not gonna lie my art is asss
okay that might sound crazy because I know most people would say "oh but Ambrose ur art literally looks so good blah blah,'
its just ass..because its stagnating. my art style has stagnated. for the past 2, maybe 3 yrs. and im seriously over it because if you've looked in any of my old sketchbooks you'd see my artsyle vastly change throughout the years. or even year.
the first image was soemthing I drew in 6th grade I think. and I remember shelling out a bunch of drawings like the 2nd and 3rd in 7th when I had online school. not much to say here..uhhh these were dacha OCS lol. I had a big fascination with drawing curves on people? idk I still find it cool today, because you draw all sorts of body types with it yknow?
~honestly I cant even remember when this happened I just know it did.
I think this was roughly my 8th grade year. up until then my art style was semi-realistic and very. anime-esque, but I discovered killgogo on YouTube and got super inspired by their artsyle. that maybe torriku sotaru? idk..
~I was in my rdr phase and I look a lot of inspo in it. here..I tried to lean into semi realism. ngl this is my favorite looks of my art so far. I just hated this era alot because of the smudging. ughhhh. I hate the feeling of smudged lead on my fingers.
~ this was my story building era.. I was really focused on trying to figure out what my oc's story was and sorting out their backstories. to save on time and because I HATED smudging lead I started to rely on pen. though it helped me solidify my art style it totally assassinated my art. My art style is literally built on constant evolution..and this is where my art started to stagnate
this was when Stella & ai xia were created.

~ Stella and Ai xia totally ruled this era. this one of the few pencil sketches in my sketchbook lol. its majority pen drawings of them..but I find them ugly.. so. this will do instead. I mostly spent last year solidifying their relationship and exploring the nuances of it. you might see some of it here.

I know this may seem really tone deaf BUT I have adjusted their characters to not sound like total cliche. I just figured..notes aside people might appreciate the art a bit. but im definitely embarrassed about this one. 😭
id love to do a little break down of all my sketchbooks throughout the years. I realize I had alot to say as I was sifting through my books for this post. but idk! I might make a video on this one day..we'll see lol
even then though I did all this just to prove my point. im gonna work hard this year to try and improve my art and see some notable change in it. otherwise things just seem to have plateaued..and im not satisfied
