Introducing… The Dreadlight! This creature was inspired by Tomahawk Angel, a super cool manga that has a bunch of awesome monsters and designs, so go check it out! I kinda had no idea what I was doing with the lighting or shading since I rarely use it, but I think it turned out acceptable.

Anyway, here’s some info on The Dreadlight:

The Dreadlight is a solitary creature, often found in the dark streets and alleys of desolate cities.

It hunts by hanging the glowing orb at the end of its tail in front of its face to hypnotise and lure prey, primarily going after individuals that are alone or have been separated from a larger group.

Staring at the glowing orb on its tail for more than a few seconds will cause individuals to enter a hypnotised state and be drawn to the light, with repeated or prolonged exposure causing symptoms that range from nosebleeds to seizures.

The best way to survive this creature is to move to a high place (such as a rooftop) if you encounter it, as it is a poor climber and it cannot view high places because its head is too heavy for it to lift far off the ground.

If you know you will be travelling through an area with a Dreadlight, it is advised to stay in a group, as it will rarely go after prey that is not alone or isolated.

Decided to do some art of my moon mite OC Rat! I’ve never really ended up doing anything with my characters after designing them, so I’m quite happy that I hade enough motivation to do this

Also some fun facts about Rat:

Primarily goes by They/Them, but doesn't really care what others call them

Does not like humans. Doesn't exactly HATE them, just thinks they're gross and weird

Does NOT like being touched, and makes this very clear to any who try… primarily by mauling them

Bit their own tongue a bit too hard one too many times and has lost almost all feeling in it, which is why it just hangs out sometimes

100% anger issues, this alien rabbit is a ball of rage that hates the universe

For some reason they really like cat food, often sneaking into human homes to steal it. The resident cat sometimes ends up as desert

This is Splot, my Moon Mite oc 😁. I recently discovered the wonderful universe of Moon Mites (made by @puzzleddonkey, go check them out their art is awesome!!!) and now I’m obsessed! I know my art isn’t that great, but I hade a great time drawing this :)
