Adalaj Stepwell or Rudabai Stepwell is a stepped well or "baoris" located in the small town of Adalaj, in the Indian state of Gujarat (in this state they are called "vav")
It was built in 1498 in memory of Rana Veer Singh by his wife Queen Rudadevi and is considered the most beautiful and fascinating step well in India.
These wells were used to collect rainwater and celebrate different rituals. This particular one has 5 floors or levels, all exquisitely decorated.
