Max Thieriot in Disconnect.
You're a horrible person for doing that to her.
“Better heartbroken than dead.”
AU: Militant Dogs || the-loyal-assistant
Another cold, horrible day at work. However, calling it work never quite fit.. He preferred to call it Hell, really. So, as Davros slid into his flat, and shrugged off his jacket, he was already in more of a sour mood than normal. So as he tossed the jacket onto the floor, the Kaled ignored the endless stacks of mail that had been piling up. Instead, he gazed around the rest of the room. Oh, he wished he hadn’t. Because there on that couch was the last person Davros wanted to see.
“Beast.” It came out as a harsh whisper, filled with the pain of betrayal. That man was supposed to be dead. Pressing his index finger against the palm of his opposite hand, Davros had to check he wasn’t dreaming. He’d taken his medication this morning as well. There was no other option. That had to be him. The fact that he was even breathing sent rage through Davros’ veins. What sort of coward would fake his own death? “Get out. I don’t allow corpses in the house.” On another day, Davros might have said that as a joke, but today wasn’t that day. Because this man, this friend, was dead to him.
As soon as he pulled that trigger, Nyder had been out for a few hours. Even through the pain that his plan had caused, he took off to find Amy, to save her her. However, he picked the wrong alley to run down, and was blind sided by a few thugs. He woke up in the morning, and his wallet, keys, gun, and shoes were gone. Nyder had protected her by giving himself up. He couldn't risk showing himself to her, lest Alex see that he was alive still. He checked on her once, just to make sure she was okay, and hasn't seen her since.. No matter how much he wanted to. So, he went underground to wait until he was completely off the radar. Now he just had to get his friend back home with him.
It'd only taken Nyder a few seconds to pick the lock to get back into the flat, having lost the key earlier. Upon entering the small home, the only thing that had changed was his friend's notes had spread out into the main room. He didn't even bother with his room, but instead went instantly for the comfort of the couch. It wasn't as comforting as it used to be, though.. Like it was missing something.. Or someone..
Ripping him from his thoughts, the door swung open, but Nyder didn't greet his pal. He let Davros speak first. "No, but I'm flattered you'd think that." That was his poor attempt to lighten the mood. "Dav. Come on." It wasn't a plea. It was an order. They'd been on this planet long enough. It'd changed them both, for better or worse, it was time they went back home. Back to the fight they had been putting off for so long. "It's time we went back home."
OOC: Heeeeeey guys. Sorry I haven't been on lately. Between the night shift, classes, and pregnancy, I've been going out of my mind lately, and have little time for role-playing. However, my scheduels been cleared up, and I'm back in the saddle. So. I'll get to replies right away. Let me know if you want to plot or anything.
Dead Kaled Walking || Forgottenpond
The rhythmic clicking of worn our combat boots reverberated down the empty road. Stopping to check his appearance in the window of an empty car, Nyder grimaced. The extra stubble he could deal with, but the blond hair was something he would never get used to. The things he did to disappear. He must have walked down this street hundreds of times, just to make sure she was safe. Every other time Nyder had simply walked past, but today was different. Today he walked up to the entrance of Amy's house. With a steady hand, the soldier knocked twice on her door, hoping she was home.

Her new found enemy seemed a bit restless, out of place even and those were two visible traits that made her happier than most things. “You asked for it.” she stated plainly before diving into her explanation. She didn’t see a reason to lie to him, it’s not like he was armed or had any semblance of power over her, especially not after her mutations had taken route. “I travel through time, I am from the future. Do not bother asking any questions because I am not going to provide any answers, but that is the basis of my story. Unlike you, I am fully capable of escaping into eternity, so I do believe you have lost this little spat. Run along now.”
