The funny thing is... I don't think Jaskier meant it when he said "Turns out there was nothing behind it".

He knew why Radovid was there and it broke his heart, but we know that's not what he thinks about him because of how he talked about him to Vespula.

And by 'funny' I mean devastatingly painful of course 🥲

I think Jaskier knew why he was there, but still had hope that he wouldn't go through with it for the sake of Jaskier.

He just wanted to hurt Radovid the same way he hurt him... 💔

If Radovid actually managed to get out before Vizimir got assassinated and went on a run with Jaskier, that would mean Geralt would have not one but TWO heirs apparent as his charges.
