oh its SO EASY, just buy this fifty dollar item for forty-nine dollars off with a coupon that you can’t find and don’t have time to cut out at a store that doesn’t have outlets in rural areas and then you can fill in the rest with odds and ends that are SURELY already taking up space in your kitchen that you totally somehow forgot about! [photo of a table full of perfectly arranged meats and fresh vegetables] this little family secret is SO easy and delicious just looking at it will make you gain ten pounds ;) so make sure pace yourself! this right here should be enough to stock your fridge for the next ten months at LEAST so you don’t have to worry about the hassle of mealtime again for awhile!
you know what website actually has my motherfucking back? myfridgefood, put all three (3) things in ur cabinets into their site & even if it’s some stupid shit like “bread cheese and pickles“ they’ll still throw at least half a dozen Depression Meals™ your way

CPD just killed a fifteen year old child.
a fifteen year old black girl was shot four times in the chest by columbus police in columbus, ohio.
as derek chauvin was found guilty, a black child lost her life to police.
we still don’t know her name, but we’ll scream it the minute we do.
“well that can’t be worse”
except it is.
except this child got jumped by the other girls present. she was afraid for her life enough to grab a knife and call the cops herself.
let me repeat that.
the black child that they killed was so afraid she called the cops herself.
they killed the very person who asked for their help.
and before you flip over the knife, they didn’t even ask her to disarm. they got out and immediately opened fire on her and shot her four times with deadly intent.
did y’all think i was kidding.
COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus Police said one person was killed in an officer-involved shooting on the east side of the city Tuesday afternoon.
her name is ma’khia bryant.
i’m such a small blog but i’m begging y’all to spread this story. i can’t speak directly to this- no matter how hurt and angry and thrown by all of this i am, my voice isn’t the one that matters. i recognize that. but i’m still begging for this to not be overlooked. say her name, remember her- remember that this fight never ended, and keep fighting it.
derek chauvin being found guilty is a victory, but we can’t let that blind us to the fact that this has kept happening and never actually stopped. even if the protests went quiet, that doesn’t mean things changed. we have to hold them accountable and we have to remember those who have died and will continue to die beneath the shadow of everything else that’s happened this year.
my heart is going out to her family.
rest in peace, ma’khia.

not related to spn at all, but i would to bring you guys’ attention to the fact that the president/dictator of azerbaijan, ilham aliyev, opened a museum today displaying helmets of dead armenian soldiers and scenes made of clay of dead armenian soldiers that were killed during the 2020 armenian-azeri war.
anti-armenianism is rampant in azerbaijan and aliyev has made it clear many times that he hates armenia and armenians. but a museum like this? this is new.
please spread this. i want people to know how fucked up the azeri government is and how anti-armenianism didn’t end after the genocide.
it’s also important to note that april is armenian history month (and genocide remembrance month) and april 24th is armenian genocide remembrance day.
it’s fucking deliberate.
back to this because the following pictures got released.
free for kids under 6. they’re really taking it as an amusement park.
the girl is literally strangling the wax caricatural armenian. because yes, in case you didn’t know, ethnic stereotypes are part of anti-armenianism. plus there’s the following screencap which says everything on the way they represented armenians.
these aren’t the only pictures, btw.
they’re brainwashing their children into hating armenians.
but this isn’t even new.
there’s a video out there of an azeri teacher actually teaching azeri kids to hate armenians. brainwashing them into thinking armenians are their enemies. it’s pretty easy to find, just google ‘azerbaijani kids taught to hate armenians’.
PLEASE spread this.

