Leon’s rounded, fluffy ears flicked suddenly underneath his hair, completely hidden from view, but still able to listen to the surrounding environment without issue. He followed after the younger, much smaller Chain.
"He has his Contractor with him, but I agree."
Then again, there was no telling when Lily and Bandersnatch would be spit out from the Abyss. It could be an second now, or years from now, as upsetting as that notion was. Time in the Abyss was irrelevant.
"I doubt I could really wait around the Doors, though. Lotti needs me more than ever now, and Fang needs you. I’m sure they’ll meet up with us when they get out."
With a sigh escaping past his lips and his arms stretching high over his head to combat the feelings of pure laziness, the lion plopped down next to Tove and needed his fingers into the soft dirt and grass underneath them. The earth was cool; it felt nice on his nails and fingertips.
“…Better than nice. Such a change, wouldn’t you agree? I mean, between what happened in Sablier, and being trapped in the Abyss, this is pure heaven, if such a thing exists.”
Tove glanced towards his companion, arms raised over his head to pull out the hood of his cloak to serve as a cushion beneath him as he lay down. He shifted until he was comfortable, sharp claws making nonsense-patterns on the soft ground at his sides and he let his eyes fall shut with a sigh of content.
"I'm with ya," He murmured, crossing his ankles together, "...If 'eaven did exist. D'ya think we'd go there when we 'it our time?" He asked quietly.
Perhaps it was a stupid thing to ask, considering their role of duty in the world. He always thought of the Abyss as some sort of holy land, but it was home. So if heaven did exist, wouldn't it be there? The Abyss was a place full of golden light once upon a time-- He couldn't even remember that. Was it even true? Or had the existence of chains been the cause for the Abyss' destruction instead of the core's growth?
Funny how these kinds of things were a mystery even for them.
"Eh-- Don' mind me. I is just beat." He grunted after a while, draping an arm across his face.
The last thing he really wanted was anymore depression between them. They were family-- they were supposed to make each other happy, not to keep reminding one another about the past and where they stood in this... war. Yet, the ocassional slip up would always happen, especially with him.
For he was the type to speak before thinking.
