If your oc had to look after a group of some sort of animal or other creature and could choose what type of creature it was, what would they pick?

Rayne would pick: Miniature horses! (Regularly-sized ones would tower over her because she is smal 🤏)

Sendoa would pick: A sanctuary of beautiful tigers 🐯

Yasashi would pick: A jar of snails because he's all about the snails, but also because he's so tired and confused all the time that he'd need to take it easy!

Solar would pick: A ravenous pack of MARIMO MOSSBALLS!!!!!! Actually probably moreso an aquarium; is a school of fish cheating considering he likes tending to his own fish tanks in-universe? 😆

Banken would pick: A hound of energetic puppies to play with!

— 🦀🦀 MINIKUI IS GONE 🦀🦀 —

Landfill!Minikui (The one who would be prominently featured on this blog) is officially gone; he hasn't died, but I've zapped him from existence story-wise. I don't mind the idea of retrofitting a new character to play the role he seemed to play with the rest of the characters but with more.. character, to it; here are two design ideas for a character that would likely maintain a cute, naieve personality, but with their own actual traits instead of the shallow ones that Minikui would proceed to have because I felt like I had to stay true to how he was personality-wise and morally before the events that, in his main timeline, made him matured, better at keeping his cool and knowing how to act in scarier situations, amongst other things; which would render this capture of his past-self, living a fairly happy life, therefore likely rendering him a spoiled brat and unlikeable compared to his main timeline imo

Kiroda

This one is a bit self-explanatory; a fanchild of sorts 😆 HEY THEY CAN HAVE A FANCHILD IT'S A ROBOT!!!!!!! Perhaps he'd been built from scraps! Or she? My OC roster could use more female characters 🤔 I'd probably not name them Kiroda if they became canon though because Sendoa and Kairo would probably come up with atleast a little creative-er of a name than that for their commissioned kid!

Gears

Placeholder name to the moon and back.. I'm thinking that like the backstory ideas I have for Rayne and Kinzoku, this guy would be a robotic child build for cosmic people who couldn't have biological ones; like one of those animatronic reborn dolls; probably not the same company though, maybe a competing company with Rayne and Kinzoku's though as it doesn't seem like something that's often persued in at all IRL, so I don't think it would be in my abc 123 alien robot story either; currently, Gears' colour scheme is just as conceptual as their name; but one thing for certain is that I'd want them to be in their single-digits; a more modern robot!

Gears could learn and grow over the years and end up different when they're older even (I like to think that two IRL years = a year going by in-universe? I'm not sure about that yet; with Minikui gone I don't have to worry about one of the characters consistently being my age, but I don't want them to all just remain static like in a cartoon! The passage of time plays a big role in people learning and growing, I'd want that with my OCs too even if for a bunch of robots it probably wouldn't change very much)

A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE SERIES!!!

Ok, so I'm almost definitely the only person who looks at the stuff I post here; that's why I still post here! 😆🤷🏻‍♂️

Minikui has been there at the very start of this series, as the character that the story is told around, like Fireheart is for the first volume of Warriors; but I am finding myself becoming more and more confident in the idea of removing him from the story. And here's why;

The Landfill originally started as a vent story I began writing in Foster care, about a character who was created as and for the longest time considered my self-insert OC, deciding to run away from his old life and consider himself garbage, waiting to be incinerated in a tech landfill before finding other scrapped robots he felt like he belonged with; this wasn't based on anything IRL and was more a plot I came up with for comfort, as it continues to be to this day. My other OCs in the story are completely unique characters that by developing as time goes on, I also use to learn about different kinds of people, differnet ways they can react to different situations and why, and different moral standpoints from.