Beast. Talk about an information overload. Already the soldier could feel his head "Just-.. Hold up a second." He stammered, trying to sort this all out. "This wasn't even a fight to begin with. Not everything has to have a winner. Just because you're from Skaro, doesn't mean everything has to be war." Since when had he started preaching peace? Perhaps Earth had done more damage than he thought. "Sorry, Ma'am, I'm going to bother anyway." This woman knew who would win the war. She probably had knowledge of all sorts of scientific and strategic advancements. Things that could change the tide of time itself. Nyder would only really get one shot at this. So he was going to ask the one question that mattered. "Do you know if I make it back here?.. Back to Earth?"

On reflex, his hand reached for the gun on his hip that was no longer there. For a few short months Nyder had thought he’d escaped the war. “Thal.” He sized her up, defensive plan already forming in his head. “I am only a follower of the Supremo. Davros is simply a friend.” Nyder answered, slightly perplexed at the statement. Davros was a great guy, but he didn’t have followers. “I could ask the same thing of you.” was the only thing he could think to counter with.
A friend, how wonderful; the bringer of pain and suffering had a friend and yet he still hated the universe enough to create beings designed for only evil. Ethze smiled at both his futile attempt to rally a weapon and his method of gauging his opponent’s strengths and weaknesses. “You could, but I do believe I asked first. I would be honored if you shared with the audience.”
He was a trained soldier. He had killed plenty of her kind before. So why was he getting so antsy about this? This short time on Earth had tossed him out of practice. Starting a fight wouldn't do him any good. "Fine. We got stuck here, that's all. It's all over my head, so there's not exactly a lot to tell you. We were, uh, looking for a ride back.. Got a bit sidetracked" Nyder answered, gaze flickering around the area, praying more didn't appear. "Go on, then. Your turn."

“Kaled.” she hissed under her breath; having thought just one of their kind would find their way here was clearly foolish of her. “Follower of Davros, no doubt. What do you want?” The fire within her eyes was enough to set an entire planet ablaze and if these Kaled children continued to show up she was afraid that might just happen.

Super Soldier ||
Pain filled his chest as he inhaled his first breath. It was if he had breathed in two grenades, and one hundred knives. Going into a coughing fit, Nyder forced himself onto his side. He looked at the stun gun in his hand for a moment, before tossing it to the side. The useless thing only had one charge. Still, it had saved his life. "First rule of Kaled Warfare: Death was better than capture." He said, the command presence of his voice returning. Faking it was just as good. Finally getting his breathing under control, Nyder forced himself off the ground, and onto his feet. As he began to take a step forward, his heart rattled dangerously in his chest. The magic trick would have brought his body to the edge of it's limits. That wouldn't stop him. Without even thinking of the consequences, the soldier broke out into a run. He just hoped he could make it in time to Amy.
Well, there's still the situation about Davros, but I guess one at the time is better then nothing. *He takes his cell phone out of his pocket, pressing a few buttons, and then nods.* Done. Go ahead.
"Nice knowing you, Alex. See you in Hell." He could never understand the concept of Earth weapons. So as he pressed down on the trigger, Nyder welcomed the familiar blue light coming from the end of the barrel. It was like an old friend, though normally he wasn't on the receiving end. Nyder released the trigger, the electric blue pulse firing right into his temple. There was a pause. A second later, the Kaled crumpled to the floor. His grey heart was as still as stone.
Nyder, he's bluffing! Shoot him, not you! Don't leave me here alone. Please.
"Calm down, Amy. Go home, grab a snack. Take a few deep breaths. I know what I'm doing."
Now how do I know you're not bluffing? Why the sudden change of heart?
"I've got a gun to my head. Deactivate the bomb or whatever in Amy. I pull the trigger. You give her Darcy back. Everybody wins."
Well I would've thought you were. All sounds like a love story to me. Coming to a different planet, falling in love. Sounds very romantic. You know, I could be lying. I could be bluffing to get you not to shoot. Or I could be telling the truth. *He spread his arms out like an eagle.* Go ahead, soldier. Make your choice.
"Fine. Call it what you want." The response was short, and void of emotion. "What about a fourth option, yeah?" Nyder moved the barrel, so it was pressed against the side of his face. "You let Darcy go. You cure Amy from this stupid bomb. You get me. Right here, right now."
