( JACKIE. )
She tapped her finger rhythmically against her phone case until he responded. As her phone began to buzz she scanned across his message and tilted her head curiously.
Well that was unexpected. But certainly not unwelcome. Although now she couldnāt take any time to make herself halfway presentable. Not that she looked hideous. She just lookedā¦tired and disheveled. Her hair splayed in different directions and she was only decked out in pajama shorts and an over-sized band hoodie that went halfway down her thighs.
The buzzing of her phone brought her back to her senses. At the ālolā portion of his message she couldnāt help a small smirk. The way that he texted could be so endearing.
With that she bounded out of her room to the front door. When she opened it to see him with his head up against the wall and a disgruntled look on his face she tilted her head curiously.
āSoā¦ālolā huh?ā The faintest smile worked itās way onto her face. āYou have such a way with words.ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā only when he heard the door open did he push himself off the wall to face jackie. he quickly took in her appearance; she didnāt look like she had just woken up ( jakob was grateful for that. the last thing he wanted to do was inconvenience her more than he already had. ) but it was difficult to ignore her clothing: shorts and a large t-shirt, leaving the majority of her legs exposedā¦
Ā Ā Ā Ā he quickly glanced away and locked eyes with her again.
Ā Ā Ā Ā at her comment, jakob pursed his lips in an attempt to hide a smile. he thanked whatever god was out there that it was too dark at night for her to see his complexion. for some reason, his face felt warm. ā shut up, ā jakob said, but there was no bitterness in his tone. ā itās too lateā earlyā whatever, to be eloquent. ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā jakob then noticed the faintest tilt of her lips. there was no hiding his smile now. he shoved his hands in the front pockets of his hoodie before nodding to the door; a silent question for permission to enter.
Jackie chuckled softly,Ā āYet you use the word eloquent.ā The moment he had let himself smile she swore her heart had skipped a beat. But she quickly pushed that realization away. She stepped aside from the doorway so he could come inside and prayed he couldnāt see the faint blush on her cheeks.
Her apartment was bathed in a faint warm glow from a floor lamp she left turned on. She had took a seat on her couch and looked to Jakob, a faint glimmer of concern in her hazel eyes.
āSo whats up? Itās pretty late.ā She ran her hands through her hair in an effort to smooth it out.Ā āDid something happen?ā
