It was a few weeks later, and Leo was starting to show.

Angel stopped Victor on his way out after visiting Leo. "Victor, can we talk?" He asked.

He felt a little nervous talking to Victor, but he kept reminding himself that Victor wasn't the same selfish teenager that Angel once knew.

Victor immediately stopped in his tracks.

He and Angel never really talked before, except for the occasional name calling when Victor saw him. But that was a long time ago.

So for Angel to be the one to initiate conversation was a bit of a surprise for Victor.

“O-Of course! Um…whatcha want to talk about?” Victor asked, his false bravado already wavering.

"Does Val know about Leo's pregnancy, in anyway. I'm worried that..." Angel started to tear up. "I'm worried he'll do somethin',"

Angel wiped his eyes as he sobbed. "I can't risk somethin' happenin' ta' her, or her kid, or—"

Victor sighed a little before walking towards Angel, placing a hand in his back.

“Don’t worry, the only grandkids that Val knows about are mine…thanks to my big mouth…and I intend to keep it that way.” Victor said in a gentle yet firm voice.

“I won’t let that fucker anywhere near Leo and baby…I promise.”

Angel let out a soft sigh, though he was still sniffling and teary-eyed. "Thank you. You've change a lot," he said with a soft smile.

There was a beat of silence before Angel's smile fell and he spoke again. "Let me know if anythin' happens with Val, alright?"

Victor chuckled at Angel’s remark before taking a deep breath.

“I will, though I’m sure the most I’m gonna be dealing with is his barrage of text messages and phone calls calling me ‘ungrateful and cruel’.” Victor joked half-heartedly.

“Thanks for watching over Leo, she was a bit worried about everything. But it’s good to know that she has a big support system, especially of close family…” Victor said, mostly to himself.

"Thank you," Angel said once again, taking one last deep breath. "Have a good evenin'."

Victor nodded with a soft smile.

“You too. And call if ya need anything.” Victor said before leaving through the front door.

As Victor was walking towards Angel his car, he pulled out his phone to call Benjamin. But right as he was about to hit dial, another number lit up from the phone.

Vox.

Victor frowned at the phone, this was a first. Usually it was Valentino who would be calling.

Victor kept debating between answering or declining the call.

After a few second of letting the phone ring, Victor decided to just let Vox go to voicemail and listen to it later.

He wasn’t going to let whatever his father wanted to say ruin the pleasant day he was having.

Victor sent a text to Benjamin to say he was on his way home, already looking forward to being tackled by Mar.zip and his daughter all while his spouse laughs while holding their son.

In the late afternoon, Victor went with Leo to talk to Angel and Husk. The discussion went surprisingly well, and they agreed to let Leo move back in with them for a while.

Leo and Victor were sitting in Leo's childhood room when Leo's phone rang. He took it out, and his heart sank when he saw the caller ID.

She turned around the phone to show Victor who was calling: Valentino

Victor took the phone what of Leo’s hand, a look of irritation across his face.

“What could he possibly want…there’s no way for him to know about your…situation…” Victor muttered angrily.

He then looked up at Leo, his hand gripping the phone tightly.

“Do you wanna answer it, or want me to? I can gladly tell him to fuck off.”

Leo wrapped her wings around herself, a nervous habit she had since she was a baby. He looked at Victor with wide, glossy eyes before speaking up softly.

"Can we talk to him together?"

Victor nodded, he then scooted himself closer to Leo.

His thumb lingered above the accept button, before Victor finally pressed it.

The second he pressed it, Valentino’s voice filled the room.

“Mi mijo!” Valentino’s voice was sickly sweet, “I’ve missed you so much~ How have you been, mi hijito~”

Victor face scrunched up at Valentino’s voice. He was debating on saying something, but turned to face Leo to see if she wanted to talk first.

Leo immediately took on the role of the first to speak. "Papí, get to the point. What do you want?" he spat, anger already rising inside him.

"Mijo, we've grown apart, have we not. I was hoping after a few years of cutting me out, you would have second thoughts." Valentino spat back. His voice was already starting to sound whiney. Somehow, the fact that Val did probably genuinely miss Leo made it all the more painful to here.

"Don't get too excited, Victor's with me," Leo said bluntly.

The line suddenly got quiet, then…

“Vozzy?” Valentino sounded surprised.

“Yeah, I’m here too. So whatever bullshit you’re gonna spout out, know that I’m right here next to Lee.” Victor’s voice came out harsh as he glared at the screen.

“Well. This actually works out perfectly~” Valentino purred, “Much like Mijo, you haven’t talked to me or Voxy since that whole band nonsense~”

Victor flinched at that last part.

