Okay, so apparently two people actually liked this so it's a sign for me to reblog it with a brief explanation of the AU

Basically what went down here is that after the good ending, the Three Great Creatures wake up in human bodies they don't recognize, not remembering their past lives. They manage to meet together in the Neighbor's room to realize they are the only remaining living beings in all of Headspace. They have to traverse through the dream world to find out about what happened, who they were before, why they are the only survivors and the fact they aren't real in the first place and only exist within the Dreamer's head. (I headcanon that they were aware of that before "The Great Reset" which was when Omori left Headspace for good after the good ending, but don't know about it anymore due to their memory wipe.)

Kiiro Nekomata: Kiiro was inspired by Makoto Naegi and Keebo/K1-b0 from Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony respectively and also has a bit of Pure Vanilla Cookie from Cookie Run Kingdom in him. He is kind, helpful and caring, taking the role of the "leader" within the group. He struggles with an identity crisis and self-worth issues, hence the fact that throughout the story, he keeps remembering a figure called "the Dreamer" whom he had to protect and he feels like he failed that task. However he still manages to stay positive and masks his problems with a smile and a cheerful personality. He can be a bit forceful at times, but he's doing everything for the good of his friends. His name, Kiiro, means yellow in Japanese. His surname is Nekomata, which is a figure from japanese folklore - a cat with a forked or split tail. I chose this name because of his relation to the Loquacious Cat, which will come into play when the group ventures to Black Space. What's important is that Kiiro is afraid of death and anything related to it, and the Loquacious Cat will answer his questions such as "What's going to happen to Headspace now? What are we? Will we disappear too?" further increasing his anxiety when answering since the answers are not anything that Kiiro could make sense out of. Nekomatas are commonly associated with death and control of the dead, which is something Kiiro wants nothing to do with but is still curious about. I don't know if this makes sense, it's 7pm and I'm rambling.

Hyde Del Mar: My initial idea for his character was inspired by the Hitchhiker who takes us to the Abyss. My thought process for this is kind of hard to explain, I just found they are both similar in sense of demeanor and comparing the fact that the Hitchhiker takes you to a place like the Abyss but doesn't actually interact with Abbi or venture deep into the place and the fact that Humphrey just happened to have an entrance to the Map of Truth behind him but didn't actually do anything about it sort of seemed similar to me. Combine that with the sailor from the Hungry Humphrey book (I happened to have the same idea as @pinkalliums ) and throw in your "mad scientist" stereotype and that's basically who Hyde is. He is the same comedian we all know, easily bored and seeking entertainment everywhere. The main thing I changed about him is basically the fact that in canon, he's basically ignorant of everything as long as he's kept satisfied. In my AU, this ignorance was taken from him. He craves knowledge and answers to all the questions he has since waking up in his new body. Does he miss his blissful ignorance? Yes, that's one of the only things he remembers from his past life, but he can't really do anything about it because his need to get to the bottom of things is simply too strong to ignore. His name Hyde came from the Humphrey OST "H2O:HCl" as HCl is called hydrochloric acid. I just thought it was a neat Easter egg. "Del Mar" is pretty self explanatory, I think (Of the sea).

Abby S. Kurokawa: Abby was a character I struggled with most. I ended up writing her into a tragic character. She knows she knew something, she remembers she used to know the answers to all the questions the three of them are so desperate to find answers to, but can't for the life of her remember what it was. She also remembers she missed someone deeply, but can't remember anything about them. She beats herself up for not being able to remember anything and being "of no service" to the other two. She doesn't want to cry because she doesn't want the other two to keep worrying about her, but she just can't stop herself from sobbing due to her constant misery. Despite this, she doesn't lack courage or willpower - in fact, she is determined to do anything in her power to help herself and her friends discover the truth about everything. During Black Space sections, she is more composed than anywhere else, because the place reminds her of the Abyss, which is one of the only things she remembers. She is a great help to the group during these sections. In spite of her outer demeanor, she stays hopeful throughout the situation and even sometimes scolds Hyde for his sarcastic remarks. She always hopes for the best in every situation. Her name is stylized with a Y instead of an I and has a S. added after it (which stands for Seraphina, inspired by the angelic beings Seraphims to indicate her once close relationship with Omori, the "god" of this universe) to make it resemble the word abyss. Her surname, Kurokawa, translates to "black river". I chose this surname because it reminded me of the Abyss in general.

