The phrase "the way out is through" just came to mind as I reflected on these cards. Integration comes through moving deep within, by seeing the self with all light and shadow and embracing the whole.

This morning I am reflecting upon the changes we are seeing called for by the people the whole world over. We can see that the current system, rooted in colonialism and patriarchy and expressed as capitalism, is not working. The whole earth is crying out for change; heat waves and fires; ongoing destruction of old growth forests. And the system is fighting back against those who are standing for change... it is pushing back against the collective growth and expansion, it is howling as if to say "no no, this is fine, just leave it as it is."

But the collective is not able to do that -- the World represents integration, freedom, grace, victory - the 6 of Swords represents transition and passage; the connective depth between people. Change is coming, and we are called to begin the work to shape how we want that to look.

I had a dream last night:

I am being handed dried plants, the tops of them only, akin to skull and antler. I take them, mourning for all they once were, and plant them in the earth, acknowledging their lack of roots. My tears water them, and they begin to bloom.

The Empress; the way in which we enter this season. There is birth waiting to happen, the ground is ready, the seeds planted, fruitfulness inevitable. What will you grow? What will you pull from the ether to build in this world? Trust your intuition, you know what to plant; when and where.

6 of Wands; the past leading into this season. There is victory coming, deserved and hard won. The exhaustion you feel is real, you may need rest, but you are here. You are still here.

Page of Pentacles; the present moment. Opportunity, investment, growth. Hope and faith, that is the nature of planting. Signs suggest that the growth will be abundant and full of blessings.

Ace of Wands; the foundation to build upon.

Inspiration and passion; it is time to listen to what your heart is actually telling you, the song your soul is truly singing. Build on your own dreams, your own true desires. This will feed and nourish you to keep going when it is hard.

You have the ability to plant that which seems as though it will never grow and make it bloom. Spring is here, and miracles of growth and rejuvenation are at hand, your hand.

I had a dream last night, of a warning I was trying to give. I was helping someone move and a woman from their past resurfaced; sweeping them up in grand gestures, rushing them to come away with her. I woke with the warning not to rush at this time, whatever history there may be.

Cards: 7 of Cups, 10 of Swords, 6 of Wands; Knight of Pentacles

Choices are here hard and fast and there feels like an urgency to choose. There’s an understanding that there are extreme possibilities here (whether admitted to yourself or not). This could be the final straw (sword) that signals the end of your ability to hold on, or it could be a glorious victory that comes from dedication and hard work.

The key is in the Knight; slow and steady. This Knight believes in magic, face upturned to the sun, but knows that right now is not the time to charge ahead, but to plant the seeds and hold to grace. Things will be revealed in due time.

What is shifting in shadows right now, dearhearts? There is something we almost see, but not quite yet, almost feel, but not quite yet.

There is a feeling of holding back; of trying to keep up a wall, the attempt to protect ourselves. Perhaps from facing the ways in which we have hurt others, or failed to be the people we want to be... But all the research and understanding we have gained means nothing if we don’t put it into practice, including facing those parts of ourselves we’d rather hide.

These three cards together for the collective indicate a chance to heal, to build together, but we must put relationships with others before our pride, and we must avoid the trap of giving into fears of what we think we see in the shadows. It is time to step forward into a totally new journey; one that benefits ourselves and others.
