Renko Log #1

Day five. Good news! I stole a notebook. Now when I die someone will know that, failing all else, Renko Usami began her career as the Fantastic Notebook Napper. Tsukumogami might hate me already. Or like me. I don't pretend to know how this works. Do they even exist? I haven't seen one. Maybe I did. If I could understand these people for shit I'd ask. Their dialects give me a headache. I'm an astronomer, not a linguist, damn it.

I wonder if anyone's noticed I'm gone yet. Mary must've. Don't know what she thinks. Probably has people looking for me. 

Do you think she'll come looking for me too? I mean, I don't know if it makes a difference. I didn't see a gap. I don't remember falling through anything. 

I don't know if I even want her to come looking for me, to be honest. If she does she might end up stuck here with me for her troubles. Don't want her to have to rot in this shack forest. God that'd be the worst. She's so smart, she's got so much going for her...I dunno, maybe she'd find a way out. She could, if anyone could.

Not sure what I'm hoping for most. I kind of need everything. Somewhere to sleep I don't have to break into would be a start. I'd go out on my own but I don't dare leave this place. I saw something lurking at the edge of town last night and I'm convinced it was looking right at me. I'm...no, man. No, no. No. Renko says Fuck That. I'm not leaving town.

Getting too dark to see. Gotta stop. Will probably survive the night but weirder things have happened lately so I'm not hedging my bets.

Speaking of Demon Ghost women, Mima is confused. Whenever she lools at Renko, she finds herself full of loathing and hate. Very odd. "... Your hat is dumb." First impression: nailed.
