“Don’t worry about it. One of the issues of bathing in the middle of nowhere is the occasional onlooker. Was glad it was someone I like for once.” She’d take note of his expression. Turning around, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get dressed. Anything to make catching up just a tad bit easier. “I have my stuff right around here, follow me.”

It wasn’t far at all. A short walk. Her green cloak matched the green foliage and covered everything nicely. Leola covered herself with it, taking a seat by one of the larger trees. “How’s life treated you lately, anyway?”

“A-Ah, truth be told, I was expecting a thorough scolding, familiar or not, I imagined that you’d be far more surprised than what you are when I walked it! Heh, with the way I worded that, it sounds like I wanted to be scolded! I can assure you, that’s not the case!”

The lad answered her in response. He wasn’t going to lie--His cheeks were flushed with a somewhat noticeable crimson hue. You’d have to really, really observe his face to notice that. 

He eagerly followed Leola’s lead, and took a seat right next to her, the sound of grass giving way to his body crunched underneath him.

“I’d like to say... it’s been sort of hectic still? My comrades pleaded that I take a break, lest I run myself ragged. I’m sure you’re familiar with the notion of resting so that you’re at peak energy later? But uh! I see that you haven’t changed in the slightest! You still have this... calming aura? That would make sense right?”

He gave her a small smile, before closing his eyes and rolling his head. He felt a little stiff after all!

Teepo eyed the strange male before pausing. “Aren't you a strange one.” He commented raising an eye brow and turned back over to Elize

 "Hey isn’t he weird?“ Teepo laughed before Elize paused.

 "Teepo that’s not nice to say about someone, you really shouldn’t make fun of people like that,. ’ Teepo looked at the male again. "but he’s strange.” Elize shook her head before stepping forward and smiling at the stranger. 

“Hello there, please do forgive Teepo he means no harm. he’s just says what comes to his mind.” She chuckled before holding out her hand. “My names Elize and his name is Teepo, it’s nice to meet you.”

“W-Weird?! Ahh... Well I guess to some... creatures? I guess I can be seen as that...”

The young lad tilted his head as he talked to the... purple... creature before him. Of course, he could’ve said that this creature was strange in itself! But that much was obvious--It probably knew that it was strange. So pressing the issue wouldn’t really get him anywhere.

“Anyway! Nice to meet you as well! You... don’t look like you’re from around here at all!”

A quick glance at the both of them made that more than obvious. It was then he pondered “Are they lost? Maybe they’re on an important mission! Are they perhaps priests?” The times were changing pretty quickly after all. And despite knowing that it was rude to assume anything, he couldn’t help but let those thoughts flow through him.

“My name is Luka! It’s not often we get travelers like yourselves! May I ask, are you on an important mission?”

“Luka!” She had just emerged from a stream. Bathed and cleaned. It took a lot of self control to not run over and hug the boy given the combination of her current state of dress and the fact that she was still soaking wet. 

“It’s been ages! Why don’t I get dried up and we can catch up, yeah?” Leola smiled. She made no effort whatsoever to cover her body.

“Leola! I just have the most perfect timing, don’t I? I was completely wrapped up in my own thoughts and didn’t think you were in here! Wow oh wow.”

The boy managed to stammer out, his face still flush with a red hue that would make fire jealous. Nevertheless, that didn’t stop him from widening the space between his fingers as she spoke to him.

“O-Of course we can catch up! You’ll have to excuse me entering so suddenly. We all have moments of absentmindedness, you know?”

Petta was going around a small town just to explore. Unfortunately, no one is willing to greet her as anyone she comes across runs straight back to their homes. “Why is everyone so afraid? Did they already figure out who my father is?” She asks herself. Not too much time to think as a young hero shows up and asks her to leave. “Oh, Hello the- wait what? But I didn’t do anything.”

“W-What do you mean you didn’t do anything! You’re pink haired monster everyone one was...”

As the boy went on his spiel, his words suddenly came to a halt as he noticed his opponent standing there, utterly shocked. Wait, she was the one causing all of this commotion? She, was the one putting lives in danger? Was such a small monster capable of such horrible things?

“E-Eh? You? Such a small girl...”

He gave her a confused look. Of course, he was expecting something similar to a dragon! Or maybe even a basilisk! 

“A-Anyway! I won’t let you continue your evil plans! Capturing humans... Stealing, destroying human settlements! It ends today!”

He informed her. Although, now that he had a good look at her, he could clearly feel skepticism building in his chest.

“Wait just a moment... you must be that pink haired monster they were talking about!”

The young man shouted as the site of the pink haired girl crossed his sight. By the goddess, this must’ve been the creature that was well feared in town! At last! After searching for hours inside this dilapidated building. At first he was unsure whether or not exploring this place would’ve yielded any results. Thankfully he was glad that his efforts had paid off!

