System Intro

Hey there, this is the main blog for the neapolyton system! Mainly created so that our members can make side blogs if they want to and link them back here (once I figure out how to do that lol) so not quite sure how often this'll actually be used

Not here for syscourse, we have our own shit and lives to worry about. We aren't your standard cookie cutter version of a system and we don't care. We don't use system roles for ourselves (with the exception of one member) We'll only use host here for your convenience. We use the term headmates to describe ourselves as that's what we started out using and won't change that. We're here from a mix of things: Emotional neglect and ableism along with medical trauma among other things. We will have moments where we will reject the idea of being traumatized due to not fitting our own stereotype of how a victim of such things typically acts. That being said we're detached from those things and talking about them won't upset us. We're an open book to anyone curious.

About Our Shared Living Space: We are in a Physically Disabled, Adult (30 year old) body. Our system has Arfid and ASPD among other things I'm probably forgetting rn. -Edited by Marshall, may edit again later

That's basically how it is, yes, but it's not all black and white either.

I have a functional, logical approach to social interaction, so obviously I gain nothing from being a heartless jerk.

However, there are exceptional situations. If someone close to me had a problem tomorrow, I wouldn't emotionally empathize with them, it's true. But I can be annoyed a bit to see someone I care about being in a bad mood.

It's also a matter of interest to some extent, I have an interest in not letting a fun person become depressed. I don't necessarily like it when people are in a bad mood in general, that's pretty annoying.

Following the same logic, if I hurt someone I actually care about or someone useful, I can have a sense of awareness and be like, "shit." No, I wouldn't actively feel bad about it, but if I know I fucked up, I can try to be slightly more tender with them to smooth things over if I really value them.

Yes, I can sometimes see people's feelings as annoying or overblown. But if I mess up and know it, I'll be consistent and try to fix the situation because I benefit from not maintaining tense relationships.

ASPD doesn’t mean I’m "morally blind". I know exactly what the rules are and I can distinguish right from wrong just fine. The difference is that I don't feel guilt or remorse if I choose to ignore them.

If I hurt you, it was intentional, not a misunderstanding of ethics. There is a massive difference between lacking a conscience and lacking awareness.

I’m perfectly capable of recognizing what’s wrong, not caring about it, but still choosing not to do it.

Also, I'm fully aware of the rules, I just can simply sometimes view them as optional if they don't serve my goals or stupid.

It’s not: "I didn’t know."

But mostly : "I knew, I didn't care, and I moved forward anyway."

My behavior is a reflection of my intent, not a lack of awareness. We are talking about an anomaly of affect (like guilt, empathy...etc), not an anomaly of intellect or logic

So obviously, no I will not kill you by mistake because of ASPD.

And there are so many articles and videos and discussions. Like, the scientific community is buzzing about this.

So much research will have to be redone because the data was absolutely compromised, off by orders of magnitude, by using standard lab gloves.

The world is probably not horrifically contaminated by microplastics. Sterile laboratories, however, are contaminated by latex and nitrile gloves.

You all need to understand that autonomy and especially bodily autonomy NEEDS to include being allowed to do things that are bad for you. True bodily autonomy includes being allowed to do things that are risky, drugs, cosmetic procedures and the like. Bodily autonomy needs to include being allowed to get high or smoke or get a BBL. The important part is education about the risks

There’s something so uniquely terrifying about memory issues. I feel like my self is slipping away from me.

Here’s the thing I feel like a lot of folks don’t get: I’m not trying to forget what you said. Honestly, I really tried not to. I can’t control what I do and don’t remember—forgetting things just happens. It’s annoying for you, I know, but for me it’s distressing as hell and when you make a big deal out of it rather than just reminding me you make me feel ashamed. I’ll remember that, at least.

It costs you nothing to be kind to people with memory problems. Please. It’s scary enough without people treating memory lapses as a personal failing.
