I will be ok when I sit by the sea for 5 hours
being mentally ill with a supportive vs. unsupportive family
I feel like this is a spectrum
I feel like this spectrum also has a Y-axis, but I don't know what's supposed to go there.
In light of prev's tags I've come to the conclusion that the Y-axis can be "I caused this" vs "I had no part in this" and Frankenstein would be bottom right quadrant
I love not playing along
"she's gained a lot of weight lately" "oh, good for her"
"on the wrong side of 40" "huh, which side is that?"
âïžI am not playing along with youâïž
"She's on wrong side of 40" What, you'd rather she was dead?
Oh ok so it turns out ive been borrowing grief from the future ! it turns out ive been preparing to lose the things i love rather than basking in the light of them while they last. Maybe i should nt do that

Same bullshit, different year
Youâre God damn right I donât want to work.
If I was evil I would get a realistic mannequin that's exactly my size and passably looks like me from a distance, and occasionally dress it up in my clothes, pose it on the balcony, and just leave it there all day. For as long as nobody sees me take or leave it, they can just wonder how and why the fuck does that one neighbour occasionally spend 16 hours just sitting or standing at the balcony, in the exact same position all day, without moving a limb.
how dare the item of clothing i developed a weird attachment to and have worn almost every single day since i bought it start to show signs of wear
Spiritually, 3 am is the darkest hour of the night. The people who stay up late but not insanely late have gone to bed, people who wake up early but not insanely early are yet to wake up. The only people who are awake are the night shift, and the insane.
there's a jewish story about a rich man who goes to his rabbi to ask him about building an orphanage, and the rabbi is like "yeah duh go for it!!" and then later the rich guy comes back and is like "actually I've decided not to... I was just doing it for my own image and not coz I cared about orphans" and the rabbi was like "bitch the orphans don't care why you're building the orphanage!!!" and sometimes I wish I could say that to lefties who haven't unpacked their christian upbringing. sometimes motives don't matter!! who give a fuck why a politician wants to do a good thing? bitch the orphans don't!!
I am one of those lunatics who fucking love dressing up for fancy formal occasions. If I figured out how to get the opportunity, I would go out of my way to have more formal occasions in my life just so I'd get to wear a suit for them. Boyfriend's cousin's confirmation party is today and beforehand I asked his mom if there's any particular dress code. I was reassured that we don't ~have to~ get all dressed up.
Like ma'am I don't think you understand: This isn't a matter of whether I have to, it's a matter of whether I get to.
an interesting linguistics find! so I'm reading this text from 1908 and it keeps referencing "hp" in the context of "not being at full hp" "applying your full hp to a task" etc
and I'm like....... okay that is a perfectly normal way to describe energy and reads totally clear to me, but I KNOW you don't mean hit points/health points which is the first place my brain goes, so what are YOU using hp to mean
and it's not explained in-text, which means it was common enough to not warrant explanation to the 1908 audience, so gotta look elsewhere
horsepower. turns out it's horsepower.
and I'm absolutely FASCINATED that a commonly used initialism from 1908 now stands for something different AND YET the contextual meaning is still the same to a 21st-century reader
I could hand this guy my nintendo switch and he'd be like, ah yes I understand, this ''''pokemon'''' loses horsepower throughout the fight
language is amazing
If you're having a private phone conversation with the phone off your ear, no headphones, and the speaker on in public, that's a public conversation now. That's an open invite, and I'm going to chime in if I have an opinion. This is now OUR disagreement about your boyfriend's spending habits.
"you can use ai to improve spelling and grammar"
if youâre wondering why spellcheck and grammar check is worse now, itâs because they replaced it with AI! đ„°
now, instead of maintaining a comprehensive, nuanced, and human-maintained encyclopedia by which to check your document, they have switched to an AI that just compares what youâve written to what other people write in, say, Google Docs, and use the most commonly used iteration.
ever have it change something like âall intents and purposesâ to âall intensive purposesâ or âshouldâveâ to âshould ofâ? thatâs why!
people make the same spelling and grammar mistakes so often, AI thinks thatâs the way you say it because it is a PATTERN DETECTOR and cannot THINK let alone use language.

i love hearing about the declining birth rate like yesss that is a major problem considering our dominant economic model. a problem i plan on contributing to đ joining the war on declining birth rates on the side of declining birth rates
