So in college I had this group project where we had to do a survey and gender was an essential part of our project.

This one guy in the group was in charge of making the Google document and I still regret not checking it before it was sent out.

It was after he sent it that we realized that he had only mentioned male and female in the gender column and when we asked him why he hadn't included the other genders, he had the AUDACITY TO LAUGH and say that he didn't want to because HE DIDN'T LIKE IT.

This is what's fundamentally wrong with us as a society. We don't allow people to be themselves because we "don't like it".

This may not be a huge deal for some of you out there, but these subtle forms of homophobia are what later develop into full-fledged hate.
