can empathy for Palestinian Arabs, we can have empathy for the Hashemites of Jordan, the Maronites and Druze of Lebanon, and the Arabs in Syria.
I knew that JVP was fucked up but this just takes it to a whole new level…
Hey just for the record, this blog believes in the right of Jewish self-determination in our ancestral homeland and believes that antisemitism, wherever it happens, is a bad thing. Don't know why you'd follow me if you didn't believe that.
Y’all one of my coworkers from another department just said that he loved my kippah! I kinda needed that compliment today

I didnt really have the words for this yesterday on tisha b'av and maybe I still don't now. I was thinking about the expulsion of jews from spain in 1492 a lot, about 532 years ago. I thought about how goyim have told myself and others that it was so long ago, and that we have no reason to mourn it anymore. after all, how can something that happened hundreds of years ago affect your life that much? I thought a lot about why it hurts to think about even though I was never there in person. I considered ideas such as the famously long jewish memory, the strong connection sephardim have to the iberian peninsula despite our expulsion, etc.
none of them felt like the right answer until I realized that my family's entire lives onward were determined by that moment. I am lucky enough that I was able to have my culture passed down to me, a privilege that so many jews dont get. it also made me realize that that expulsion prevented my family from metaphorically moving forwards. when they escaped to turkey, they had essentially nothing besides their knowledge of how to make jewelry. so, they spend hundreds of years making jewelry for people who were rich enough to have alleviated their burdens in 2 seconds. I can only assume that the reason they were stuck there for so long is because they were jewish and people hated them just for that.
i imagine what they could have done if only they didn't have to leave in 1492. if only jews were not forced to flee, convert, or die. of course, ill never know, but I have to live with the knowledge that that moment in 1492 has affected the lives of myself and everyone in my family since. maybe that's why it doesnt feel that long ago
I know this post won't reach the Jews it needs to reach but don't respond to that weirdly hostile blog or other blogs like it. It's a troll. It's such an obvious troll just stop feeding it. Please. You're making it worse
Something I keep seeing goyim repeat is "it was never about the hostages" and it makes me so fucking furious. Just, how dare they? How fucking dare they? They spend thousands of years mass murdering us for funsies, and now they have the fucking audacity to say that our mourning of our dead and our fear for our kidnapped and tortured family members is a lie.
It's fucking disgusting and everyone who has said "it was never about the hostages" can fucking rot.
.
just a reminder: "zionist" has always meant jew. since the ussr created anti-zionism and even before then.
zion is our word for our homeland, for jerusalem and israel. zionism is the jewish rights/jewish landback movement.
when you use "zio," it's a term popularized by david duke and guess who he's talking about 100% of the time? JEWS.
when you assume zionists support genocide (it's the opposite. "from the river to the sea" is a call for ethnic cleansing), you're leaning into hamas, pflp, plo, and fatah propaganda that goes back to medieval and ancient blood libel.
because ZIONISM IS A JEWISH MOVEMENT. ISRAEL IS THE ONE JEWISH COUNTRY. AND ZIONISTS ARE JEWS 9 TIMES OUT OF 10.
so yes, antizionism is jew hate. and you are talking about jews.
you've been talking about us the whole time.
JVP doing mental gymnastics to try and make Tisha B'Av not about Jerusalem:
shot
chaser
and if you absolutely must see how far down the appalling Jew hatred pipeline this account is:
the “criticism”
I actually can not tell if this account is run by neo-nazis or hamasniks
I can not if is this coming from the extreme left or extreme right.
And that is is really terrifying.
Because that is something I'm good at doing, I study antisemitism, I examine antisemitism, I break it down, like this is what I have been doing on my tumblr account for years now.
That I can not tell which side this is coming from because it just such a mix a both of is terrifying.
