Creepy: This Guy Has No Nostalgia For The Movie âHolesâ
this is better than an entire season of american horror story
All the reading she had done had given her a view of life that they had never seen.
Roald Dahl, Matilda (via theliteraryaffairs)
During the scene when Mulan decides to go to war instead of her father, she decides to do it while sitting on the foot of the Great Stone Dragon. The image of the dragon looking over Mulan is repeatpred several times throughout the sequence, and the bolts of lightning strike at significant times whenever the dragon is in sight. When Mulan takes her fatherâs scroll and when she is praying to her ancestors, the Great Stone Dragon can be seen. It is also engraved on the sword Mulan uses to cut her hair and the handles of the wardrobe containing the armor are in the shape of the dragonâs head. The dragonâs eyes glowing in the temple symbolizes Mulanâs role as protector of her family awakening, instead of the actual dragon.
The reason Mushu couldnât wake the dragon is because the dragon was no longer there. Mulan is implied to be the Great Dragon that protects her family.
CHRIST HOW DID I MISS THAT AFTER ALL THESE YEARS
HOOO SHITZ
I love this take. Itâs also kind of interesting as often the chinese dragon is seen as quite a masculine symbol (the phoenix for the feminine) in Chinese culture. Which suits- because while historically there HAVE been female Chinese warriors- Mulan did step into what was broadly considered the world of men to protect her family.Â
the inarguably best three avatar moments in no particular order
thatâs rough buddy

Sokka: I canât see ANYTHING! Toph: Oh no, what a nightmare! Sokka: Sorry.
Youâre forgetting the VERY BEST:
âą Thatâs a sharp outfit, Chan. Careful, you could puncture the hull of an empire-class Fire Nation battle ship, leaving thousands to drown at sea. Because⊠Itâs so sharp.
Maybe: - Thatâs a great idea! Let the blind girl fly the giant air ship. - I know this is from you, Sokka! Toph canât write! - Hey! Riot! - Why am I so bad at being good?! - Take a bite out of the silver sandwich. - The father lord - I donât need any calming tea!
This tea is nothing but hot leaf juice! UncleâŠthatâs what all tea is. How could a member of my own family say something SO HORRIBLE?

(via Justin Jorgensen) âIn 2007 I worked with photographers Williams + Hirakawa to create a concept piece of me sleeping on a sheet cake. I though these cakes looked like pillows, and thereâs the obvious play on âsweet dreams.â
I wondered if I could fall asleep on a cake and have sweet dreams. I didnât. It was pretty gross really and wasnât easy to wash off.
A few years later, outtakes from the shoot were sold to Getty Images as stock photos. I didnât know this until 2011 when one of those photos made #13 on the wildly popular Buzzffed.com list of â60 Completely Unusable Stock Photos.â
Into 2014, the Getty Image photo continues to make the rounds on Facebook and Tumblr.â