Hello Hello! :D So, recently I came up with an Omori au which is centered around the three great creatures!! I guess I’m gonna be calling it the the three guardians au??  So, the general idea of it is that the three of them initially were tasked with helping Sunny be happy, and have his childhood be a good one. They were all initially created as imaginary friends, but once Sunny met The Gang ™ they gained another function, also being there to help shape his dreams and make them nice so he sleeps well. 

The room that they’re in is some kind of meeting room that they all go to, one that Sunny can’t see into and doesn’t have access to. They move here when Sunny is awake through the many doors that only they can go into, and plan and come up with ideas for additions to the dreams, based on things that Sunny takes interest in in the waking hours of the day!! If you were wondering why their designs are more humanoid/smaller, its because they would change their forms to be able to go into the room easier. 

As for little tid bits of the designs and little backstories:

Cat: A mascot that Sunny saw a lot on various items during his childhood, including the calendar in the treehouse. It brought comfort to Sunny because he likes cats a lot. In the room, his form definitely shrinks a lot. Also, he never blinks, and stares kind of ominously a lot. While he likes and cares for the other guardians, his loyalty is STRICTLY with the Dreamer.

Humphrey: Obviously, based upon the book Hungry Humphrey that can be found in the hikkikomori route. Probably a book that Mari read to Sunny a lot when she was learning to read and he was very very young. The first imaginary friend and guardian to be created. As for his design in the au, I thought it would be interesting to base it off of a potential sailor that was present in the book, tying the design to the character a bit more. When it comes to attitude, he’s similar to how he is in game to where he is a bit lighthearted at times, likes making jokes and rhyming things out of nowhere, but he’s definitely different in the fact that he’s definitely not a “parasite within himself” yet. He’s much more stable I guess? Mostly because this au is more a prologue, and as the au progresses this absolutely changes. For relationships with the other guardians, he really cares about Abbi, but the Cat kind of unsettles him sometimes. Abbi: Taking much more creative liberty with Abbi, I decided that she should be based off of something that Mari and Sunny shared, a board game. I don’t know the specifics, but Abbi was based off of an octopus mascot of a trivia based board game that Mari really enjoyed, usually making Sunny and their parents play along with them. This is why Abbi looks slightly similar to Mari, seeming as the board game was more of something that was important to Mari, but Sunny cared so much about the time spent during it and with Mari that Abbi just kind of turned out that way. For a little design quirk, the tentacles look like they do in the main part of headspace, however when they are shrouded in darkness, just like every part of her, will look more like it does when she’s stuck in the Abyss. When it comes to how she acts, she’s very caring, but kind of blunt and a bit rude. Either way she loves and cares about the other three guardians and Sunny probably the most out of all of them. ANYWAY that’s it!! I have many more ideas for this au, including comics and little doodles I wanna do but yeah! I hope you all like it!

Omori BISCUIT AU: Introduction

Firstly I would like to establish a few things about my AU posts:

\- I will be posting on this AU frequently, and will try to post at least once a week.

\- The main media will be published on AO3 as a fanfiction. I will post art, comics or any other related stuff on my social media accounts, that being Reddit, Instagram, X, Tiktok and Tumblr. All of these are linked at the end of this post.

\- Every official BISCUIT AU post where the most important part is the body text on Tumblr will have this picture or a modified/edited version of it as the first picture. This is to prevent my posts from not getting exposure, as someone might scroll past them if they don't realize they're about something they're interested in.

\- Reddit is my main platform. Ask me questions and stuff anywhere, but expect me to be most active on Reddit. Many of my posts won't even be posted to other social media, maybe only here, that being those where the main media is the body text.

