currently haven’t watched “rise of red” descendants movie but I’ve seen a few TikTok’s about Uma mentioning Carlos, and saying, “don’t do it for meit’s what he would’ve wanted. so don’t do it for me, do it in honor of him.” thus implying he passed in between the last descendants movie and this one. idk if it’s just me but I don’t think they should have had Carlos canonically pass away in the movie universe. Like I know it’s meant to be a tribute to Cameron Boyce and honor his portrayal as Carlos but I liked to think that the actor and the character were two separate things. Even years later it’s very sad Cameron passed, but I don’t think it should’ve taken away from the chance to at least keep his character alive because he was such an important character in the original series that brought sm joy for fans. Cause ngl I would’ve preferred Carlos would to remain an offscreen character who’d probably be off to college or something.

And again, I know the “Royal Wedding” implied that Carlos couldn’t make it to the wedding but I honestly just assumed that Carlos was busy or was possibly traveling lolll

Unpopular Opinion: Big Red and Ashlyn need to stay together in Season 4.

(This is going to be pretty long, so feel free to scroll if it’s too long for your own taste!)

Okay, so I’ve recently finished season 3 of my favorite show: HSMTMTS. It’s been a huge rollercoaster, to say the least, but I like to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the last episode of the series. I think this episode has a satisfying conclusion to the Wildcats’ summer, and I think it is by far my second favorite season aside from Season 1, of course. I don’t think anything could unmatch the Rina love confession, seeing Kourtney sing her way through Let It Go, and get to say hello to Big Red, and goodbye to Nini for the final time. It’s safe to say that I’m very much looking forward to Season 4 whenever it comes out. Anyway, that’s enough of me talking about the finale. It’s time to talk about Big Red and Ashlyn.

The writing and camerawork has made it super obvious that they are pushing for Maddox and Ashlyn to be together. While I love Maddox as a character, I just think she’s the one for Ashlyn. I can already sense their being conflict between her and Big Red in the next season due to Maddox (she’s probably going to transfer to east high) so it makes me feel a little disappointed. However, I’m holding on to the possibility of despite Ashlyn’s growing feelings for Maddox, her heart belongs to Big Red. Now, let’s get this show on the road.

Reason 1: Big Red is Ashlyn’s #1 Supporter

I cannot stress how much of a sweetheart Big Red is. He has been so in love with Ashlyn since Day One, and will always be. Starting in Season 1, he was one of the first people to notice how talented she was. A prime example is presented when Big Red is helping Ashlyn carry food for a get-together with friends. They spark up a conversation on how Big Red ended up in the theatre as a crew alongside Ricky. This leads to Big Red complimenting Ashlyn, “The only thing I’d throw at your face is a brighter spotlight because I like the way you sing.” This compliment makes Ashlyn feel seen for the first few times that season. Despite playing a supporting character in the first season, Big Red sees her as a star who needs to learn how to shine first.

This is displayed many more times throughout the show, but another example is nearing the end of Season 2, after the spring musical, Beauty and the Beast has been performed. That season, we got to see Ashlyn take the spotlight and shine as Belle. To congratulate Ashlyn on her performance, he makes a poster spelling out Ashlyn’s name on light bulbs. “I’ve always seen your name in lights,” He goes on to explain, “You were the perfect Belle. I was proud,” Big Red has always been so kind towards Ashlyn. I feel like aside from physical touch, words of encouragement, full of love. The same goes for Ashlyn with Big Red. She always cheered and supported him when he first auditioned for the musical in Season 2. I just love their positive energy with each other, and I think that’s what a long-term relationship need.

Whenever Big Red and Ashlyn are onscreen, their chemistry is always there. Even before they were together, the show makes it clear how well they mesh together. The looks Big Red gives her every time Ashlyn performs, the looks they share with EACH-OTHER, meaningful conversations with the other person, and Ashlyn shielding Big Red during the storm are what sell them to me. The little moments are so worth it because they truly sell every scene they are in. Especially their kiss scene in the last episode of the first season. I adore how their kiss scene isn’t this huge love confession. It's just Ashlyn being amazed by Big Red’s tapping skills, and giving him a big fat kiss. How cute is that?

Their conversations don’t feel forced. The thing about Big Red and Ashlyn is that they don’t have to say much for them to be on the same level. Despite their conflict in Season 2 where Ashlyn wasn’t exactly supportive of Big Red’s initial career choice, Ashlyn communicates with Big Red by showing up and wearing a Salt Slices shirt. Ashlyn doesn’t have to verbalize anything to Big Red for him to know how much his choices mean to her.

