Unsure which it would be considered (IE abelism or etc) but mistaking the uses of "media" and "source" in fictkins and fictives.
They cannot be used interchangeably. (And shouldn't be!)
IIIIIII'm not sure about this one? Soooooo leaving this one to the crowd.
I don't know, maybe I don't care as much because I'm a median system with my past lives as well as a holothere and a changeling (reclaimed). I use source a lot but maybe I'm just uneducated. 😭

I mean, they can’t be used interchangeably because not all sources are media? But there’s no reason why one has to use one or the other. Some systems also use the term “canon” or “bonist” depending on their source.
Not as familiar with the kin side of things or where the term originated but the use of the word “source” in both communities has been listed on Pluralpedia since November 2023.
Tbh I think the biggest problem is straight up the lack of respect that you see. I had a sourcecall/media call group on a social media that has since been deleted, and one of the rules was very simple. Only systems may refer to their call as a sourcecall. It was paired with some rules like if you are an introject, clarify if you are okay or not with kin responses and if you are kin, respect that.
Simple rule. Seperates calls so that introject don't have to communicate with kins if they don't want to. Or at least lets them prepare themselves for it if they do.
However, I had multiple rude singlets in my dms telling me about how evil and unfair this was because "source is a kin word and not a system word!" Backed up with a bunch of random Tumblr posts as their point of reference. I don't know a single person who thinks in their day to day like that source as a term belongs to kin and not plurality, and Ive spent the last six or so years in these communities.
When it gets to the point that the larger community uses a word (especially a word that already was a common word before, neither community made up the word "source"), you just have to understand that that's the community that uses that word for a very specific thing, and even if a smaller group of people still uses it to mean something else, you have to be understanding when you go into the larger communities space.
If you don't want to see systems using source to specifically refer to other systems, don't go to spaces made and hosted by systems that use them in that way. If instead of barking in peoples dms about this and that and what this word is used for, everyone minded their own business, topics like this wouldn't come up all that much. And honestly, you'd probably have more introjects willing to talk to kins.
