Why?
S2 Vox is so fucking funny. Genuinely competent, charismatic, and powerful, with the single glaring exception of losing his entire mind whenever heâs in a room with Alastor. So obviously he immediately cuts a deal which means Alastor will be in the room for every step of his grand plan. Psychosexual obsession barely covers this shit. Fucking amazing.
I love vox so much the show did him so dirty he deserves the world
Or at least a better show
hey
i mean he does have a point
No. No. You don't get to call this good writing.
Vox could have made season 2 good if it werenât for the other characters & the story & the message & the political themes & the writing & the art direction & the character designs & the jokes & the character assassination & the downfall & the finale & the beginning & the middle & the
So I hate watched Hazbin Hotel season 2 and what I got out of it is that the TV with NPD is the best one and every other character can fuck off actually and I wish he was in a much better show. Like go off king, slay that runway after you slayed all those people. He earned it, itâs ok.
My thoughts exactly I love him heâs the only competent one the other vees are useless alastor is a hell nepo baby & the hotel members are written as complete idiots on s2 even more so than season one he genuinely deserved to win
just my humble attempt at raging against the machine
READ THIS IF YOU PLAN TO BOYCOTT YOUTUBE LONG-TERM
get an invidious account. it is an alternative front-end to youtube, allowing you to make an account, subscribe to channels, make playlists, and all the other things you use youtube for; all without giving the company a single cent. swearing off youtube long-term is a tall ask, so you can use this to still follow the creators you want to keep up with while continuing the youtube boycott. it has a built-in adblock and anti-tracker, meaning that you can really keep fucking them over.
it doesnt interact with the API at all, it scrapes the metadata to make sure they get as little as possible.
the practical revolutionary alternative to YouTube, thank you for this resource
decentralize and clean up your life!!!
use overdrive, libby, hoopla, cloudlibrary, and kanopy instead of amazon and audible.
use firefox instead of chrome or opera (both are made with chromium, which blocks functionality for ad-blockers. firefox isn't based on chromium).
use mega or proton drive instead of google drive.
get rid of bloatware
use libreoffice instead of microsoft office suite
use vetted sites on r/FREEMEDIAHECKYEAH for free movies, books, games, etc.
use trakt or letterboxd instead of imdb.
use storygraph instead of goodreads.
use darkpatterns to find mobile game with no ads or microtransactions
use ground news to read unbiased news and find blind spots in news stories.
use mediahuman or cobalt to download music, or support your favorite artists directly through bandcamp
make youtube bearable by using mtube, newpipe, or the unhook extension on chrome, firefox, or microsoft edge
use search for a cause or ecosia to support the environment instead of google
use thriftbooks to buy new or used books (they also have manga, textbooks, home goods, CDs, DVDs, and blurays)
use flashpoint to play archived online flash games
find books, movies, games, etc. on the internet archive! for starters, here's a bunch of David Attenborough documentaries and all of the Animorphs books
burn your music onto cds
use pdf24 (available online or as a desktop app) instead of adobe
use unroll.me to clean your email inboxes
use thunderbird, mailfence, countermail, edison mail, tuta, or proton mail instead of gmail
remove bloatware on windows PC, macOS, and iOS X
remove bloatware on samsung X
use pixelfed instead of instagram or meta
use NCH suite for free software like a file converter, image editor, video editors, pdf editor, etc.
feel free to add more alternatives, resources or advice in the reblogs or replies, and i'll add them to the main post <3

Gunimals my siblign made drew very good & cool
Iâve got a lot of thoughts about places like this.
I grew up in a suburban neighborhood in a poor car dependent city with gigantic lots. Because of financial troubles Iâm back there living with my family again.
This neighborhood I grew up in is partially why Iâm so intensely anti-car in my politics. This neighborhood has no sidewalks, has no shopping within easy walking distance, and does not have a bus stop. Iâm effectively trapped here because I donât have a drivers license and so are thousands of other people in my city living in similar circumstances.
So youâd think as an urbanist Iâd be all for the type of neighborhood depicted above, right? The housing is densely packed. Thereâs sidewalks. Perfect, right? Not exactly.
The neighborhood above has a few characteristics right off the bat that tells me thereâs people trapped in there too. First of all, look down the road. Look in the background. Thereâs some sort of foothills or low mountains back there. Even if this isnât in my city I know exactly where this is. On the very edge of town. Possibly many miles outside of town.
Whatâs wrong with being outside of town? On the surface, not much. Some people prefer the quiet. Maybe thereâs good views of the foothills. However, if you know both the history and current state of upper middle class suburbia you know whatâs going on here. This is very likely a white flight neighborhood with absolutely no bus or train connections to the main city or town itâs associated with. The people here are most likely mostly white and most likely havenât been on a bus once in their entire lives.
This position on the very edge of town or just out of town also very effectively traps the children of anyone who lives here. If they let their kids outside at all, thereâs likely nowhere for them to play but in the street or their driveways. They need to be driven to school, driven to play dates, driven to church, driven to the store. Any kids here, despite having a sidewalk, are likely just as trapped as I was growing up because that leads me to the second problem.
Despite this housing being dense, itâs still car dependent. These planned white flight communities (usually gated but not always) despite being on the edge of town or far out of town, are almost never truly rural. The families that live here are still connected to the city or town theyâre living in or near. Theyâve got no grocery in walkable distance. If there is a grocery nearby itâs very likely it could be on the other side of a freeway. Or ânearbyâ could mean three miles or more. Or simply unsafe to get to by walking or biking. The people who live here still need to drive into town to go shopping, go to work or school, go to a park, go anywhere. Every house has a garage because every house needs a car because only people who own cars can practically live here. Which leads me to my final point and the thing most people probably thought of when they saw this photo.
Every house here looks almost exactly the same, down to having the same exact tree in the front yard. Theyâre all the same shade of white. Probably the only difference between these houses is thereâs 3-5 different floor plans the original owners could choose to build. You can see some slightly different patterns on the window configurations but thatâs about it. Again, same exact tree in every front yard.
Why is this a problem? It speaks to the existence of a very strict homeowners association. The culture in this neighborhood, if it has one, is going to be of people who are very okay with conformity. The HOA clearly has very strict rules. You will not be able to paint your house blue here. You probably wonât be allowed to remove that one tree. If theyâre super duper strict people might even file a complaint if you put a garden gnome on your porch.
There are neighborhoods in the US that are easy to get lost in just because all the houses have the same model. And thatâs even in neighborhoods where people are allowed to paint their houses different colors and do whatever they want with their lawns.
This place is stifling and conformist by design. Itâs dense housing without any of the benefits of dense housing. Itâs a self made prison for people that are afraid of living near the poors.
If you grew up in a place like this, maybe this looks like home. Perhaps it feels nostalgic looking at this picture. Sometimes I feel nostalgic walking in my dadâs neighborhood. That doesnât change though how anti-human the design is of both this neighborhood and the one I grew up in. These are neighborhoods designed for cars, these are neighborhoods that result out of a racist past, and we all deserve better than this.