dude being a little kid during an election year was THE funniest thing. kids were all just repeating their parent’s political beliefs verbatim without understanding any of what they were saying. My elementary school did a mock election and I didn’t know what was going on so I just voted for Obama because thats what everyone else was doing. My friend and I were chatting on a swing set and she said to me “I hope Mitt Romney gets elected because I don’t think Obama will get anything done” bitch you are 9
I voted for Obama when I was 9 because I hated my dad and he was voting for Romney
People wanna think that because the us was bad and feeding its people propaganda about how Communism Bad that therefore the ussr must have been Good, Actually like No You Fucking Idiot. More than one country can commit war crimes at once
Capitalism is bad I'm not even disagreeing with that Marx Was Right but you know what else is bad? Authoritarianism. If you give a select handful of people, or even worse One Single Person too much power they WILL abuse it. Having a Woke Dictator isn't the answer here you guys just can't imagine actually changing our societal structure from one based on dominance
White person on tiktok: Hey my partner is a poc who I love dearly. I participate in their culture and heritage out of respect. My in laws are supportive of me dressing in their clothes and participating in holidays with them, in fact they insist I do so.
Person with a white savior complex: OMG THATS NOT OK YOU ARENT SUPPOSED TO DO THAT ITS NOT YOUR CULTURE YOU VULTURE THATS NOT OK EVEN IF ITS YOUR PARTNERS CULTURE ITS APPROPRIATION
I’m sick of y’all white ppl with savior complexes thinking you have the right to gatekeep all aspects of a culture you don’t even know the nuances of. Y’all need to shut up.
I had to see so many videos this week of white ppl having to explain on tiktok that they were celebrating Lunar New Year with their partners and their in laws. The fact that ppl have to explain the very concept of embracing the culture of someone they care about to y’all is fucking embarrassing.
Do you know what would’ve been worse than this? The white person not participating in their partner’s culture at all. That shit would’ve been 10x more disrespectful.
Y’all need to fucking step back and learn how to spot context clues because this shit is ridiculous.
Y'all in the notes are embarrassing. I’m not going to accuse white people of culturally appropriating if their partner demands of them to participate in the culture, but don’t make it sound like we want white people participating in our culture. I never had a white partner but if I did I wouldn’t want them participating in specifically Mexican events and holidays, because that is part of my culture meant for my other Mexicans, that’s our space so I’m not going to disrespect our space by bringing someone who’s not part of the community into it. Honestly when I see people who aren’t members in our events and our specific spaces I get uncomfortable. It’ll be like me having a jewish partner, why would I go to their events? It feels disrespectful for me as a non jewish member to go to their temple and wait for it to be over. It’ll be disrespectful for me to be with them on Hanukah because I’ll just be going through the motion and invading their specific events which they’ve been going through their whole life. Honestly it’s ok to have a partner from a different culture but having them in events and spaces meant for that specific culture is pretty disrespectful in my opinion, makes people uncomfortable and like they have to appease that outsider. Let people enjoy their culture with their own people.
Um… mixed-race Jewish-Indian person here, and it would definitely be way more disrespectful and weird to not celebrate Chanukah with your Jewish partner, WTF? Like, obviously, non-Jews shouldn’t randomly decide to celebrate Jewish holidays on their own, but there is literally 0 problem with non-Jews participating in Jewish celebrations when invited by Jewish people. Like, genuinely none. My spouse and I are both Jewish, but we always invite non-Jewish friends to our passover seders (well, before the plague times), and we’ve had Shabbat dinners and Purim parties where we’ve invited non-Jewish friends to share in celebrating with us. This is 100% normal. My sibling is dating a non-Jew right now, and is really hoping post-Covid that she’ll come to high holiday services with him, because it’s an important expression of support during the holiest time in the calendar. Also, Jews don’t proselytise, but we still welcome non-Jews with absolutely no community connections at all to come to Jewish services if they think they might be interested in converting, because… well, how else are you going to be sure whether it’s for you or not if you don’t attend anything?
And also, it would be really weird if my mother told my dad to keep all Indian things private? My parents have a giant sitar and tabla drums on display in their living room (my dad’s aunties sent them over from India decades ago). He has things that belonged to his father dotted around the house. Making him keep that stuff separate would be… bizarre. “No, I will not go to the Indian grocer’s with you; you have to buy paneer yourself while I wait stoically in the car,” would also be pretty weird? Again, I’m sure some cultures have practices that are completely closed, but by and large, it’s considered way more disrespectful for a white or gentile person to refrain from learning about about and participating in their minority partner’s cultural events.
