Hello.
Harriet and Mike seem to think that this site will be worthwhile. I'm going to use it to talk about the sea. :3
Does the void sing?
That's a question for the Vast, not the Buried. Did you mean to ask this of Harriet?
What do you think about the Ocean?
-Karolina @the-sea-calls
cold. big. not a fan of fish scales. ... or fish.
Oh but fish are so wonderful. The pressing of the Sea as she surrounds you intending to crush you is just magnificent.
the compression sounds great. i just... don't like fish. their scales freak me out. fishsticks taste alright, though.
Hm.
Interesting. Oh you've reminded me I should give a statement soon. I've been meaning to do so.
as in the institute? i think we still do walk-ins. mostly just so we don't have to actually do any paper work.
just don't be surprised if my boss looks at you like he wants you to combust on the spot. we have... a lot of statements. but i'm sure one of the assistants can get you. i technically can't, since i haven't been trained for it.
but it can't be that hard. talking to people is totally easy.
Oh I'll talk with the Archivist soon I'm sure. Tell me how often do you take the tube? You may not like my Statement if you ride the tube too often.
uhm. i mean. i take the tube to school? and then back to get to work. ... okay maybe i don't do your statement.
my boss might not take the tube. i swear he lives at the archives now. well, actually- one of us is currently living at the archives. something about an infestation at his apartment? i dunno. they don't tell me anything.
Infestations never are fun are they?
No they can have their fun, I much prefer the sea to the bugs and ill.
i find bugs delightful, personally. mostly arachnids and insects - butterflies specifically.
we had a worm infestation a little while ago. i remember a lot of CO2 and ... a corkscrew.
apparently two coworkers had to go to hospital for worm injuries. ... they haven't let me come back into the office for a little while. which is stupid, since i'm pretty sure everybody else is back by now.
Ah.
Well, you'd much prefer the dirt to the Ocean then I'm sure.
they sound pretty similar.
both crushing, both have worms. both are pretty scary, all things considered.
They can be similar, yes.
Do be careful around bugs, or don't. It really isn't my problem if they infect you.
...
how would i know if they already have?
Don't know. Bugs aren't my thing.
I'm sure your Archive has Statements that will tell you more than you'd ever wish to know.

Do you like the color of the sky?
I much prefer the ocean.
Oh! Hello there!
Are you sure you don't like the ocean? It's like a weighted blanket, lovely things, weighted blankets.
-Karolina ( @the-sea-calls )
I-I just haven't had much good happen when I'm near the ocean, I guess. I'm not r-really itching to go back.
Oh that's no fun. The Ocean really is a wonder, much to see, much to learn. Good food too, lots of people fear it. Good weighted blanket as well.
What fits your fancy? Normalcy? The earth?
Dirt isn't too bad of a weighted blanket, but that gets everywhere you see and while water does too it's much easier to dry off than it is to get all the dirt off.
Rina bounced on her heels slightly as she knocked on the door of Harriet’s flat, grinning a bit. The trip to Everest had gone fantastically, in her opinion. It had been the trip of a lifetime, and being up that high had been wonderful. She was back in London, now, though, and she had important matters to take care of. Most notably, her bird.
She had missed Banana. And even though she trusted Harriet, Banana was also a free spirit and the chances of her running off weren’t completely off the table, and Rina was worried.
@formerly-the-mechs
Harriet stood from the couch and ignored the pouting that she received from Karolina who she had been leaning against. She looked through the peep hole and beamed seeing Rina at the door.
Harriet opened the door, waving Rina inside.
"Rina! Come inside, how was your trip?"
Rina smiled at her as she stepped inside. “You know, you know. I much prefer being high up without my feet on solid ground, but it was very nice. And the viewers loved it, too! Had a great time. Brought back some souvenirs, too.”
She plopped two small mountain keychains in Harriet’s hand as she took off her coat: one for her and one for Karolina.
Harriet smiled as she looked at her keychain, tossing Karolina's to where she sat still curled up under several blankets on the couch.
"Thank you, I'll add this to my keys-"
Karolina laughed from where she sat on the couch.
"Your keys are going to turn into a weight if you keep adding keychains to them."
"Shush, your lanyard is worse. I swear that thing ways five pounds."
Harriet turned back to Rina.
"I still think you'd like the crows nest of a good boat, it's like flying in it's own way. Mike and I were planning on getting together to watch your videos from this trip tomorrow, if you want to join us."
