“Anxiety is the dizziness of freedom.” - Søren Kierkegaard, The Concept of Anxiety
The second Full Moon of May arrives like a wild horse cresting the horizon, blazing through truth-seeking Sagittarius. Opposing Uranus in Gemini and forming a tense quincunx to Mars in Taurus, this lunation stirs restless winds and frayed nerves. Energy scatters in a dozen directions, irritation simmers beneath the surface, and the longing for freedom grows impossible to ignore. With Lilith standing close to the Moon in Sagittarius, the call to reclaim untamed parts of ourselves echoes even louder.
Meanwhile, Mercury, moving with confidence through its home sign of Gemini, reaches out in a harmonious sextile to Chiron in Aries, the wounded healer. Amid the revelations and awakenings this Sagittarius Full Moon may bring, this sextile offers a bridge between insight and expression, helping us find the words to name our truths and give voice to what has long remained unspoken.
Guiding this lunation is Jupiter in Cancer - exalted, powerful, and standing alone without major aspects - amplifying emotions, intuitions, and the significance of whatever unfolds. Yet there is steadiness here as well. A supportive connection from Saturn in Aries to the Moon acts like an anchor in rough waters, offering wisdom, perspective, and the grounding needed to navigate the intensity without being swept away by it.

The abundant New Moon in Taurus arrives hand in hand with messenger Mercury and in harmonious sextile to generous Jupiter, creating a lunation rich with manifestation, expansion, and earthly magic.
Venus, ruler of this lunation, currently moves through communicative Gemini, lending power to language, song and spoken intention. With Taurus also governing the voice, affirmations carried aloud - whether whispered softly, spoken with conviction, or sung like prayer - may hold particular potency now.
Yet beneath this sweetness stirs another current. Assertive Mars in Aries stands alongside Chiron, the wounded healer, awakening old insecurities and casting light upon the tender places where we question our worth, our courage, and our capabilities. Though uncomfortable, this confrontation reveals the distance between the person we have been and the person we long to become; between the life we are living and the life we want to claim. In exposing these vulnerabilities, it also illuminates the path toward healing, growth, and deeper self-possession.
Ruler Venus also forms a loose square to nebulous Neptune during this New Moon, blurring the edges between illusion and truth. Neptune, ruler of mirrors and reflection, invites a ritual of self-confrontation: to look directly at ourselves while speaking these affirmations aloud. There is something profoundly transformative in witnessing ourselves - fully, honestly, tenderly - as we speak our becoming into existence.
The artwork pictured is attributed to Ustad Osman, and depicts Venus astride a bull, whilst below her are representations of Mercury, the Moon and Mars which I thought was particularly relevant for today’s New Moon!

"Healing may not be so much about getting better, as about letting go of everything that isn't you - all of the expectations, all of the beliefs - and becoming who you are." - Rachel Naomi Remen
As the final planet—Mercury—glides out of Pisces and crosses the threshold into Aries, it closes the chapter on a long, lingering era of Piscean tides. In its wake, a rare and radiant beginning emerges: six planets gathering in the bold, “fresh start” fire of Aries, joined by Chiron, the wounded healer.
This courageous New Moon, closely entwined with healer Chiron, marks a powerful turning point - a return to the truest version of yourself. It speaks to the quiet, often hidden wounds around identity, and offers a chance not to change who you are, but to embrace it more fully. In this moment, healing comes through honesty - through shedding old expectations and standing, unapologetically, in your own essence.
Mars, ruler of this lunation, stands strong in Aries and draws into close alignment with Saturn, offering both the fire to act and the discipline to endure. With Pluto in Aquarius lending its quiet, transformative support, there is a deep and steady undercurrent urging us forward—toward authenticity, toward courage, toward becoming.

Less Perfection / More Authenticity
The drifting tides of Pisces still linger as they give way to the rising flame of Aries beneath today’s Venus-ruled Full Moon. We find ourselves hovering between compassion and assertiveness, as we contemplate the dynamic tension of self and other - you versus me - along the Libra-Aries axis.
Nurturing Jupiter in exalted Cancer casts a piercing eye upon both Sun and Moon, urging us toward harmony, reminding us that inflation - whether of self or of the other - disrupts the equilibrium this lunation seeks to restore.
And yet, the heavens burn with an Aries stellium - Sun, Saturn, and Neptune - insisting on a sense of urgency, of selfhood, and of the pull toward I before we.
This feeling deepens as Venus, sovereign in her earthy Taurus realm, forms a challenging square to Pluto in Aquarius - a force of solitary transformation. Under this influence, we may find ourselves unafraid to walk alone, to sever what is stagnant, and to release the bonds of relationships that no longer breathe with life.

"What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from." — T.S. Eliot
The New Moon in Pisces arrives as both a closing and an opening—a quiet threshold between what has been and what is yet to begin. It marks the final exhale of Neptune’s long dream through Pisces, alongside Saturn’s shorter but weighty passage, as both now slip across the horizon into Aries.
At the final breath of Pisces, this New Moon meets Neptune and Saturn, suspended between endings and emergence. Here, the waters of completion dissolve into the first spark of fire—Pisces’ boundless ocean yielding to Aries’ first flame. An era softens into memory as another stirs awake.
Echoing through this liminal space, Mercury moves retrograde through Pisces, hand in hand with the North Node, gently urging reflection—an invitation to gather the past like scattered shells before stepping forward. Mars lingers nearby, quickening the tide of feeling, pressing the moment toward motion.
Neptune, now newly kindled in Aries, rules this lunation—its vision sharpened, its dreams set alight. With subtle currents of support from Uranus and Pluto, this beginning may arrive swiftly, a quiet ignition that reshapes more than it first reveals.
