This is the blog of a small dinosaur that likes drawing in class. You will find here mostly Tolkien Fanart and pokemon stuff, often both at the same time. There is some old HP stuff, and now Les Mis ! Enjoy !
I realised there quite a lot of things here... So, to help navigate this blog :
Everything I drew is tagged "DinoDreams", so if you're looking for drawings by me, use this tag to help you !
I also reblog things that have to do with critical thinking, media literacy and digital literacy. These will be tagged "EMI" for "Éducation aux Médias et à l'Information" or, in English "Information and Medias Education".
I draw and sometimes reblog crossovers between the Silmarillion and Pokemon. These are under the tag "pokemon mithril"
Finally, I have a story in writing, a crossover between the Silmarillion and Harry Potter. Everything that has to do with it is tagged "inkstained history"
The rest is what strikes my fancy but there is always at least one tag.
Finally finished coloring the gorgeous gorgeous lineart of Luthien dancing made by @peasant-player ♡ The og version was so perfect, I still feel like I did something illegal coloring it ><
Stegosaur forever. It might be a bit basic but it's the first dino I remember really liking as a child and really, tiny head/big plates/spikes is an amazing combo !
However as an adult I also really like tiny raptors, I find them cute. I like telling the kids at work about microraptor and bambiraptor ^.^
If you get into white work embroidery, you might discover cutwork. And when you start doing cutwork, you might get curious about incorporating detached elements. And before you know it the fabric is gone, you are making needle lace, and there goes the rest of your week.
I usually imagine Huan as like, slightly bigger than a normal dog, around the size of a pony or small horse, but I also adore the idea that he was absolutely unreasonably gigantic, especially if Celegorm got him while he was still young.
Imagine Nerdanel seeing small Celegorm coming home for dinner, and he has twigs in his hair and mud on his clothes a the biggest smile on his face, and he excitedly tells her "Ammë, Oromë has gifted me a dog, you have to come see!" And Nerdanel is like "thats nice honey", not really paying all that much attention because kids say alot of strange things and there is a 90% chance that Celegorm has just adopted a raccoon or something, but she follows him outside and there's just this giant mountain of a dog. Like he genuinely won't even fit in the house. And with great horror it dawns upon her that not only do they now have to take care of a sacred but very dangerous animal that could easily swallow her son whole, not only do they somehow have to feed this thing, no, the worst thing is: he's still only a puppy.
For Tolkien Duck Week, I offer you Sharpcrest the Resounding, and Goldfeather the Fair, two lords of Gondolin exceptional geese in the service of Idril Celebrindal, Daughter of Turgon flock of Dolien the Goose Girl.
Sharpcrest is a greylag goose and Goldfeather is a rare endangered swan goose (the long yellow head feathers are not typical of the species).
You can read (marginally) more about them here.
I did confirm geese are in fact permitted in this event, being long-necked cousins of the noble duck in case anyone else was wondering. Originally wanted to have more geese but this took FOREVER omg why are feathers so hard to draw
Here's my first submission for this year's @fall-for-tolkien, Maedros gives Elrond a goodnight kiss! I feel like it's been forever since I drew kidnap fam content (though I drew one for TRSB loll), so drawing these two was quite nice <3
This was so fun to do. I have only made a lineup once before, and I like how I can see my improvement here, as well as the evolution of my style for them.

Maedhros: I talk a lot about Maedhros and Himring´s fashion here - black is an expensive colour to produce, which is why I think it is sought after, with white, in Himring, since it is dark most year round, most residents pick one other colour that stands out, Maedhros here choosing the colour of his house, since Himring is hostile for a lot of plants, botanical embroidery and jewelry are a status symbol. The clothes are shorter than other Noldor clothes to better move through snow.
Maglor: Maglor, as a bard, can wear longer, more impractical clothes in his day-to-day. Clothes from The Gap have a less dramatic shape and usually lighter colours than clothes for Himring, as well as a division between colours, thus, Maglor wears red, grey blue, and yellow.
Celegorm: As a hunter of Himlad, Celegorm doesn´t really dress up in Noldor court robes, and instead ends up with something between the Sindar and the Hunt of Oromë. He wears grey clothes in different shades with plant motifs on them to better blend in, and the clothes is cut so as not to restrict his movement on foot or horse.
Caranthir: I HC Caranthir as the richest of the brothers, which is also why he has so much jewelry, and so many textile techniques in his clothes - his clothes are meant to look heavy, and mirror Thargelion's wooden climate, with the bear fur, and dark colours.
Curufin: Curufin´s clothes are very clothes to Nargothrond style, but a bit even in the cut, with more layers visible. He is wearing a lot of contrasting colours in his clothes, as well as jewelry that is both silver and gold, to stand out.
Amras: I like to think the Ambarussa was spending a lot of time hunting in their youth in Valinor, but when coming to Beleriand, only Amras kept on exploring the wild and made friends with many of the Avari, which is what his outfit is inspired by, a mix of Avari clothes and Noldor.
Amrod: I go with the crispy Amrod version here, and after the insident I HC he had a lot of chronic pain so he became more of a scholar, which is why he can wear so long robes, also to make up for his look I like to think he did a lot out of his clothes, making sure it was the finest, as well as his jewelry.
