I’ve put to much time and effort into this blog that makes me not want to delete it but I don’t want to do anything more with it so it’ll just sit here.

I finally decided take make a blog.

Let me introduce myself and the other two who lurk around on my account.

Hi I’m Alex Knight (He/Him). I’ll be the main guy on this account. The two lurkers are my best friend/roommate Helena Laviolette (She/Her) and my other friend Atreus (He/Him). I also have two dog familiars named Circe (looks like a Belgian Malinois) and Perses (looks like a Cane Corso) that I’ll probably talk about.

I’m a devil arms dealer. I buy, study, and sell devil arms. I also dabble in other things but that’s not important. Helena has taken over her mother’s practice and magic shop and Atreus works with Devil May Cry.

That’s pretty much sums up everything. Everyone is welcome to ask me and the other two things.

*A very overwhelmed and almost groggy Alex opened the door with Perses at his side. Vergil was hit with Alex’s weird presence. He could feel the demonic energy that was weaved into Alex.*

*Alex paused looking away from Vergil to check if Atreus was actually home.*

*Alex stepped aside letting Vergil into the house. Perses immediately sniffed at Vergil inspecting him making sure he wasn’t an immediate threat.*

Perses can lead you to him.

(Vergil slowly stepped inside, having little idea where to go, but following Perses closely. He wondered at just why Atreus' roommate gave off such a feeling. he would need to monitor that. For now however, he had to worry about his newfound son.)

*Perses lead Vergil towards a living room area. The sound of laughing and the skittering of paws could be heard.*

*As Vergil interned the room he found Atreus on the floor playing with Circe. When Atreus noticed Vergil and he paused.*

*Circe let go of the end of the toy she was pulling on to investigate Vergil herself. Perses left the room to go back to Alex but not before giving Vergil the most side eyed look a dog could give.*

(Vergil stood still, letting Circe investigate as he looked at Atreus.)

Hello, Atreus... I... was wondering we could talk.

(His voice was slow, rehearsed. He had practiced this. Nero and Dante both having convinced him to try. Why had this been easier with Nero?)

*Once Circe was done she left the room also giving Vergil the stink eye. Atreus got up and tossed the dog toy he had into a basket of other toys.*

Um yeah sure I guess.

(Vergil was used to glares. He was just unused to receiving it from animals. How... strange.)

Where would you like to talk?

(He decided to ask. Nero had insisted he not made his brother uncomfortable. Dante had also given him a long list of things to try and do to make this conversation go smoothly. Vergil could only hope this worked...)

*atreus fidgeted swiping his thumb against his nose.*

(It was odd to see Nero's habits echoed in Atreus. He wondered if it was a habit from Cerys he had been forced to forget.)

(He said, wanting to not stress his new found son out. He was trying to make this easy for Atreus... So far he was likely failing...)

*Atreus lead Vergil towards the back of the house and out onto a porch. He gestured for Vergil to sit wherever he like then Atreus started the little fire place heater up. Once the fire was going Atreus sat down across from him.*

Just as... Just as Nero was entitled to some answers, you are as well. I want... to explain why I was not there, to the best of my ability and... help you understand your origin. Nero appreciated such and... I have figured that you would as well.

Yeah, I would. I’ve made assumptions over the years but to get some actual answers would be nice.

(Vergil nodded, his expression carefully blank.)

I... shall tell you about your mother and I. Or... what I can remember. Cerys has been able to fill many blanks, but my memory is still... incomplete.

(His eyes narrowed for a moment, as though focusing, as if he were trying to say something difficult.)

(Vergil nodded, before he looked to the fire.)

She and I met when I was 16. She worked at the library and I had to sneak in to find information I was looking for. She caught me and yelled at me for tracking mud everywhere...

We saw more of each other after that. Cerys is... she is smart, she put together that I was not some tourist. When she saw my white hair and what I was researching, she figured out who I was, who I was descended from. I told her she was right.

By the time I was seventeen, we had become friends. and I was starting to look into varying ways of getting Sparda's power. I did not wish to be weak, to be chased by demons constantly. The order of the Sword helped, but I was still chased.

Your mother helped me search, and when I had to leave to throw them off my scent, she kept looking for answers. Shortly before she turned eighteen, she asked for a relationship. I had never been in one, i did not know what to do. I did eventually say yes, after some mishaps that I cannot quite remember, but it did involve flowers and a heartfelt apology.