Reason 3: They are SOULMATES.

What else can I say? I think that they’re truly meant for each other. Yes, as a person you make mistakes, learn from them, and grow as a human being. That doesn’t mean Big Red and Ashlyn can’t accept change and grow with each other. I’m hoping in Season 4 that Ashlyn realizes that Big Red is the one for her, instead of it being Maddox. Big Red and Ashlyn already have a special bond of being that extremely cute, and dorky couple. They are the most unproblematic ship (aside from Rina) in the entire show. They’ve already built a foundation of trust, friendship, and love. I think Redlyn deserves a chance in Season 4 because they deserve to be together. It just would be a shame for them as a couple to go to waste, and I don’t think I’m ready for such a drastic change if they were to ever break up.

Unpopular Opinion about Zombies 3: I think Addison should have stayed a human.

I think it’s nice how she figured out who she was, and got to play a big role with the aliens, but I feel as though something was missing, personally. In my version, the aliens mistake Addison’s white hair as one of the defining traits of an alien. Her being an alien would’ve been further proven when Addison gets beamed you by Motherboard. The whole reason behind Addison getting beamed up is for a special reason.That reason is to find out the aliens true plan so she can unite the werewolves, zombies and aliens together in order to bring them to their Utopia.

It turns out that Addison had a rare genetic that only a few percent of people on Earth had. Initially, Addison would get super disappointed and confused, thinking that maybe she could’ve been an alien. She admits to herself, like in the second movie that she believed life would’ve been easier if she were an alien and fit in somewhere. Somewhere where everybody properly understood how it felt to get mistreated for their differences (obviously not to the same degree but u get my point) She feels more upset that she’d set herself up for high expectations, only to get disappointed and realize maybe she wasn’t as special as she thought she was.

However, Zed and her friends comfort her and tell her that it doesn’t matter whether she’s human or not since she’s special the way she is. For my version of Zombies 3, Addison eventually realizes that she is special and does belong in Seabrook, human or not. Addison remembers how she was surrounded by friends and family who have loved and supported her differences this whole time. Support is what Addison needed because her whole life she’s always been insecure and believed something was missing about her. She’s always been ashamed of being her true self. It would’ve been very nice to see Addison be able to accept herself and not try to fit in amongst other people all the time to try and find out where she belongs. (Prime examples are when Addison changed her whole clothing style and adopted wolf characteristics when she found out she could’ve been the great alpha) I believe instead, this plot line would have rather strengthened everybody’s relationships with Addison.

And if you’re wondering, the Scout’s most precious thing in Seabrook turns out to be hidden in the DNA of A-Spen, A-Lan, and A-Li because the Scout Commander chose the aliens as the ones to find Utopia. There is also the fact that their Scout Commander also considers the aliens as her family and holds a motherly relationship with the three of them.

If audiences still wanted Someday (reprise) and ‘I’m Finally Me’, it could nonetheless be incorporated. Instead of Someday being after Addison leaves, the characters all sing it after they graduate to celebrate their unity. Meanwhile, Addison’s song would take place after she’s figured out she isn’t an alien after all. This is after Addison comes to accept that she does a place in Seabrook. This song would take a whole new meaning, as it would mean Addison embracing her true self and knowing that she does have her worth at Seabrook.

But again, that’s just my opinion about the movie. Personally, I feel like it would have served as a better conclusion for Addison’s dilemma. Either way, I thought the movie was very enjoyable and I’d definitely watch it again :)

Since the trailer for Season 3 has just come out, I can’t help but notice that the photos used to advertise the upcoming season includes Ricky being next to EJ and Gina. It’s most likely implying the possible romance between Ricky and Gina this season. I feel Season 3 is going to be a good one for us Rinas and I’m super excited for it. Yes, while Ricky and Gina aren’t super close to each other, their definitely much close than EJ is with Gina lol.

I wish Kristoff had a bigger role in Frozen 2. His character was so interesting in the first movie. I’ve looked at a deleted scene that had to do with one of the fifth spirits that were water so it included the horse. In the end, it was revealed that Kristoff was lying this whole time about liking his life in Arendelle, shocking Anna about his revelation. The scene was very interesting and I would have loved to see that plotline play out for Kristoff. It really would’ve given Kristoff more screen time, make his character important to the story, and we would see scenes where we can see him find his place in Arendelle because Kristoff has never had a luxurious life like Anna’s and would find it difficult to fit into her royal life. It’d also be nice to see a real conflict between the two that makes both Kristoff and Anna think about what they want in their relationship together for the first time. I found them boring here and sad how most of the scenes we got of Kristoff and Anna was Anna being annoyed by what Kristoff was saying and a couple of scenes of them being cute together. Kristoff was no help whatsoever through the journey because he kept worrying about proposing to Anna while she was busy and clearly stressed. Overall, I think that should have been the least of his worries at the moment. I understand that he was really excited and nervous and wanted to get things over with but it still annoyed me.

