I hate those videos of parents saying “gentle parenting doesn’t work” before showing that yelling at their kid does work. Like yeah? If you’ve been disciplining them with yelling and smacking, they’ll grow to be more likely to respond only when you do that because that’s their marker for when to take something seriously now. You ingrained it in them by doing it their whole life leading up to trying gentle parenting once for one video. If you’ve raised them with gentle parenting, they’d be responsive to that.

I feel like hitting and yelling at your kids elicits the wrong kind of outcome because then they just kinda fear your reaction. Being yelled at as a kid made me stop doing certain things out of fear, but I didn’t actually understand why those things were wrong beyond the reaction they garnered. I still get scared people will know when I spill a drink because it feels like the ‘wrong’ thing to do.

So I’m 15 episodes into Supernatural and I wanna ask the OGs something. Was Sam the more popular one when it was first released? I was surprised that the beginning is so heavily focused on Sam, he often compares himself to people they meet and projects his experiences before voicing his thoughts to Dean (valid, girl).

But as an older sibling™ whenever Sam talks about his family issues, I immediately jump to Dean’s perspective. His real thoughts and feelings are often revealed in subtext more than actual words, which is ~sexy and mysterious~

So was Sam popular at the beginning?