Regardless, for her eighteenth birthday, I took her out on a date, used Yamato to take us to every beautiful location I had ever been too while I had been on the run. She loved it, but we had been attacked. Despite my best efforts, she was still hurt.

I ended up leaving Fortuna, visiting often and leaving trinkets for her to enjoy, but I never stayed for more than a few hours. The armies of hell dogged my step.

Shortly after I turned eighteen, I met Dante, whom I thought had died, when I returned to Cerys, I told her of it all. She was happy I had rediscovered some family. She was also able to tell me about the Temen-Ni-Gru, which became my goal.

Eventually... I could barely visit Fortuna. Demonic activity was spiking there, and I worried that they would find Cerys through me and kill her.

I ended up making a ring from my power and body, something that I poured everything I knew into to keep her safe. I gave it to her proposing to her that day. I then said that I would no return until I had claimed my father's power and destroyed the source of the attacks. The ring would keep her safe, but only her.

I... raised the tower, and was trapped in hell... I last saw her when she was nineteen, a year from when she is now. I... do not know what happened to her, but your brother is searching with her help...

*Atreus was silent for a moment just processing Vergils words. Then he spoke.*

I- I remember hearing my adoptive parents mentioning the tower while growing up.

Truthfully I assumed the relationship between my biological parent's was a horror story given what I am... It's relieving that my assumptions were wrong and I come from people who actually loved each other.

My dad told me a little bit of about the night I was taken in by them. I don’t know how much I wasn’t told though. Clearly things were left out.

No, a cambion such as yourself and I can only be made through a loving relationship. I... was never explained the specifics, but from the thousands of... unions between devil and human, only those that happened with consent and joy bore fruit.

(Vergil said, before he paused Atreus' last words.)

Your... parents saw what happened?

Yes, they saw a woman who was being attacked by demons. They were able to get most of the demons but a couple got away taking the women with them.

I wouldn’t put it past them if they were the one to have separated me and Nero.

This doesn't make sense, that ring should have protected her from... It would have hidden her, but not the two of you... I have not planned on having children, so I didn't make two extra items to protect the two of you from detection...

I don't believe they would have worked, since you hold the blood of sparta. But it may have helped hide her...

(He sighed... more and more he was wondering if the apparition of Cerys he had seen Mundus use was truly her and not just a fascimile as Trish had been.)

*Atreus wiped his thumb against his nose again. He sat up more straight and stared into the fire.*

You are not to blame. You wee only an infant. I am the one who left, even if my reasons were justifiable... But... with Cerys here now, that can change. We may be able to give her another chance. A chance for you and Nero to grow up together and with her.

(Vergil sighed, his pale eyes lost in the flames.)

Did ever want kids down the line if things when the way you wanted?

I had... never given it serious thought. I had been running for over ten years by the time you were conceived. Cerys and I never had the chance to speak of it in depth aside from possible dreams.

I... suppose I did not envision myself with any, because being able to settle down enough to have children was a mere dream.

What were you guys like when you got time to be together?

(Vergil smiled softly.)

We would read to each other a lot. I tended to read her poetry, and she would read me fiction, usually mystery novels or high fantasy stories.

We often would talk about the meaning of poetry or some plot hook or other in her novels.

When she had no obligations and I was certain it was safe, I would have Yamato take us to distant places. She quite enjoyed the French Alps and the Forests of Scotland. We walked a lot, and hiked. When she didn't feel up to that, she would teach me board games.

She taught me many games, but she quite enjoyed the game of the goose. She always won, but... I was never mad. She was always so happy to manage to do so.

*Atreus let out a laugh as he ran his hand through his hair.*

My bio parents have a better relationship than my adopted ones. I would have never thought that.

(Vergil did not quite know how to respond to that. Did he apologize for Atreus having terrible adoptive parents? Did he tell him more of himself and his love? Did he stay silent? He didn't know Atreus well enough yet to decide. He ended up just being... quiet, watching Atreus with a patient stare, and as open of an expression as he could manage. Attention and an open ear was good in nearly any situation, right?)

How would you describe her? Cerys what’s she like?

You met her, albeit briefly... She is... she incredibly kind and understanding, yet she does not take any nonsense. She is stubborn and resilient. She is a self made woman, she built herself up and did not allow anyone to get in her way. That strength, that power, it is something I can only admire.

*Atreus hummed and nodded. He could understand what Vergil meant. He admires Helena for similar things.*

When you were on the run what was that like for you?