Oh, tell me something I don't know. Why she wants to be with you is beyond me. Maybe she has a thing for bad boys. Alright, whatever you say. Yikes. Thought you might be just a bit more romantic then that. There's still so much you need to learn, Nyder. Of course it doesn't need to be said. Love is felt. In the heart and the brain. Only the mouth comes into use when things get heated. Just make sure it's six by six, and you can put your girlfriend right along side me. 1/2
See, there's something wrong with her blood. Ever since the warehouse. It's been settling in, owning the place. Because if I go, she goes with me. Back up plans work remarkably well, you know. 2/2
"M'not really one for romance." Nyder shrugged, a fake grin plastered across his face. "Well, they've always said that the reason Kaleds have grey hearts is because of the emotionless lives they lead. Davros says it's got something to do with our iron levels, though. But whatever tickles your fancy." Personally, he preferred neither. At the mention of his plan, his gun dropped half an inch. "You could be lying. About all of this. You've given me nothing to trust you. I should just kill you now, and end all of this. Casualties happen all the time. Even if her life is forfeit, I'd still be able to take you down."
Oh, well. Davros I could agree on. Aw, does that mean I can't go near her, then? I might have already broken that rule. Whoopsies. Wow~ Soldier mode, hm? You know, I'd hate to have Amelia hear that. That you'd rather lose the only child she will ever could and will have, then save it. Oh, complete soldier mode! Lifeless and hostile. But then again, I have a question to ask. About us. It may be a surprise, but I haven't done much to you, at all. Well through a person, maybe. 1/3
Ash, but who really knew she was going to show up there. I didn't, truly. I really thought that you'd just grow tired of Amelia hating you and leave her there. But no. You were just there for her. Because you love her. And that, soldier, is your weakness. I've done nothing to you but looky here - you're pointing a gun at my head. Let's say you killed me. Let's go with the implement for one second that you shot me, and now the baby's lost. You go back, jobs complete.
Everyone's happy. But Amelia. Why would Amelia be happy? Sure, you're there and good and safe, but where's her baby? Where's her kid? Oh, that's right. You've killed the only lead you had, soldier. Why would she love you anymore? Who says she loves you now? You're a murderer! Look at you, even now! Pointing a gun at my head. All the people you've killed. Who would love you? Not Amelia, for that matter.
"Mate, I'm never going to be safe." Nyder forced a laugh. "You're really bad at this."
"She can hear whatever she wants, it doesn't matter. This conversation, right here and now, is between the two of us. Not her. So if she's mad at me for what I do, then fine. Let her hate me all she wants." He cocked the gun back, his grey heart pounding in his ears. "She could hate me for the rest of her life, but that's not going to stop me from putting you in the ground."
"Sorry, Alex. No one said she loved me. In fact, she's never once said the sentence 'I love you', and that's perfectly okay. Because I'm not doing this for Amy. So if you think calling me a murderer, or bringing up every life I killed is going to stop a bullet going through your head, you're dead wrong. I'm a murderer. I've killed so many in cold blood, it's horrifying. That's something I have to live with." He shifted his stance slightly, adjusting to how close he was to Alex. "My weakness isn't that I love her. It's that I'm curious. It's that I stick around longer than I should. I don't know when to give up."
Oh, a gun. You're very scary, soldier. But let's say - you kill me. Bam, bullet straight through my brain - I don't doubt your shooting skills, bet you can make it clean and straight forward. But where does that leave you on information? Where's Darcy? Where's Davros? Where's Amy? Your resource is gone, information for at least a third of it lost for good. Your move.
"Davros is a big boy, he can take care of himself." Nyder took a step forward. "Amy's learned from her past mistake, and knows better than to go near you." Another step closer. "The death of a child is no foreign concept. It was common on Skaro. We understood that the enemy had to fall, regardless of the cost." He stopped moving forward, only an arms length away. "You are in the sights of a Kaled soldier, Alex, and your death the only thing that matters."
