Jenkins2d X Daylight Curfew 

Introducing the third release from our 2014-2015 Daylight Curfew Artist Print Series!

We continue the series with New Braunfels, Texas-based artist/illustrator/designer, Jenkins2d. His work is inspired by street art, video games, and comic books, and marries the attention-grabbing audacity of graffiti with nostalgic, classic cartoon imagery. The print is extremely limited, only 25 prints will be made available. Each museum quality archival artwork is printed on 310gsm fine art matte cotton rag.  Printed with Roland eco archival inks on a bleach free, soft textured surface. With proper care this print will last a lifetime!

Lost in Translation (2003) vs. Her (2013)

Sofia Coppola and Spike Jonze were married for 4 years before divorcing in 2003. Many people believe that Lost in Translation (2003) is about their marriage, Scarlett Johansson playing Sofia, describing the events that lead to the downfall of their relationship. Similarly enough, it is speculated that Her (2013) is Spike Jonze’s response to Coppola’s depiction, showing his point of view. The films feature similar themes and shots, like the one above.

First sculpted WAY back in Janurary 2012, It’s been about 2 years of joy, tears and a lot of trial and error.

I’ve been a bit quiet on here about it, but things are good. So good in fact. He’s FINISHED.

He’s a clear red based on the colouring of a Humboldt squid and thus the release is dubbed so.

Pictured is a comparative shot the rough bubbly first ever pull to the glossy Humboldt Squidy release.

Limited to 7. Priced at $10+ph. They’ll be online for sale tonight @ 8pm 30th Sept 2014. Not much notice I know, but I’ve delayed it long enough.

A few previews from my official Marvel themed show at Mondo Gallery in Austin, TX. Opening reception is April 25th, from 7-10pm.