It was... there was no stability. I second guessed everything because there was no one trustworthy. It was what made your mother all the more stunning, she became trustworthy in a world where I could trust no one.

I was never safe. Mundus had planted demons and human worshippers looking for me. Unlike Dante... I did not know to hide my name, to never use it. I did not try to hide who I was. I just ran. Demons would attack spontaneously, suddenly, uncaring of those in their wake. I was always in danger.

No one could protect me, no one was strong enough to. It was why I sought power, why I chose to do what I did. But... At one point, I lost my way, i forgot why I wanted power, why I was chasing it.

"Without power, you cannot protect anything, let alone yourself." That was the motto I had lived by. But... I have since learned that... that power without those to protect and share it with, is also a miserable existence.

I only gained that form long after you were born. I wonder if it came from my father, as I did not exhibit such features before.

Yeah… I grew up in Catholicism with angelic parents, so definitely not safe.

*He moved over to spot with a little more room and summoned his wings.*

Are you and Dante also similar but different?

Yes, the most obvious is that our color schemes differ greatly. Our horns are also different but that is something that is different for just about every demon. I have a tail and he does not, our wings sit differently on our backs, that that is more of a personal choice of my own development.

Dante and I should look more similar,, due to extenuating circumstances, I look a little different than what I was likely meant to be.

(Vergil explained patiently, looking at the wings with naked curiosity. He took a step forward, watching the eyes follow him. It made him smile.)

Since these eyes are following my movement, I'm assuming you can see through them?

Yes I can. Seeing out of them is different than how I see out of the eyes on my face. Since you also have a form with a lot of eyes I guess I don’t have to explain what it’s like.

They were so disorienting and overstimulating in the beginning.

My eyes caught movement rather than truly seen. They tracked any and all opponents that I might have had. It was not quite disorienting but rather allowing me to be aware of my surroundings at all times in any and all scenarios.

If your secondary eyes do more than that, then perhaps you may need some time to practice or get used to them. To my understanding, all beings have to adjust just having the amount of eyes they are naturally born with, humans need to adjust to having a depth of field in their vision.

If you do not have your wings out often, you may be delaying your ability to adjust.

Going from a 180 pov to basically a 360 pov not an issue anymore.

*Atreus turned back to properly face Vergil.*

My wings might be the only thing from that part of me that’s actually properly developed…

My wings were more convenient and palatable to my dad so I able to actually use them.

Yes. A general dislike towards demons comes naturally with being an angel. I’m pretty sure he also only truly cared about the human part of me. Probably wished I was only human.

I’ll give him credit where credit was due though. He cared enough to not let me die or be killed. He gave life protecting me so his dislike was out weighed. That says something.

I am sorry you had to hide yourself, Dante and I's father was quite open about showing his origin and encouraging it within us.

My... Father? Sparda? Well... He was kind and good, when he was present. He taught us how to fight from an early age, taught us about many aspects of demon culture, was fair, but he would leave often. He had to ensure the seals were staying. One day, he simply did not return.

If your secondary eyes do more than that, then perhaps you may need some time to practice or get used to them. To my understanding, all beings have to adjust just having the amount of eyes they are naturally born with, humans need to adjust to having a depth of field in their vision.

If you do not have your wings out often, you may be delaying your ability to adjust.

If your secondary eyes do more than that, then perhaps you may need some time to practice or get used to them. To my understanding, all beings have to adjust just having the amount of eyes they are naturally born with, humans need to adjust to having a depth of field in their vision.

Eventually... I could barely visit Fortuna. Demonic activity was spiking there, and I worried that they would find Cerys through me and kill her.

I ended up making a ring from my power and body, something that I poured everything I knew into to keep her safe. I gave it to her proposing to her that day. I then said that I would no return until I had claimed my father's power and destroyed the source of the attacks. The ring would keep her safe, but only her.

I... raised the tower, and was trapped in hell... I last saw her when she was nineteen, a year from when she is now. I... do not know what happened to her, but your brother is searching with her help...

If your secondary eyes do more than that, then perhaps you may need some time to practice or get used to them. To my understanding, all beings have to adjust just having the amount of eyes they are naturally born with, humans need to adjust to having a depth of field in their vision.

If you do not have your wings out often, you may be delaying your ability to adjust.

If your secondary eyes do more than that, then perhaps you may need some time to practice or get used to them. To my understanding, all beings have to adjust just having the amount of eyes they are naturally born with, humans need to adjust to having a depth of field in their vision.