The way I look at it we have such little space for ourselves so I think to invite outsiders into our space is inconsiderate and disrespectful to our people and culture. Sure I have Asian and white friends I could have invited into our mexican events so they can be “enriched” in the culture, but even when I was young I knew it was very inconsiderate to the other Mexicans at the event. Yeah, the people around me would understand that they’re my friend but why would they want to accommodate an outsider? Why couldn’t we just be around our own people for a couple of hours? When an outsider is at the event it changes the event from great comfort and pride to awkwardly accommadating and including the outsider. Even if the outsider is my friend they want to be comfortable around their own people, our other Mexicans.
Even in high school I had some Hmong friends but what I’ve noticed is that the Hmong friend groups were closed to just hmongs. So while I was friendly with some Hmong what I noticed is that if I was hanging around a group some of the people made it appearant that they didn’t want me there. They’d speak Hmong and would be cold towards me. Why? Because that’s their space and they want to be comfortable with their people. So while my Hmong friend would be cool with me his Hmong peers were uncomfortable, and I respected that and let them be. Now, I can tell you when someone brings an outsider to our events and I’m not the only one that gets uncomfortable. That’s why I never brought my white or Asian friends to our events because there will be people in our events that are uncomfortable with that outsider being there.
Honestly I don’t see it as disrespectful if one of your parents refrained from participating in the other ones culture. Your mom lives her jewish culture and life. Your dad lives his Indian culture and life. Neither one can meaningfully interact with the other ones traditions and customs. The way I look at it when an outsider goes to events and ceremonies they are putting on a costume and putting on a performance. Your dad can wear the cap and go to temple, but that’s a costume and performance for him. But for your mom and other jewish people it’s something very important and integral to herself and her culture. Sure as a gentile I could get an invitation to some jewish ceremony, I could go through the motions. But at the end I’m just performing, I’m not part of that culture and I can’t live that culture. And I’m sure there would be jewish people uncomfortable with me being there, rightfully so. I’m mexican and I live that life and culture permanently, sure you can come to our events and festivals and go through the motions but at the end of the day it’s a performance for you and you can’t live it. So all that being said I don’t think it’s too much to ask, to be considerate and let people enjoy their own culture with their own people.
Your dad can wear the cap and go to temple, but that’s a costume and performance for him.
My dad is also Jewish. Indian Jewish people exist, OMG.
Look, I’m not dictating what people do in Mexican cultural spaces, because I’m not Mexican. If those are closed spaces, that’s fine. It’s your culture, not my place to dictate.
But you used Jewish culture as an example, and I responded to let you, a non-Jewish person, know that your understanding of cultural sharing with regards to Judaism and Jewishness is wrong. It’s just wrong. That’s not how it how it works. Putting the idea out into the world that non-Jews with Jewish partners shouldn’t participate in our traditions when invited to do so is extremely harmful to Jewish people and not representative of our beliefs. At all.
Shalom Bayit, peace in the home, is a crucial tenet to Jewish living, and having a totally segregated cultural experience from your partner is bad Shalom Bayit. Saying “no thanks, honey, I would just be going through the motions,” to your Jewish partner when they ask you to join them in cultural traditions would frankly be borderline antisemitic.
Some cultures are completely closed to outsider participation and that’s fine. But Jewishness/Judaism is not, and you are hurting Jews by spreading misinformation about how people should interact with our culture. How your cultural spaces work is your business, but don’t make up BS about ours that actually damages how Jews interact with non-Jewish people in their lives. Let us define who can and cannot participate in Jewish traditions and worry about yourself.