“You’re not still upset about what me and Voxy said, are you? You’re not mad at your Papí, are you Vozzy?~”

Victor started gritting his teeth, his hand gripping the phone tightly while trembling.

“If you’re calling to try and fucking guilt trip Lee, or me, into going back to that hellhole, then you can just fuck off!” Victor growled.

“She! Ain’t! Going! Back!”

"Mmm, that's too bad, mijo," Valentino said, playing up his sadness. "I miss mi hijos.—"

"Hey, papí, is there a more specific reason why you're calling?" Leo cut Valentino off with a stern tone.

Valentino's tone grew noticeably more hostile. "He's brainwashed you, mija. Angie brainwashed you into hating me and ran off with you and that cat! I was hoping you would be more excited to reconnect with your papí."

Victor felt himself getting angry.

“You’re so fucking full of yourself.” Victor mumbled.

“Now, why don’t you two be good hijos pequeños and come home to Papí, hmm~” Valentino almost demanded in a hush voiced.

Victor finally lost it.

“Listen here! Angel didn’t do shit except be an actual parent to Leo! YOU and your manipulation are the fucking reasons that she doesn’t want to see you!” Victor started yelling at the phone.

The phone in his hand felt like it could break at any moment.

“Maybe, for once in your god damn life, take fucking responsibility for being not only a shitty person, but failing as a parent to BOTH of your kids!”

Victor was getting louder, he was standing up at this point.

“Maybe then you’ll fucking realize why you’ll NEVER MEET YOUR GRANDKIDS!”

Leo’s jaw went slack. Victor really let all that out.

The room was dead silent for an uncomfortably long time. Leo instinctively wrapped her arms around her abdomen and shrank into herself.

“My grand…children…” Valentino’s voice trailed off.

“You mean I’m an abuelo and I did not know?! Which of you is a parent?! Who did you have children with?! How long have I gone without know about my own grandchildren?!”

//I know just enough Spanish where I can’t speak it for shit but I know enough grammar that I’m scared to use spanglish lol

Victor stood there shocked.

Fuck. Why did he say that?

Victor turned to look at Leo, who looked terrified. After a prolonged silence, Victor finally answered.

“I…I’m the parent…” Victor’s voice answered softly. He fucked up, so he decided to take the fall for all of it.

He promised to help Leo, and he will do anything to keep her away from Valentino.

“I’m dating Benjamin. I have 2 kids, one is 4 and the other is about to turn 1 this year.” Victor answered half-heartedly.

The line was quiet for a second before Valentino’s voice roared from the phone.

“I’VE BEEN AN ABUELO FOR 4 YEARS?! MOCOSO DESAGRADECIDO! WHY DID YOU KEEP MI NIETOS AWAY FROM ME?!” Valentino yelled sounding both furious and heartbroken.

Victor flinched from the phone, both from the loudness and the fact that a small part of feels bad. He felt like a kid again, being scolded by his Papí for something.

“Maybe because I didn’t want to expose my children to the same people that made me feel so fucking unwanted…” Victor paused, his voice trembling like he was on the verge of tears, “that I felt like I had to act like a fucking manipulative asshole just to get a sliver of attention from you two…”

Leo instinctively flinched and whimper at Valentino lashing out. It brought him back to when he was a little kid, watching Valentino beat Angel and making Leo watch.

"Papí…please stop." Leo whimpered, tears streaming down her face.

"Oh, no estoy enojado contigo, mi hija. You didn't hide GRANDCHILDREN FROM ME!" Valentino's voice started off sweet but lashed out at the end.

Leo wrapped all for arms around her abdomen and spoke so quietly that the phone couldn't pick it up. "My baby." He squeaked.

Victor was breathing heavily now, tears streaming down his face. Not tears of fear or sadness, rather ones of anger.

“And you know what? I don’t regret not telling you. I don’t regret knowing that my children will only know one grandparent. And I certainly don’t regret not keeping in contact with you and Vox.” Victor said in a quiet and trembling voice.

“The only things I regret is not leaving sooner nor being the brother I should have been towards Leo…” Victor’s mumbled that last part.

There was a heavy silence between the three.

“Vozzy…You don’t mean that.” Valentino sounded like he was crying on the other end, “I’m aware that I haven’t been the best Papí towards you two, but I’ve always loved you both.”

“If you love me, you would’ve treated papa better!” Leo blurted out. He then took the phone out of Victor’s hand, hanging up, and blocking Valentino’s number.

Leo laid down on the bed and put the phone aside.

“I don’t wanna—Victor. I don—don’t wanna abort the pregnancy but I’m scared of what will happen if I don’t!” She cried into the pillow.

Victor stared wide-eyed at Leo, somewhat shocked by what Leo did. He then walked back towards the bed and sat down next to Leo, placing a hand on her head.

