XIV - Temperance

VIII - STRENGTH - Taming Working with your demons

Ya boi has a lot of thoughts about this one. 👇

The original strength card depicts a woman in a flower crown holding open the jaws of a lion. The lion symbolizes tamed ferocity as it is depicted below her and in her control. For this interpretation I wanted to make sure that John and Arthur have their eyes on the same level. Think this one is not about taming your inner demons but working with them. Gaining strength from past experiences.

The infinity symbol above the womans head symbolizes her wisdom. I thought it fitting for Arthur too, but more as a symbol for his unwavering humanity. I also wanted to pay an homage to the flower crown in the original by adding the same flowers in the corner.

Overall the meaning when drawing this card upright means courage, steadfastness and most of all endurance. So I think it is very fitting for Jarthur.

I also made sure to make everything flow towards Arthur and have John be part of that. Because these cosmic beings bend over backwards to just talk to this guy. And let themselves be changed by him.

This one is also very personal. Going through a lot rn and I tried to incorporate these feelings of hope and endurance into the piece.
