Legion Lore Hot Take (Yes I’m doing a 4th one, oh man)

I love it to death and Julie being confirmed as the evilest one is unexpected and just *chefs kiss*. However, the lore is formatted horribly and fucks with the continuity really badly. The discrepancies are all focused around the last piece(s?) of lore so uh yeah

SPOILERS

Okay, so you know how it’s stated that the Legion was the name of the gang? Well, it was pulled out of Julie’s ass literally before the gang inadvertently kills the Janitor. This fucks with the justification of having Jeff in the picture. Jeff did the mural for Frank in the lodge. This mural clearly depicts “The Legion”. But the problem stems from the pace at which the story accelerates from Julie naming the gang forward. After the Janitor is killed, they take the body to the lodge, bury it, and then they get yoinked by the Entity. There is no time to get Jeff to make a mural, no time to design the signature Legion masks (why this is not touched upon fucking melts my brain, it’s their whole shtick!), the fact that Julie murders the Janitor before Joey and Susie can take part in the murder, and no time for the Legion to be a gang for real. It’s just really annoying and I hope the Devs amend the initial lore of Legion to make the story flow better. A few sentences is literally all it needs to save the story from total redundancy. Hot take over, I’ll see you next time the lore gets extra spicy.

Also so why is Julie’s default outfit just Fem!Frank if she’s wearing something completely different when she’s grabbed by the Entity, according to this new cutscene and lore? Fucking plot holes... Hate em.

From the promo images and whatnot, the Killers and Survivors seem to get along. So if we assume that say; The Trapper is good friends with the original 4, but everytime he sees them in a Trial he sees his father about to hurt him again - then the relationships between Killer and Sirvivor get a lot more interesting…

It could be far too early to say but could this be setting up a future storyline for the game that leads to conflict between certain survivors and killers fighting the Entity and the killers who support it? If so, I’m salivating at the lore we’re gonna get.

Caleb is not evil, if anything, he is one of the most sympathetic killers to get added to this game to date. He’s an Irishman who was racially abused (ethnically abused, etc) because of his identity and only felt the desire to harm those who blatantly harmed him. He didn’t kick puppies, he didn’t harass women, he is literally just a poor bastard with a brilliant mind that was fucked over multiple times by the rich and powerful. Justice for Caleb.

Doctor Lore Hot Take:

Did you all forget who Herman Carter is? He’s not some soft boy gone bad, he was fucked up from the second he got the job. He always had a lust for power and control, look at his initial lore, his addons, etc. Plus, we’re seeing Herman in his mid to late twenties or so in Ascendance. If it makes you feel better, he most likely changed since he first became interested in neuroscience. He most likely still had to deal with harsh criticism and scorn because of his race. The point you all have to understand is that BHVR has said multiple times that Herman is perhaps the second most evil killer in the game (second to Michael). He’s evil in one of its most perverse ways and the new lore doesn’t change who he is, it adds a new chapter to his life.

Kazan is really interesting...

Sure, he’s a heartless and bigoted samurai that hates anyone that isn’t a true warrior but he was a father who most likely lost his shit after his son died. As it explained in his addons, Kazan’s son never recovered from a fall and I believe that moment set him off on this whole “Fake Samurai” hunt. Kazan is a bad dude but if what I’m saying is true, he’s just a broken and disturbed father who couldn’t handle the death of his pride and joy.
