ICE is the enemy.
ICE has committed murder yet again.
ICE is the one kidnapping your neighbors.
ICE is the one that has incited violence.
ICE is the one using children as bait.
ICE - Time for them to melt.
An intoxicated federal agent just opened fire on protesters in Minneapolis with a 12-gauge shotgun.
People are protesting ICE in Edina. Edina, the ruby red bastion of the uber-wealthy Republicans in Minnesota.
Let me tell you another thing. To get up north, you have to drive through Trump country. For the last ten years, there have been huge Trump banners and signs and billboards littering the edges of I-35 between here and Duluth. They were there when I went up to the cabin this summer. They were gone when I went up to the cabin last week. Not a single one was left. And what's more, they'd been replaced with No Kings billboards and Fuck ICE signs.
There's this thing in businesses and especially nonprofits called "founder syndrome," which is when the person who started an organization refuses to step down or embrace change because they think it threatens their perfect vision.
It feels like America as a country has founder syndrome of our own creation. Instead of rising to the challenges of a changing world, we drag around the desiccated corpses of our founders and pretend that they are still giving valid advice, wailing that their 250-year-old vision is the only thing that can save us.
I still remember being in high school immediately after the Parkland shooting. My homeroom teacher looked thirty terrified teenagers in the eye and told us exactly what he would do if there was an active shooter. He said he would block the door with his body.
He told us, “I have lived a good enough life to attempt to buy you some time to jump out of the third-story windows and give you a chance to live.”
At the time, Republicans claimed that school shootings and piles of dead children were a necessary price to pay to protect the Second Amendment. They insisted the right to bear arms was absolute and untouchable.
But now? They say the Second Amendment no longer applies when the guns are being wielded by law-abiding protesters.
Now, the Second Amendment apparently doesn’t apply because ICE agents can kill someone and use the fact that he was simply legally carrying a gun as justification for that murder.
This is what matters to them more than keeping children safe and alive. It was never about the Constitution. It is about who they believe is allowed to hold the power.
daily reminder: fuck ice. fuck ice agents. fuck trump. and fuck you if you support them.
As we speak of Renee Nicole Good, let’s remember Silverio Villegas González who was also shot and killed by ICE agents while in his vehicle, then ICE made claims that differed from video evidence. Let’s remember Marimar Martinez who survived after being shot at by ICE five times, but then had to fight against felony charges that were based on claims that differed from video evidence. Let’s remember Jaime Alanis, Roberto Carlos Montoya Valdez and Josué Castro Rivera who all died as a result of ICE raids.
Let’s remember everyone that we know of who died in ICE custody due to neglect and “undetermined causes” in this past year alone. Again, these are the deaths that we know of:
Genry Ruiz Guillén, Serawit Gezahegn Dejene, Maksym Chernyak, Juan Alexis Tineo-Martinez, Brayan Garzón-Rayo, Nhon Ngoc Nguyen, Marie Ange Blaise, Abelardo Avellaneda, Jesus Molina-Veya, Johnny Noviello, Isidro Pérez, Tien Xuan Phan, Chaofeng Ge, Lorenzo Antonio Batrez Vargas, Oscar Rascon Duarte, Santos Banegas Reyes, Ismael Ayala-Uribe, Norlan Guzman-Fuentes, Miguel Ángel García Medina, Huabing Xie, Leo Cruz-Silva, Hasan Ali Moh’D Saleh, Gabriel Garcia Aviles, Kai Yin Wong, Francisco Gaspar-Andrés, Pete Sumalo Montejo, Shiraz Fatehali Sachwani, Jean Wilson Brutus, Fouad Saeed Abdulkadir, Delvin Francisco Rodriguez and Nenko Stanev Gantchev.
You can read their stories here:
The deaths came as the Trump administration ramped up immigration enforcement, detaining a record number of people

OIL PAINTING
Impressive, but IMO so photorealistic there seems no human input. A Canon DSLR could do the same job with far less effort.
There is art that speaks to the soul and there is art that is pure skill. But I have always found the pure skill art is just as moving - not because of the image it presents, which is a near direct copy of the world - but because of the passage of time and effort that went into it.
Paintings such as these evoke the same sense of continuity as meticulously carved arabesque. They are a reflection of entropy in the opposite way a knife worn to a sliver of metal is. This was hours upon hours of human effort and precise movement, years of practice, distilled into a mundane image of a class of water, that could easily be photographed a million times by the phones we all have in our pockets.
How gloriously absurd all human endeavors are, to have done such a thing.
And that is art.
I saw somebody say that watching the Percy Jackson show made them realize that in the first books Percy doesn't even say half the stuff he thinks and he's just a quiet kid silently judging everyone, like they're so right.
Think about it from Grover's perspective. You know Percy as a quiet boy who certainly has his judgy thoughts but (aside from telling them to you) keeps them to himself. He's just trying to make it through school, for his mom.
Then his mom dies. And he loses the ability to give absolutely any fucks. He starts saying all this shit he never said out loud and to people who could do infinitely worse things to him than anything Nancy Bobifit ever even tried. And it only gets worse as he gets older.
Like bro went from quiet kid in the back of the class to fist fighting a god in the span of like a week. Then he openly told the gods to pay their child support. Grover was having heart attacks every other minute.
reblog to give your headache to elon musk instead
I’d just like to point out the growth in this post has mostly coincided with elon’s public spiral downward and I’d like to think we’re all a small part of that
bro can’t think because he’s just got a rager of a migraine 24/7
yes I would like to give elon musk my menstrual pain. I think he deserves it
Reblog to also give Elon Musk your menstrual pain.
Do you think it would be too generous of me to also give him my crushing fatigue?
I will generously donate my chronic back pain (permanently somewhere between dull ache and 'knife stuck in back') and also my 'feel like a wrung out dishrag' fatigue and weakness
I will also give him my blighty hip that randomly feels like it's dislocated, and the jangly nerve in my right thumb that's annoying as fuck.
No refunds, no returns.
crawling back to this tumblr account after the tiktok ban feels like driving back to my old home in the countryside,, gently wiping away the cobwebs and the dust that's settled in my absence,, nothing changed, nothing out of place,, a memory of a forgotten era; frozen in time,,