“I formally ask that you leave, and never, ever show your face around here again!”

“Sounds like a plan.” She nodded politely as she took this moment to slip back out of the room to give him some space. After all… watching a guy change clothes really wasn’t… her thing unless she there was some other motivation involved.

“Just… call me if you need anything.” She left out that the items were probably not recently inspected due to a lack of male employees for some time… or what might happen as a result. Better whatever that might be though… than whatever the other girls might have planned. They had been acting rather odd since the store touched down.

“Hey, I’m changing clothes. If I couldn’t do this by myself, then I’d seriously think about how I went about on my journey! Ya know?”

He asked her, feeling a slight red hue come to his face. This would be such a trivial task that he didn’t even think about calling her for help. And even if he did, and that was a big if, then he’d do so for a good reason! Like for some alone time. But that wasn’t appropriate in a work setting of course. Nevertheless, Whoosh! The curtain closed, and his view of her, was cut off.

Whoosh! that familiar sound of the changing curtain filled his ears. He let out a nervous sigh, before approaching her. On his head, donned a black, round hat. Why? It was to protect his head from the possible heat! He had lost his beige colored long sleeved shirt, and vest, for a white shirt, and a light black jacket over it. He wanted to keep it casual, but not so casual that people would mistake him for a civilian.

And that was it! His blue boots? Still there. Black pants? Accompanying his white and black shirt! The only thing he had changed, was his upper half. Oh, and his cape. He knew for a fact that his cape could get caught up in shelves, or even other things like corners! He had to take it off. But it was for a good reason.

“Ok! I’m ready to get into it! I’m ready to give it my all today, Evelyn!”

He informed her, confidence welling up in his small chest.

“Well… you might want to go outdoors for a little bit during break, so… I’d say short sleeves because of the warmer weather, but I’d say go with whichever makes you feel more comfortable.” Practical answers from a practical girl who was more used to answering clients than well… her newly wedded husband she’s only legall been with for part of a day.

“As for myself… I don’t really have much in the way of preference as I usually recommend whatever seems to work.”

“You’re right! The last thing I’d want to do is start working outside, and suddenly find myself afflicted with heat stroke! Good point.”

He told her, a slightly surprised look on his face. At first, he was expecting her to have a specific kind of style she preferred. But to hear her say that he could wear whatever? Well, that was just the tiny bit of icing he needed on the sweet cake he was being served! Nevertheless, he was stalling long enough. He needed to go ahead and get changed so that she didn’t get in trouble.

“Alright, I just need to go inm pick something, and come back out, right?”

He asked, just to make sure. It was better to ask, rather than to assume and mess something up! The saying “better safe than sorry” applied heavily here.

“There are pieces that are typically sort of standard… but you are allowed to pick within those parameters.”

It wasn’t a lie at all… Gramps did have a dress code, but the dress code was relatively flexible within those restrictions. Personally, she did consider the male uniform as more of a butler or waiter to the maid or waitress feel of the female version. However… they tended to show off relatively differently.

“Would you prefer a short or a long sleeve shirt by the way? If you go with a short sleeve, I’d recommend a vest instead of a blazer.”

The boy’s eyes widened slightly as she spoke to him. That was a really good question; short sleeves or long sleeves? Hey it was the little things that mattered the most. On one hand, it’d be nice to be flexible and be able to move freely. On the other hand... he was so used to wearing long sleeved shirts that he’d practically feel naked not wearing one! Well, that was an outlandish thing to think, but then again. The small things.

“Evelyn, let me ask you, what would *you* prefer to see me in? I’m all yours today, and wearing something that you’d enjoy would put a big smile on my face!”

He told her, a smile starting to light up his face. That was the typical thing to say to a loved one, right? Of course, he had no doubt she’d pick something that was both aesthetically pleasing, and flexible to work in! Besides, subtly informing her that he’d enjoy whatever preference she had would surely earn a brownie point or two.

“I wouldn’t call it lying so much as leaving out important information. After all, you could tell me more about what it’s like out there outside of those random impressions that I’ve acquired during those short distance jaunts.” She had arranged things so as to make it clearer that what the different components were… from pants to the shoes to the shirts he could wear. Apparently he missed it when she slid over the ones in his size so he could pick things out.

“Also… the uniforms are relatively simple… despite appearances.”

“You know? You’re right. I was leaving out information. I apologize, Lovely. I just didn’t want to fill you in on the obscene details.”

He told her, defeated. She was absolutely right; he wasn’t lying to her in the slightest. Rather, He chose an evasive answer that she’d settle for. He was still mystified by how she knew he was holding out. Did she already know? If that was the case, then why ask? Maybe it was just one of her weird traits. Not that it’s a bad thing; weird is what makes us unique!

