a tip if you have a friend with social anxiety
no matter how often they say no to your invitations, never stop inviting them to do things. even if you know they will say no, just extend the invitation. you dont know how much it will break their heart if you stop.Â
Help Everyone Find A Job In Their Field
Watch: Lin-Manuel Mirandaâs UPenn commencement speech will move you to tears.
why are there so many straight people in books? it feels like inclusivity for inclusivityâs sake. donât just throw in straight people to seem âcoolâ or âprogressive.â you have to explain why straights are needed by the plot

Whoa, I didnât realize that it was so deliberate, I honestly thought it was unconscious
Scary, scary.
Larry Wilmore didnât waste time in addressing his critics for the comedianâs remarks at the White House Correspondents Dinner Saturday. At the end of the above segment, he offers Piers Morgan (and all white people, really) some crucial advice.

Watch: In a powerful Congresional speech, Sandra Blandâs mother called people who think theyâre woke âthe walking deadâ because of how little we still know
The speech included a rousing call to action before the newly formed Congressional Caucus On Black Women & Girls. And her words were incredibly resonant, even if you think you know the whole story.

Why donât they teach us about great people like her
HeroineâŠ
So white people will treat you like shit when youâre alive and then name a building after you when youâre dead to make themselves feel goodâŠ
Dear feminists,
What do you actually consider cat calling?
people looking in your general direction, duh
any unwanted attention like whistles or comments especially the ones that make a person feel uncomfortable
How can you know itâs unwanted?
because I donât fucking want it
Well okay but how can you know that another woman wouldnât want it?
How are random people supposed to know a comment on your appearance will psychologically destroy you?
Thereâs a line.
âI like your dress!â is acceptable. âYou! In the red blouse! Youâre gorgeous!â is also acceptable. âI like how your dress clings to your ass, sexy!â is NOT acceptable. âYou! In the red blouse! Nice tits!â is also not acceptable.
Letâs put it like this.
If your âcomplimentâ refers directly to:
a personâs ass
their genitals
their breasts (or lack thereof)
how much you want to have sex with them
how you want to have sex with them
wanting to have sex with them against their will
seeing certain parts of that personâs anatomy (sexual or not) in a specific, sexual act
calling the person a name that is considered âdegradingâ or involves profanity
âpet namesâ on a stranger
then it is not a compliment, it is catcalling, and consequently, is harassment.
So as I was saying. Thereâs a line. âHello, beautiful.â is alright. But âHello, beautiful. Those lips look perfect for sucking my cock.â has crossed that line.
Do not cross the line.
Hereâs a good litmus test: Would you pay a woman the same âcomplimentâ if your mom was standing right next to you? If not, keep your mouth shut.
Hereâs another test: would you say it to your mom? If not thatâs probably because youâre doing something creepy and/or overtly sexual.
Telling your mom she looks gorgeous or has a nice dress on is a legitimate compliment on a personâs appearance. Remarking on your momâs ass, tits or acts youâd like to perform with/to her is a cat call and is no better said to a stranger than to your mother.
Iâd also say that ââânormalâââ compliments by complete strangers out in public can cross the line, especially considering body language and intent.
A âhey you look really pretty!â can be very different coming from, say, someone cheerfully as Iâm walking by and they leave it at that, or from a dude who forcefully sat next to me on the bus and is giving me elevator eyes.
Also women arenât in public for the sake of male consumption so maybe leave them alone and let them go about their business in the first place? đ
I really like the if you wouldnât say it to your mother, donât say it to a stranger. Which can extend if you wouldnât do it to your mother, your shouldnât be doing it to people who you donât know.
Men are so fucking predatory though and think all women are fair game. It doesnât matter how much we signal that we donât want to talk to you, like earphones, books, and even no Iâm busy go away. Men are super creepy about it, and act like sulky piss babies when you tell them to leave you alone. The amount of times I have been bothered on a outdoor photo shoot, because they âjust wanted to talk to meâ is really frustrating. They donât give a fuck Iâm actually busy, because they are too busy thinking they want to pull.
Some men will ask for my number because they âreally like me and wish they could see me againâ when they have just seen me in the street??? Even claim they love me?????Then act even more upset when you say you donât give your number out. Itâs like dude, thatâs fucking creepy you know nothing about me. Then they start acting all dramatic about what if they never see me again. Then can even follow me if I move on.
Donât be this guy!
Men really donât take the hint, they think all this shit is âalpha maleâ bullshit because they need to be creepy asshats in the streets to get women. We get this all the time, itâs why it pisses us off because we just want to be left alone to do what we are supposed to be doing. Not treated like our time means nothing, even when we legit need to get stuff done. Do you really think this shit is going to work and make us interested in you?? Really? Has it ever worked for you?
And can we talk about this âwell how do you know another woman wouldnât want it?â bullshit line of reasoning?
So you go around assuming all women want you to sit next to them and talk at them because of the hypothetical ONE WOMAN who may respond positively at it?
Men legit go up to women who have headphones in and head down in the cell phone/book they are reading, which is the clear sign of âLEAVE ME IN PEACEâ and call them everything but a child of god when they are ignored.
Yâall asses donât fucking want to listen to us when we tell you âthis isnât okay at all and is creepy as fuckâ but instead demand xyz exact examples of shit and for what? Yâall ainât gonna take heed. You just gonna chalk this up to âfeminism taking things too farâ when anti cat calling stuff starts to pop up.
honestly i stopped reading when y'all kept going after when that asshole was like âwell how do i know what a woman wantsâ like thatâs just it. you donât. you just donât fucking know. so donât do it.
Is she kidding
White feminism is praising Taylor Swift for shading her ex boyfriends of 2 months in her songs but calling Beyoncé unprofessional and petty when she does the same at the demise of her 10+ year relationship.
Now this is how you shut down the Beyonce backlashâ and his response only gets better from here
itâs completely ridiculous to me that any time i want to have a conversation with a man about misogyny or sexism i literally have to hold their little hands and tell them specifically when i say âmenâ iâm not actually referring to them personally which is ironic because just having to do that basically means i am referring personally to them and itâs honestly so exhausting i am exhausted
So how about you stop generalizing?Â
this is literally what iâm talking about i am exhausted