“I’ll tell what’s gonna happen,” Victor said in a gentle voice, “You’re gonna give birth to a beautiful baby, surrounded by people that actually love and adore you.”

Victor wore a soft smile while he spoke.

“You’re gonna hold that baby while they look up at you like you’re the most amazing person that they have ever seen. And you’re gonna raise that baby with all the love in the world while your true family stands beside you.”

Victor laid down next to Leo and pulled her into a hug.

“You will be okay…”

Leo clung onto Victor and cried into his chest. Her hands clung onto Victor’s wings and shirt as she continued to sob and sob.

“Th—thank you, Victor,” he whimpered in between sobs.

"I—I should probably tell Chris, the guy who got me pregnant." Leo finally said once she calmed down.

Victor hugged Leo tightly, yet gently. A tight smile on his face.

“I would love to meet the bastard that thought it was a good idea to play Nut-n-Run with my sibling.” Victor said through gritted teeth.

Leo couldn't help but laugh a little at Victor's crass wording of the situation.

"That's one way to put it, but Victor, he didn't know. You can judge by his reaction to the news."

Leo paused and looked back at his phone.

"Should I call him now?"

“Yeah, might as well.” Victor replied.

Victor helped himself and Leo sit up on the bed.

Victor couldn’t help but replay the phone call with Valentino in his head. He didn’t know where Victor and his family are, but he couldn’t help but worry.

Victor took a deep breath and tried to push those thoughts to the back of his head for now.

“The minute he starts being an ass, hand me the phone. I’ll gladly put in my two cents.” Victor said half-jokingly.

"Okay. I'll call him," Leo said, leaning a little towards Victor.

She let out a long sigh before tapping by Chris’s contact. The phone rang for a few moments before the sound of Chris's voice came through.

"Ah, Leo. I haven't see you recently," Chis's voice sounded a little smug. "How are you doing?"

"Chris..." Leo took a shaky breath. "I need to tell you something."

There was a beat of silence before Chris answered. His voice was flat and unreadable.

"What is it?"

Victor got whiplash after hearing Chris’s voice. Not because he wasn’t expecting the smugness, but rather because it reminded him of himself back when he was younger.

As much as Victor wanted to grab the phone and berate the guy, he held himself back and kept his mouth shut.

But there was nothing wrong with trying to send a death glare through the phone.

Leo closed his eyes and braced himself before dropping the bomb.

"Chris...I'm pregnant." Leo said.

The room was completely silent for a moment.

Then Chris hung up.

Victor felt his body go rigid before immediately standing up.

“THAT FUCKING ASSHOLE! WHO JUST HANGS UP LIKE THAT!? NO QUESTIONS? NO ANYTHING?” Victor was yelling now.

Victor was getting ready to grab Leo’s phone from her hand to call the bastard back, but stopped to check on Leo.

“Lee…I…I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to yell suddenly like…Are you ok?”

Leo laid back down on the bed. He felt numb. He hadn't really gotten too far into his relationship with Chris, and he had already considered ending it. The relationship wasn't worth much grief.

The difficult part was that Chris was running out on her while pregnant.

"Of course he hung up," she muttered.

The lack of a reaction started to worry Victor. He didn’t know what their relationship was like, but even then, he was pissed that the guy just ran from what he’s done.

Victor sat back down on the bed and looked at Leo with a concerned expression. He started fidgeting with his hands has he tried to think of something to say.

“W-well…Fuck him, you don’t need him anyway…” Victor started saying, but he didn’t what would be the right thing to say.

Silence sat between them, the air feeling heavy after everything that’s happened today.

“Honestly, I was thinking about breaking up with him.” Leo said.

He then turned over to lay on his back, putting a hand on his stomach. Tears welled up in his eyes as what was happening finally set in.

Victor didn’t know what to say.

He laid down next to Leo, his head bumping softly against hers.

The two of them just stay like that in silence, not saying anything while Leo’s sniffles filled the room.

Finally, Victor broke the silence.

“What do you want to do now?”

Leo mulled over his feelings for a moment, all these conflicting emotions swirling in his head.

"I want that fucker to pay child support," she blurted out, sounding a little aggressive. "I feel like I should be angrier about the relationship ending but...I don't. I'm fine if the kid is just mine but...he's gotta take responsibility somehow."

Victor suddenly had a very sinister smile spread across his face.

“Y’know…I do have an old friend that may have some ties with a group in the Greed Ring…And he does owe me a favor~” Victor said slyly.

“And I’m sure the rest of my old band mates would be happy to have one last encore~. I know Lacey wouldn’t mind finding this jackass.” Victor’s voice was low and malicious as he was already of thinking of ways of making this squeal.

Victor stood up before taking out his phone, getting ready to call someone.