“So, there’s no set uniform, right? I can wear whichever?”

He asked, taking a step past her and viewing his options. If he was asked to wear pretty much what he’d prefer, then she’d have no problem if he picked out something totally unexpected, right?

“To be honest… you do have options… Like… vests or jackets, shirts with long or short sleeves… bow or neck ties…” She rattled out as she sorted things out by well… what would fit so he could see the selection of colors and styles. They all that this sort of “formal store clerk or waiter” feel though… which probably would make people relatively uncomfortable.

Thankfully it was very well stocked for some reason.

“And seriously… you should be more honest with me.”

“How about this. You let me at it! You give me all the options, and I’ll come out in something that’ll scream “professional” and “Good looking”!”

He told her, his chest popped out in confidence. He was about ready to blow the socks off of her! Metaphorically speaking of course. He was simply going to pick out an outfit that she and her boss would deem acceptable. But then again, she hadn’t exactly told him what was acceptable. Oh well, he’d just have to wing it, and hope for the best.

“Evelyn please... I was being honest with you! I have no reason to lie. What I’ve said was the one hundred percent truth!”

He told her, yet again, his face becoming more flushed with embarrassment. Not because she was messing with him, but because of her word play. Maybe she couldve stated that she’d prefer if he didn’t hold back. But he absolutely didn’t want to give off the impression that he was lying!

“My juniors never could seem to decide if if was their ally or a treat to their dream of one day running the store instead of the old man… and if you are wondering and before you ask… I do know that you are holding out on me.”

She already knew the answer to her question after all as she only wished to hear his thoughts and observe his actions while she went to work looking through the closet they kept the spare men’s uniforms… then proceeded to grab a few options from the rack and passed them over.

“Any particular preference when it comes to clothing? I should ask since we’ll be making deliveries today.”

“A-Ah Evelyn, how did you know that?”

The moment those words escaped her mouth, did a cold shiver make its way down his back. Oh come on, how did she know that! He wasn’t exactly lying, but how did she know that he was holding out on her?! This time, it was his turn to blush out of embarrassment; her deductive reasoning was scarily accurate.

“A-Ah geez, you really are smart, you know that?”

He told her, a weak attempt at buttering her up. Aside from that, he really didn’t care what he wore! As long as he wasn’t revealing, or showing off any personal bits. If she wanted him to wear something, then he wouldn’t protest!

“I’m fine with wearing anything! Just let me know what you have in mind!”

Clearly anxious by what was about to happen, he just nodded, and accidentally lashed out. The fact that she was delaying the inevitable was making him more nervous, than the actual act itself. He was unaware if this was an act of teasing, but if she was in a hurry, she would’ve just ripped the band-aid off, in a sense.

“Yes! Do it! This is torture!”

He told her, shivering when he felt her body against his. He definitely wasn’t a fan of being treated like a child, the way she picked him up, but he wasn’t focusing on that now. In fact, he was focusing on stabilizing his breathing, cause it was starting to get ragged, despite the fact that she hadn’t even started yet!

“Do you mind telling me a little about your world while I give things a once-over?” She suggested, noting that she might as well since she planned on doing deliveries as a way to keep him out of the store as long as possible. After all, she really couldn’t trust them with any… “newbies”.

There was also the idea that she could… say… tamper with the outfit herself and control the results herself… but she’d rather not do that unless it was absolutely necessary.

“Or is my behavior actually bothering you for once? After all, as the highest ranking employee outside of the old man… it’s kind of my job to make sure things work as well as possible.”

“A little of my world? Ah well, I guess I hadn’t told you all the specific yet, have I?”

He pondered, taking his chin into hand. He hadn’t exactly told her about the history of where he came from, or what usually happens. He considered it too obscene for her tastes. And given that it could be seen as off putting to some, he neglected telling her about it. But he supposed he could give her a general gist!

“Well, I come from a world where monsters and humans co-exist! We live out our days in peace, and we just try to get along with each other!”

He told her. That technically was the truth after all--just an average, peaceful land with creatures and species of all sorts! That was surely more than descriptive enough for her. Which, he wasn’t sure why she had asked so suddenly, but her next question really caught him off guard.

“N-No! Your behavior is just fine Evelyn! It’s just part of what makes you, you! And it’s what I love about you!”

He shot back, completely tearing down her doubts. He could’ve said that better, but she definitely got the gist. In fact, he was actually impressed that she was such a high ranking worker here! Being surrounded by so many knick knacks, and creations made him shiver in excitement! Imagine being around these every day, and making them yourself!

