F1 is an intense, competitive and drama filled sport
Looking between this radio and Hungary 2011 I'm pretty sure the Marussia-Virgin team was actually having the time of their life despite being dead last every race
According to my brother, the camera operators are told in advance when they're going to be cut to or at least given a heads-up, so this guy assumed he was safe to use his camera basically as a pair of binoculars bc he wasn't supposed to get the focus. But the person who was switching between camera feeds accidentally cut to his camera by mistake instead of the one that was supposed to be filming, so they ended up televising what was supposed to me one man's private cockroach observation moment.
Anxiety gives us pop-up ads inside our head that convince us we’re inferior somehow.
a disabled activist i follow on instagram said “take time to get to know your body in a soft and tender way far removed from the medical glare” like 6 months ago and i haven’t stopped thinking about it… i DO deserve to know my body in a forgiving and understanding way
do you guys wanna see me quickly and effectively piss off psych majors
people with a mental illness or neurodivergence know better about it than you ever will and a good majority of diagnostic criteria (especially for neurodivergences) is actually incredibly lacking and desperately needs to be updated.
Something one of my nursing tutors said that really stuck with me:
You do not, and cannot, know how it feels. You should never say you do to your patients. You do not and cannot know what it is like to be that person. You may know about their illnesses, you may have started to know them through your care of them, but you dont know their own, personal lived experience. Even if you have the same condition yourself, even if you've been where they are now, their experience will be different from yours.
Your job as a nurse is to listen to them, empathise with them, and help them with what they need.
It really stuck with me, and it made me very conscious of my language and behaviour as a student nurse, and it absolutely applies to every aspect of health. I can talk about my experiences, I can share my knowledge of the science behind health, I explain the theory behind an option you are given as a patient, but first I must listen. It's your care and your needs and your life, and I cannot know what it's like to be you. So I should listen to you, your choices, your fears, your needs, your opinions, respect them, and help you as you want me to.
I'm neurodivergant, and have a bunch of physical and mental health issues. I still have no idea what it's like to be anyone else, even if they have the exact same neurodivergance, physical and mental health issues.
You are the expert in being you, always.

Science says fibromyalgia is an autoimmune disease in which specific self-directed IgGs attack nerve roots. This is TREMENDOUS news. I’m super excited to see this from so many angles. Finally maybe doctors can stop saying people with fibro just need to exercise and be less stressed. We ALL can stand to exercise and be less stressed, but fibromyalgia is a physiological process caused by an autoimmune attack, and won’t be cured by yoga. And like every other autoimmune disease out there, it causes fatigue and brain fog in addition to the pain it causes. Now maybe we can start looking at treatments that work instead of platitudes that shame.

Yet another reminder that faking is a conscious choice that you make.
It is not something you can do accidentally, regards of what you're talking about.
You can't accidentally fake depression, or anxiety, or bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia, or any other mental illness.
You can't accidentally fake Borderline Personality Disorder, Histrionic Personality Disorder, personality disorders.
You can't accidentally fake ADHD, autism, Tourette's Syndrome, auditory processing disorder, aphasia or any other neurodivergence
You can't accidentally fake being trans or ace-spec or aro-spec or any other LGBTQIA+ identity.
You can't accidentally fake chronic illnesses like CFS, fibromyalgia or any chronic illness.
You also can't accidentally fake being good/intelligent at something. You didn't fool your peers into reaching your position.
You can't accidentally fake trauma, PTSD/cPTSD, DID/OSDD/DDNOS or any other trauma-based disorder.
Tldr:
Faking is a conscious choice.
You cannot do it by accident.
If you are worried that you are faking, that in itself is proof that you are not.
and that’s when Docker happened…