Eventually, those OCs became interesting enough on their own, and Minikui would be so sheilded in the story from bad things happening that could've taught him to learn and grow in ways I have IRL that he is no longer a character I feel very attached to at all in this story, as it's likely that he's an immature and somewhat-entitled brat; and I would much much rather include Torn (Minikui in his main timeline, as his feature in The Landfill is an AU) instead and have actually thought of why he would make a part in it too. It's not too developed yet, but maybe Torn, no longer wanting to be a burden on his family but not wanting to die or live on the streets either as it could make them amongst others who care for him sad, he decides to find a place that accomodates for him instead; a home specially made for a slow robot like him; and decides to find a place to live in the Robot Paradise

I don't know how logical that is though, I'll have to think of it more; but as it stands right now, Minikui is probably not going to be included often in the story at all anymore unless I decide to interpet Torn (he'd still be in an AU of course, maybe even outside of The Landfill like, as a version that's identical to the normal one but he's included in it; because his main timeline is supposed to somewhat mimic real life and The Landfill is completely made-up from the start; I'm thinking about it!)

Update on oscilloscope man; she's oscilloscope girl now and her name is Onpu, which means music note; but I don't really know if that works? Also it's a Japanese name which I've really been trying to halt because I have way too many of those in my OC group and am still really trying to come up with a different one for Yasashi 😆 there's also one named E-30 which is her friend:

I like to think her name is what it is simply because her creator came up with the idea for her at 3:30PM because he was uncreative like me coming up with both of these characters' names (I might change this one in the future too 😆)

I haven't thought of backgrounds for either yet, but I'm writing both of them into a story which also develops Rayne more called Robot School, where it's, rather shockingly, about a school for robots with learning AI on Solar's robot sanctuary planet FJDJF and I like the idea that Rayne, E-30 and Onpu end up being a friend group

I love this design though, I wonder if he could be Minikui's replacement since I'm thinking of ditching\killing him off in from The Landfill for good (He's probably an unlikeable spoiled brat realistically, or generally uninteresting here; because instead of the original intent of being stuck in a tech landfill fighting for survival in this AU like it used to be, they all live in a nice little house now 😵

Actually continuing on that, I think them living in a robot paradise ruined the cool story I initially created for these characters, and I kinda want to bring it back somehow without scrapping Solar's arc entirely 🤔)

With him being Minikui's replacement though, he wouldn't act identically to him or anything; he'd probably still be Yasashi's best friend maybe? Because I think the dynamic between him and Minikui is sweet and wouldn't want to get rid of that as a whole; it is food for thought for sure; or my thought atleast 😆

Chisana's name has now officially been changed to Rayne! That's one of two names I want changed done; the next being Yasashi!

So if a living, breathing person besides me was to look at this blog and wonders who Chisana is, that's just Rayne before her name got changed to something more suiting! Hopefully it's not too Karen-y of a name though 😵

And for those who know the game series he's the alien species from, IT'S LIKE HE HAS THE WEARABLE 'LITTLE BUDDY' ITEM IF YOU PUT IT ON HIS HEAD

And here's a picture of the modern version VS the first version of him that I made, I believe I sewed this one in late 2020 but I don't remember, I know the first one over on the right came to be in 2019! Which was a very experimental year for me in terms of sewing

The one on the right used to have an antenna but I used that one as a base for the modern one's antenna, I just covered it in new fabric and stabilized it more with hot glue; here's a rare picture of the first one on the day I finished it! I added SO MANY touch-ups since those times; and even a design change, with which he'd gotten paw pads and furby-like feet!

The antenna looks like it's bent the other way but I think the picture is just weirdly backwards for some reason? Because his antenna was always bent to the right; either way, it's an interesting piece of trivia about a beloved OC that really did get turned into a marketable plushie!

I'm thinking, I always say that if Kairo considers the rest of the bots in his house to be his kids, would that be including Banken? Kairo may be warming up to him but he still dislikes him, doesn't tend to include him, and he's a 48 year old robot who can definitely fend for himself (being a guard robot) even if he's naieve and gentle; so technically I say he'd consider himself to have four kids but really, his kids are Minikui, Kinzoku and Chisana because they're actually kids, meaning he has three. A Landfill mistery solved, thanks to me and my raging Autism!