\- Expect me to repost a post important to the fans to understand things about the AU if it gets little or no exposure. I don't want you guys to stay confused!

\- If I don't answer a question, I apologize! I'll try to answer all questions but my phone sometimes acts up a lot and doesn't send me notifications, so don't be scared to ask multiple times if I haven't been answering for a long time!

Moving on, I will now explain the basic story of the AU and which characters are swapped with each other. In the BISCUIT AU, Sunny is swapped with Bowen and Mari is swapped with Daphne (which I believe you've figured out from my last post). This was the initial reason for me to even create this AU because they're my favorite characters. I like how Bowen resembles Sunny in being mainly silent and pretty unresponsive and unemotional and Daphne resembles Mari in being the louder and more fun of the siblings but still being mainly composed and calm. In my AU, Bowen and Daphne are not twins, instead Daphne is Bowen's older sister.

I decided to swap Spaceboy with Kel and named him Lynne in the real world after his creator, Jami Lynne. This seems like a pretty questionable choice since the two don't share much in terms of personality, but I think it's a pretty neat choice because Omocat said something along the lines of "Everything Sunny needs, Kel has" and I saw this happening with Lynne and Bowen quite a lot, since Bowen's whole thing is being quiet and stoic while Lynne is pretty dramatic and emotional. Just like Kel, Lynne would be a great driving force for the story with his determination. And yes, he's a trans man because Jami Lynne said he was and we love rep.

To match Lynne, I decided to swap Hero with Pluto. I named him Parker in the real world because it sounds nice but everyone calls him by his nickname, Pluto. Pluto would be a great match for Hero because they're both the archetype of the "serious, perfect dad of the group". Pluto would be a great older brother for Lynne because canonical Pluto quite literally fits the older brother standard of always being there when you need him (ex. with the Pluto's Spaceline mechanic). Lynne and Pluto would have a pretty cool brotherly dynamic. And of course he was in love with Daphne, but she didn't return his feelings because I decided to make her a canonical romance and sex repulsed aro/ace in my AU because of self-projection.

Aubrey is swapped with Sweetheart not because I saw similarities, but instead because I saw opposites that would be pretty neat to explore. I named her Candice after Miss Candice from the candy store in Othermart, because it's pretty evident that Sunny/Omori inspired Sweetheart's personality by her. Aubrey and Candice both used to be the fun and friendly one of the group and the death of their friend and an argument with another one drove them to loneliness and isolation from their old friend group, eventually starting to hang out with a new group to try and forget everything. The many differences they have are their morals, general outlook on life, priorities and their background. While Aubrey is driven by her anger and emotional distress, doing everything out of pure impulse, Candice is a logical character rather than an emotional one, doing only after thinking, and all her activities are driven by the pure desire to forget everything and stop feeling the emotional distress.

I decided to swap Basil with Humphrey, who I've named Hyde in the real world, purely out of my own amusement. People who know me know that I love to take characters that are only written to be a comic relief, characters or pieces of media that are rushed or downright just horribly written and just turn them into something with lore, depth and an actual personality. Humphrey here fits right into the first category. I decided to take that aspect of him that keeps calm and fun in any situation and turn it into something kind of scary and ominous rather than funny and lightening the mood - after the incident, Hyde has become practically numb and is living in a constant state of delirium. Basil is a character that pretends Sunny has never done what he has because he believes Sunny is a "good person" and, because he sees the world in black and white, believes that Sunny couldn't have done it because "a good person would never do that". Hyde, instead, thinks of himself and Bowen as people who are beyond saving. He doesn't want Bowen to "leave" him because he feels that the two are both "crazy" in the same way, and if Bowen won't accept it, none of them can ever be happy. He sees what they've done is wrong, but thinks there is no point in "redeeming" himself because he thinks he "can't be fixed". Honestly he was extremely fun to write. The name Hyde was chosen for him as a joke, because the name Hyde and the verb hide are similar, and he did "hide" Daphne's body.
