he would not fucking say that, but with disability.. he would not fucking be able bodied. sick n tired of characters walking away from multiple life changing injuries without a scratch. let’s get some natural consequences in here.

give that knife/sword fight survivor nerve damage. give the character who was shot in the gut a stoma. give that fire survivor lung damage and an oxygen cannula. give that leg injury survivor a cane. give that starvation survivor gastroparesis. give that spinal injury survivor a manual chair or powerchair.

while we’re at it, give your characters congenital disabilities too, just because. give them intellectual and development disabilities. give them acquired and postviral illnesses. dare to make somebody bedbound. for me.

#pjo characters get away with temporary disabilities and it pisses me off #not a single one of them can stand for longer than 20 minutes MAX don't you dare tell me otherwise

ive said this before but the idea of ethan not being like. hung up on and devoted to luke as others mightve been is so interesting to me. i feel like the general assumption for ta characters is that theyre pulled in by luke’s whatever but i think it’s also really interesting to explore other motivations that maybe diverge or even come into conflict with the cult of personality draw

also i think particularly by tlo ethan is just living in general horror and dawning self hatred for what hes created against his knowledge and will (kronos wearing a luke fursuit)

You know what would have been interesting? If Poseidon wasn't a foil to Gabe by being a good but absent dad where Gabe was a present but abusive parent, but if he foiled Gabe by being bad in a different way.

Imagine Percy getting paternal affection for the first time in his life but then slowly coming to the realization that Gabe was a bully who hated him, but Poseidon is a bully who loves him. Poseidon encouraging Percy's anger and violence because his sons are entitled to be as angry and violent as they want. Poseidon magic-ing him out of trouble for fighting at school because Percy should be allowed to hit whoever he wants!

It would change a lot of plot beats and would probably change what his relationship with Sally was like but it would be so interesting, wouldn't it?

I made a joke to my sister that Luke keeps stabbing the people Annabeth loves most, first Thalia's tree, then Percy. And in the end I said "At this rate all Luke has to do is stab himself"
