Another angsty thought, but what if Mr. and Mrs. Blight initially only planned to have one child- And were surprised to learn Mrs. Blight was carrying twins! Can you imagine if Emira and Edric grew up underneath their parents’ abuse, always made to feel lesser than the other every time one of them messed up; And believing deep down, that at least one of them was unwanted?

Could you imagine each twin looking at the other, and wondering which of them the parents originally planned to have before the other came along; Or would it have mattered which was born? Either way, Emira and Edric, amidst all of their other issues, deal with the possible idea that one of them was unplanned and for unwanted by their parents. That burning question neither would dare ask aloud; “Which one of us did you ACTUALLY ask for?” Because there’s that latent fear that their parents don’t love them, or worse, that one of them was an accident that was only allowed into the family because they came with the other twin…

To Emira and Edric, Amity was obviously intended. But unless the Blight Parents specifically had an Oracle tell them that they’d have twins if they conceived, could you imagine the pain in either twin’s heart, expecting one of their parents to one day reveal in a harsh moment that they were the one who was unplanned for and unwanted?

Just a random thought, but don’t you love it how Viren always looked down on his son for not being, in his mind, smart enough.

For being soft headed, for being the stupid one.

Yet in s3, when Soren finally does apply his brains, it’s to lead to his father’s eventual downfall.

Viren puts his son down because he’s an idiot, but when Soren finally wises up and starts using his head, it leads to Viren’s plans crashing down. Karmic justice doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Gren and Kazi going to a big, old Xadian library, about a 10 minute walk to the nearest town. As they're studying in there, it starts to snow, but they don't notice. By the time they're ready to leave, they're snowed in! There's logs next to a fireplace, so they won't freeze, but they start to get tired. Gren ends up leaning towards Kazi as he dozes off, and they wiggle a little closer to him. The two fall asleep cuddled together, and they wake up to Amaya forcing the library's main doors open.

How did I not realize that Viren actually hits Gren’s chest in S1, E5? He actually makes contact right before Gren jumps back!! I thought it was just an exasperated movement, but he actually hits Gren’s chest! 

It’s not hard, but hard enough that there’s a little clang of armor when his hand hits. 

I know of all the things that Viren has done that seems small, but he hit Gren. It was such a petulant thing. And he doesn’t take that aggression out on Amaya who is the person he is actually angry with. This actually tells us a whole lot about Viren right at the beginning. He basically kicks a puppy.
