Summary: reader begins to feel that Devin is getting more distant as she sees him more on social media instead of in person

You laid in bed on Instagram seeing Devin's story as he was at the awards with his cast mates such as Timothy and Ross. You saw how happy he was and was happy for him but at the same time you couldn't help but remember you haven't seen him or even heard from him much though you knew he schedule was busy as of late with all the attention the show gets. You still couldn't help that you missed dearly but you didn't want to bother him with his friends and their time of fun.
Hours turned into more hours of waiting for him to respond and though you didn’t want to seem needy you just missed being with him. Then you got a notification that he posted again you didn’t want to watch but that was the only way you see him, sighing you just turned your phone off altogether and started crying until you fell asleep.
The next morning you woke up and dreaded on turning your phone back on but you wanted to see if he ever did text you back, when your phone turned on you had what seemed like hundreds of texts and missed calls from him. Mostly him just saying he’s sorry and that he loves you, and of course you love him too you just started to feel as though he didn’t want you despite the messages and your promise ring you started to question everything and didn’t know why. That’s when you got another notification except it wasn’t a text but a recent interview that Devin had.
The interview was usual mostly them asking about the show, his character, reactions the show got, and his cast members and then they asked about his life. “So taking a break from the show for a sec, how has your personal life been since you haven’t been filming?” she asked, “It’s been very busy to say the least me and other members of the cast have been going to awards, many interviews and just everywhere but I honestly miss my girlfriend (y/n) a lot. We haven’t seen each other since I gave her a promise ring and it’s been pretty rough on the both of us especially her, so seeing each other as much as we can means a lot to the both of us.” Devin said making you tear up hearing his words.
“I’m guessing you watched the interview” you heard a familiar voice that startled you so much so you screamed “FOR FUCKS SAKE” you turned around to see Devin smiling and laughing at your reaction. Your eyes began to water up more but this time for tears of joy as you ran up to him and hugged him, “What are you doing here” you said hugging him tightly “I missed you (n/n) so I thought I’d surprise you and I also wanted to come apologize to you because of last night I’m really sorry for not answering your messages and I feel terrible about not responding until later last night, but I do want you to know you mean the world to me (y/n) and I promise I’ll never do anything like that again.” he said which just made you look up at him with a smile and kiss him, “I love you too and I forgive you of course I can’t stay mad at you” you said before kissing him again.
As you both laid in bed cuddling Devin spoke up saying “Were you really mad at me” you heard the sadness in his voice, you felt your heart break as you heard him say that. “It was a mix of emotions babe, one part of me was mad because you never responded but posted on instagram, the other part was sad because we weren’t together but I was happy because you were happy. Then I-I started to think you didn’t love me but I know you do and I was overthinking the entire situation so I went to sleep crying” your voice breaking as you finally told him. “I promise you I’ll never ever do that again I was so wrong to do that and I wasn’t thinking and most importantly I hurt you but please know that even when I’m not with you I love and care about you more than you know.” he said reassuring you about his loyalty as you two cuddled and watched movies the rest of the night. Being with him was all you craved and now that you have him you didn’t want to give that up and in that moment you knew he will always be your one and only love.
