Quick Unspooled Thread update:

I think we are nearing the halfway point of chapter 21. As is the way of things, real life and how much I dislike writing balls (I’m sorry @velvetcovered-brick you know there’s so much to them). But once finish chapter 21 is finished and we start getting into chapter 22 (ep 4 of season 3) then we will be more comfortable publishing chapters on a regular basis again.

These chapters, if you can believe it, are much longer than previous seasons. This is because we have more material that directly involves Penelope and Benedict to work with, rather than working with their side character plots to make them main characters in the past two seasons.

So this makes them a bit more laborious when writing BUT hopefully even more of a treat for our readers.

So be excited, friends!

Also I would to take this moment to complain about all of the freaking side plots happening during the Innovations Ball 😆 @velvetcovered-brick and I talk about it and I complain cause it means fixing and weaving and navigating because we are a canon rewrite fic, meaning some things we have to keep the same within reason (Francesca’s plot for example) or how we change Cressida’s and Lord Debling’s plots to make narrative sense.

In short, THE BRAIN! IT HURTS!!!

Unspooled Thread News!

Hello readers! Just a small update on where we are since we're still in hibernation mode with posting.

Chapter 18 just needs one last glance over for final minor things that have been noted, then it is COMPLETE!!

Chapter 19 is ready for edits and will be worked on starting today!

Chapter 20 is in progress!

Our goal was to have at least 4-5 chapters written and edited before we picked back up on posting. It's actually going great, too. The lack of the two week deadline has helped the words flow easier and it's made these chapters a little meatier as a result. (Chapter 19 is 106 pages before edits! Wonder if I can make it 110 after with suggestions and fleshing out? Lol)

We still do not have a firm date for when posting will resume because, you know, life happens, but if we keep up the trajectory, my own personal estimated date range is still possible!

Also! We want to thank The Romantic Wallflowers discord server and those who thought of us for nominating us in several categories with Unspooled Thread (and some of my personal Penthony fics)! We placed SECOND for Best Rare Pair story (oh god I think that was the category? Correct me if I'm wrong, it's been two weeks 😂) and we are humbled enough people have read this and chose to vote for us. Especially being the in-progess, massive story that we are and the AMAZING fics we stood next to in the category. Thank you, thank you! 🥰🥹

Also, we are looking to possibly have some in-story art done for scenes in the next few chapters. Due to the scenes' subject matters and the ideas we have, they cannot be AI generated right now. This art will tie DIRECTLY to specific scenes and elements and therefore need a certain style AI cannot achieve to our satisfaction.

If you wish to throw your hat in the ring, we can discuss a commission price or you can be rewarded with early access (you would get access to the scenes in question as a part of the job, this would be in addition).

We want to thank everyone who keeps being so supportive as you all wait for the next update. We are working so diligently to give a high quality penultimate season for Ben and Nel while also providing results to suggestions and wishes you as readers have vocalized. And don't you worry, our favorite animals Rapscallion, Mayhem, Newton, and even Adonis are present! Every character will get the care they need and we are going to make sure as many plots and stories get told and wrapped up as best as possible. No one gets left behind, even if they aren't part of the story's canon like they are in actual canon. Relationships will form, strengthen, begin to bud, and even change shape. Drama, smut, fluff, plenty of humor and more await all of you. We appreciate everyone, even newer readers, yes you too! Maybe we'll throw a few curve balls and cheeky bits to keep you all on your toes!

All that said, thank you for accepting this story; it's been not quite a year since we've started posting and over a year since we started writing it. Thank you for a blessed 2024 and we hope we can bring you just as much joy in 2025 with our season 3!