“I’d still recommend letting me take a look at the clothes before you put anything on… I mean… unless you want something to happen to you after you put them on?” Might as well make that point clear… again before he charged right in and well… ended up in some sort of tangle that was difficult to dismantle in a sensible and practical fashion.

She really didn’t want to end up having to explain how complicated these were like if… he put it on and nothing appeared to happen at first or… anything like that or to any of his friends in this world what happened to him later.

If he wanted to go ahead and take the risk though… hischoice.

“Ah, are you positive that the owner would mess with my clothes? Are you sure it’s ok if I help you today, Evelyn?”

He asked her again. Now, normally people would take that sign as a “Hey, you’re not welcome here.” sort of thing. So if what she’s saying is true, and she really has to check if his clothes had been tampered with, then is he intruding? If that was the case, would she get in trouble for helping him stay?”

“I-I dunno, I just don’t want you to get in trouble. You’re far too lovely to get involved with something disciplinary!”

He told her, still worried about her status, rather than his safety. He loved her, and he wasn’t going to recklessly endanger her spot here by rushing in headfirst. If she wanted to check, and if she was absolutely sure he was ok to stay, then by all means. He stopped dead in his tracks, waiting for her to answer. Possibly check if she wanted to, but he wasn't’ going to give that away yet.

“Okay… here is the Employees only area…” She mentioned, avoiding that door I mentioned with all the warnings and taking a door a ways away into what would appear to be the interior of the store. It was rather nice in general, being one of those fancy places that seemed to always have everything in order and also rather… upper-class-like yet practical.

“It’s not much, but it’s pretty much home for everyone that works here. The girl’s area is to the left, boys are to the right, and the shared areas like the cafeteria and fitting rooms are in the center.”

“Employees only. Got it. Boys are on the right...”

He mumbled to himself, making sure that he wouldn’t have to ask her again. Of course, whilst he wasn’t that knowledgeable on the subject of workplaces, he understood why there were different sections and what not, for changing and the like. Nodding his head, he turned towards Evelyn, and started to speak in her direction.

“So, I change here, and then I can go ahead and proceed with helping you out! Right?”

He asked, wanting to get straight into it. All jokes and flirting aside, he actually was serious about wanting to help. And rather than delay it, he wanted to jump into it asap, so that she and him could spend even more time! Preferably so that he can shower her with more affection. It was probably written all over his face, but he did want to fit some of that into his schedule after all!

“I could always say… not check your uniform for any lingering curses and be done with it?” She suggested, noting that there was definitely enough time for gramps to put a whole pile of weird and amusing stuff in his equally strange sense of humor.

In all, Evie’s mostly trying not to look too unprofessional despite being basically his blushing bride for the next few days… and was mostly using her left hand to subtly tug on her skirt as they walked so it wouldn’t hike up the rest of the way as it seemed to be doing all the time.

“Because I’m not kidding about him doing stuff to the clothing so it changes or changes you while it’s being worn.”

“I could always... Come up behind you, hug you, and say something so nice that you’ll have to hide your face from everyone.”

He told her, a determined smile on his face. Luckily for her, she decided to end off on her note of her not kidding. If she had allowed him to continue, he likely would’ve reached the point that he would’ve started plotting. Plotting about how much affection he’d show her! Then again, this is a professional workplace; he didn’t want her to get in trouble.

“I understand, Love. I’ll stop teasing you. For now.”

He told her, making sure to flash her a wink. Where was he getting this string of confidence? He had no idea. Maybe it was the atmosphere of the store. Or maybe it was how she was acting. It wasn’t negative, but it was definitely inviting. It was an invitation that he couldn’t refuse!

“If you find yourself as something else tomorrow and end up in a jar… Don’t blame me.” Well… that was one way to make a retort, threaten him with some sort of strange, bizzare, and most likely long lasting fate than continuing to act all flustered and… adorable for more than a few moments.

It was a worthwhile distraction for the moment… throw him off and allow her to regain her composure maybe?

“Oh man, I’m absolutely liking that tone you’re giving me. Are you challenging me? Cause if you think I’m being affectionate now, then you haven’t seen a thing!”

He told her, one of his brows thoroughly furrowed. He’d be lying if he said he knew what she was talking about, however, it didn’t take a genius to realize that maybe this was her way of coping with being embarrassed! He’s seen this type of behavior somewhere, he just couldn’t place the name of it.

“If I find myself alone, thinking about how absolutely amazing you are, then I am gonna blame you! And then I’m gonna tell everyone what I think about you, and how I want to spoil you!”

He told her, easily challenging her statement. He had a way of going about with this. And that was “Don’t fight fire with fire. Fight fire with love and embarrassment!”. He wasn’t kidding either; if he started to have a casual conversation with someone in here, he was going to make sure he showed her off! A bit much? Probably. The truth? You betcha!