Me:
reverse military discount in which you're charged a certain percentage more for being in the military
That’s some dumb bullshit ^
gonna have to disagree, op made a good point
The only good thing to come from military discount is that in my town the children of the soldiers (myself included) who inevitably left our mothers for strippers could buy our families groceries at 10% off using out DoD IDs
See this picture? This comes from a town in Canada where a 24 pack of water bottles is 104 dollars and formula milk for a baby is priced at 55 dollars a pack. What’s more, a pack of diapers is 95 dollars and one head of lettuce is 26 dollars. Inuit people are starving in a country known for it’s generosity.
If you don’t believe this is true, you can find more images like this here. This is the only grocery store these people have in their small towns, and many people are going hungry & elderly are dying faster.
You’ll send aid to foreign children that are starving, so why won’t you pay a little extra to feed the people in your own country who work hard & still can’t afford the prices for healthy food for their families?
Please have a heart and reblog this photo to raise awareness that even in our own countries people are starving, join the movement and show the government that we won’t sit by and watch people starve.
If you think this will make your blog ugly you’re wrong. Children in a first world country are getting sick & starving, and nobody is even aware it’s happening. You can let people know by reblogging and showing you care. People I am close to, my friends and future in-laws are going through this.
Love how little attention this post gets from my beach blog followers.
Ok I didn’t think this could possibly be for real, but I found a news source on the matter. This is insane.
As someone who lives in Canada, I can confirm this as being true :/ things are crazy expensive up North and our government (note Harper) is horrible at helping out with things and has actually faked getting involved before.
governments hate indigenous people, this is absolutely about anti-native racism. don’t forget that.
One of the biggest parts of this is that shipping freight is costly to get to Northern communities (Some places get 2 shipments a year for non-food supplies), the second is that in Canada there is a HUGE protest against allowing Inuit people to feed themselves in traditional ways (ie seal/whale hunting). I dont think people realize that the native people’s hunting is a literal drop in the bucket as far as the animal populations go, but make a huge difference within their communities where food is scarce and expensive. Canadians aren’t ignorant to the anti-native sentiments in the government, and people have taken it upon themselves to send groceries to families in Northern cities. If anyone here is interested in getting involved, Helping Our Northern Neighbors has been operating since 2014 to ship donated goods.
eating out in a pandemic:
hello! i am a service worker and i do actually understand going out to eat occasionally right now for special occasions or because you are on the brink of losing your mind! but here is the thing: please respect the service workers when you go as much as you can. here are some ways to do it:
*wear your masks when they come near you, meaning pop them on even if they are just asking how your meal is.
* i like to leave my hand sanitizer bottle on the table both because i am using it often and because i want the service workers to know i am for ease of mind.
* i always do this, but right now it’s more important. if you are at a place where you take your own dishes to the trash, do it! it’s not the time to be lazy. workers have to touch your dirty dishes. if you are not at a self serve place, please stack them appropriately for easy carry! this means larger plates all together on the bottom, then smaller, then smallest. a neat little pile. collect your trash and set it on top of your dishes for easy removal and tossing. believe me, this makes a huge difference! instead of touching multiple dishes to stack them ourselves or to dig out trash, we only have to touch one.
* tip. listen, right now, i am tipping even at fast food drive thrus. it’s a respect thing.
* speaking of drive thrus, wear your mask in them. it’s 10 seconds of your time versus the life of them and their loved ones.
basically - i am, to a degree, thankful that some people are still coming out to eat. it helps me maintain my job and income. but there is fear everywhere and there are customers who make it blatantly obvious they do not care about us, both by refusing to wear their masks and by pretty much saying it to our faces. the more people that make this easier, the better it will be and the safer it will be.
not to beg for notes but this one would actually mean a lot to me if it was spread around like... working in the food industry right now really does come w it’s own little unique safety hazards and stressors and if more people were taught how to be conscious of that it could literally improve the current quality of life for me and people like me
I've gone through drive thrus a couple of times since this all started and it seems like I'm the only driver who wears a mask whenever I'm there. Just ... Keep your germs off the workers please