If you do not have your wings out often, you may be delaying your ability to adjust.

I’ll give him credit where credit was due though. He cared enough to not let me die or be killed. He gave life protecting me so his dislike was out weighed. That says something.

*Alex stepped aside letting Vergil into the house. Perses immediately sniffed at Vergil inspecting him making sure he wasn’t an immediate threat.*

*Circe let go of the end of the toy she was pulling on to investigate Vergil herself. Perses left the room to go back to Alex but not before giving Vergil the most side eyed look a dog could give.*

We saw more of each other after that. Cerys is... she is smart, she put together that I was not some tourist. When she saw my white hair and what I was researching, she figured out who I was, who I was descended from. I told her she was right.

By the time I was seventeen, we had become friends. and I was starting to look into varying ways of getting Sparda's power. I did not wish to be weak, to be chased by demons constantly. The order of the Sword helped, but I was still chased.

Your mother helped me search, and when I had to leave to throw them off my scent, she kept looking for answers. Shortly before she turned eighteen, she asked for a relationship. I had never been in one, i did not know what to do. I did eventually say yes, after some mishaps that I cannot quite remember, but it did involve flowers and a heartfelt apology.

Regardless, for her eighteenth birthday, I took her out on a date, used Yamato to take us to every beautiful location I had ever been too while I had been on the run. She loved it, but we had been attacked. Despite my best efforts, she was still hurt.

I ended up leaving Fortuna, visiting often and leaving trinkets for her to enjoy, but I never stayed for more than a few hours. The armies of hell dogged my step.

Shortly after I turned eighteen, I met Dante, whom I thought had died, when I returned to Cerys, I told her of it all. She was happy I had rediscovered some family. She was also able to tell me about the Temen-Ni-Gru, which became my goal.

Eventually... I could barely visit Fortuna. Demonic activity was spiking there, and I worried that they would find Cerys through me and kill her.

I ended up making a ring from my power and body, something that I poured everything I knew into to keep her safe. I gave it to her proposing to her that day. I then said that I would no return until I had claimed my father's power and destroyed the source of the attacks. The ring would keep her safe, but only her.

I... raised the tower, and was trapped in hell... I last saw her when she was nineteen, a year from when she is now. I... do not know what happened to her, but your brother is searching with her help...

Truthfully I assumed the relationship between my biological parent's was a horror story given what I am... It's relieving that my assumptions were wrong and I come from people who actually loved each other.

Yes, they saw a woman who was being attacked by demons. They were able to get most of the demons but a couple got away taking the women with them.

I wouldn’t put it past them if they were the one to have separated me and Nero.

This doesn't make sense, that ring should have protected her from... It would have hidden her, but not the two of you... I have not planned on having children, so I didn't make two extra items to protect the two of you from detection...

We would read to each other a lot. I tended to read her poetry, and she would read me fiction, usually mystery novels or high fantasy stories.

We often would talk about the meaning of poetry or some plot hook or other in her novels.

When she had no obligations and I was certain it was safe, I would have Yamato take us to distant places. She quite enjoyed the French Alps and the Forests of Scotland. We walked a lot, and hiked. When she didn't feel up to that, she would teach me board games.

She taught me many games, but she quite enjoyed the game of the goose. She always won, but... I was never mad. She was always so happy to manage to do so.

She is a self made woman, she built herself up and did not allow anyone to get in her way. That strength, that power, it is something I can only admire.

When you were on the run what was that like for you?

It was... there was no stability. I second guessed everything because there was no one trustworthy. It was what made your mother all the more stunning, she became trustworthy in a world where I could trust no one.

I was never safe. Mundus had planted demons and human worshippers looking for me. Unlike Dante... I did not know to hide my name, to never use it. I did not try to hide who I was. I just ran. Demons would attack spontaneously, suddenly, uncaring of those in their wake. I was always in danger.

No one could protect me, no one was strong enough to. It was why I sought power, why I chose to do what I did. But... At one point, I lost my way, i forgot why I wanted power, why I was chasing it.

"Without power, you cannot protect anything, let alone yourself." That was the motto I had lived by. But... I have since learned that... that power without those to protect and share it with, is also a miserable existence.

Yes, the most obvious is that our color schemes differ greatly. Our horns are also different but that is something that is different for just about every demon. I have a tail and he does not, our wings sit differently on our backs, that that is more of a personal choice of my own development.

Dante and I should look more similar,, due to extenuating circumstances, I look a little different than what I was likely meant to be.