Time to face reality and the fact that Portwell is happening. I wouldn’t be surprised if by next episode those two are in a relationship or finally start dating, it’s really nothing to debate now. Portwell is season 2 endgame but that doesn’t mean Rina is dead, actually they are far from it. I will defend this ship till the day I di3, call me delusional I don’t care:). I just don’t think it ends here. Miscommunication is a strong theme here.

and none of this has been addressed this season thus far. Ricky and Gina are still not communicating and we are on episode 10 of this season. We don’t know where Ricky’s mind is in regards to Gina at all, and I get it because he is trying to work through other parts of his life currently. Which, is making Gina feel like there was never any reciprocation on his part, that isn’t true though. That shot of Ricky staring down at the dog tag after their talk makes it pretty clear that Gina’s words very much affected him but he didn’t get the chance to process those feelings because he was beginning his romance with Nini again. The closest we got to Ricky coming to terms with liking someone that wasn’t Nini was ep 6, and 7 of last season… but Gina left and everything with them was brought to a halt. 

Now that Gina is back they really haven’t gotten that opportunity to be completely honest with each other. Ricky was in a relationship and Gi really made it clear that she didn’t want to ruin that. And with Portwell happening and Gina getting into a relationship, we could see Ricky having that same apprehension when he finally realizes his feelings. 

It just puts these two in a frustrating cycle of not being able to voice how they really feel. Unless one of them (which really has to be Ricky) gets brave enough to go after what they really want they’re just stuck hurting one another unintentionally. 

The thing is though, that conversation is almost surely coming at the end of this season. It just has to, that doesn’t mean everything will be solved and presto Gina and Ricky are in a good place again, but it will at least open the door of building up their relationship and starting on a ground of honesty and trust. Which has been severely absent between the two this season. 

These two aren’t going away anytime soon, especially it being this late in the season and nothing- not even steps toward a resolution have been made. More so if you take into account the emphasis their relationship had in 2a. It’s very clear they are carrying their issues into season 3 and are going to explore it in more depth and hopefully more so on Ricky’s side this time around. 

This is all pretty much speculation, but is what I really see moving forward for Rina with what we have been given.

lol portwell scares me. The ship isn’t terrible, I can see why people would ship it but I get more afraid every episode that’s to come that portwell will be season 2 endgame. I'm just really tired and I want Ricky and Gina to communicate. I know that this is a slow burn but we’re suffering rn 😭 I was hoping for us to see a Jealous Ricky but I hope we can see that in season 3 and that Ricky and Gina will be endgame at last. When they are endgame, I hope we can get a fourth season so we can see moments of Ricky and Gina as a couple without them breaking up or anything like that.

I know this is considered old news, but there is going to be an HBO Max Harry Potter series! It’s currently in development though. But if I could choose the topic of the series, I’d really want it to be about the four founders or Hogwarts or the Black Sisters. I’ve always been curious on how Hogwarts was created, Salazar Slytherin’s betrayal to his closest a friends, and what the founders were truly like along with their backstories.

And with the Black Sisters, I’d like to see Narcissa, Bellatrix, and Andromeda's relationship. We’d finally be able to see Andromeda, Tonks’s mother and one of the few Black families that had been cast out. It would be cool to see how the three sisters interacted together and Bellatrix’s obsession with serving Voldemort as his Death Eater slowly unfold. And because the whole series would take place in the 60s/70s would be nice to see their fashion from that era! Honestly, the possibilities are endless for the Harry Potter universe!

(There is also a Harry Potter fan-film called Sisters of House Black that is based off of the three Black sisters! It’s amazing, and I’d totally recommend it.)

I think Remus Lupin is very underrated! I think Remus is such an interesting character. Lupin is also super wise, and sort he sort of reminds me of you’re nice uncle you’d always go to for advice. I also appreciate how he always stayed humble despite being a werewolf and so many of his loved ones dying. I would’ve liked to learn about Remus Lupin’s life as a child and what it was like adjusting to becoming a werewolf at such a young age along with how he acted around the Marauders. Wish he could’ve gotten more screen time in the movies though.