“Hmmm, maybe.” Rina considered. “Still not a big fan of the sea. All the salt, you know? Gets in your mouth and hair and everything. Not to mention how wet you get.” She shuddered slightly. “I’ll take a good skydiving trip over it any day. Happy to hang out, though.”
She glanced around the flat slightly. Where was her daughter?
"You get used to it. Banana's in the guest room, she was pestering the cats. I swear, some days they get along and others they act like Banana's trying to eat them. They're just as dramatic as Karolina."
Harriet chuckled at Karolina's grumbling as she moved towards the guest room, opening the door to free Banana from her confines, releasing her to fly to Rina and hopefully leave the cats alone.
The bird instantly fluttered out of the room, landing on Rina’s arm with a loud, joyous squawking. Rina gasped in joy, making kisses towards Banana. “Banana! I missed you!” the bird made smooching sounds back, babbling and squawking before she climbed her way onto Rina’s shoulder. Rina absently pet her as she turned back to Harriet with a smile.
“Again, thanks so much for taking care of her. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
Harriet chuckled lightly. "Of course! She's a dear when she's not pestering the cats. Oh! Did I ever send you that photo I took of Banana sleeping ontop of Kraken?"
Rina’s eyes lit up. “No you did not. Show.” She made grabby hands.
Harriet chuckled before reaching for her phone and finding the photos.
"Here, look at these photos! Look at them getting along!!"
Harriet handed her phone to Rina with a smile.
“Awwwww,” Rina cooed, looking down at the photo. “They’re adorable.” She looked towards Banana, perched on her shoulder. “See? You can be nice, sometimes.”
Banana bobbed her head in response, crest raised, and let out a garbled “Kitty.” Rina scratched her forehead.
Harriet cooed at Banana, smiling at her as she heard Karolina lightly scoff on the couch.
"Your daughter ate my hair."
Harriet shook her head at Karolina. "You let her." She turned back to Rina with a smile. "I'm pretty sure I have a photo of that too."
Banana made a clicking noise. “Yummy.” She garbled. She made a few smooching noises into Rina’s hair. “Kitty.”
“I want to see that,” Rina peered back at Harriet’s phone. “And I’m sure the nibbles were deserved.”
Harriet chuckled as she showed the photo to Rina, ignoring Karolina's grumbling on the couch.
"I think I may have more photos of Banana than Karolina has of the cats at this point."
“I don’t think that’s possible, honestly.” Rina commented. Banana contributed by meowing.
"They're my babies."
Harriet smiled. "True, Karolina does have an insane collection of cat photos. What else have you been up to, other than your trip?"
“Hmm.” Rina thought for a moment. “Well, the members of my old band are starting to reach out a bit more. I think it's because Mari’s getting married soon, and everything, and wanted to actually get in contact with people again. That’ll be fun, though! Not much else, I think.”
Banana expressed her opinion by bobbing her head and hopping onto the couch next to Karolina, slowly sidling her way on over, head tilted.
"Oh that's nice!! The most we have here is Karolina finding someone at the bottom of the ocean recently."
Karolina looked over at Banana, tilting her head at the bird, as if wondering her plans.
Rina looked over to Karolina. “Oooh! New vast avatar, maybe? Or just a plain old corpse?”
Banana tilted her head the other angle, staring at Karolina, and letting out a clicking noise as she bobbed her head, crest flared.
"Buried and End, actually. Rina does she want pets or does she want my soul?"
Harriet chuckled watching her girlfriend stare at Banana as if Banana would find a way to eat her. Pets sharks, but gets startled around birds.
“Oh, no way to know, really.” Rina replied cheerfully. “Not until it’s too late, at least. That’s sad- the family could always use a few more members.”
The bird continued to sidle on over to Karolina, hopping across the couch and letting out a garbled: “Yummy.”
Karolina stared at Banana for a moment before gently petting her head. "I am not a snack."
Harriet chuckled at her girlfriend. "it would be nice to have more Ocean Vast."
Banana crooned in response, leaning into the touch and flapping her wings. Rina watched with a laugh, before tilting her head.
“Any new members of the family are good, in my opinion. Still, you must be getting lonely, Karolina, with how few Buried avatars are in London.”
Karolina pet Banana, smiling a bit as she pet her.
"Yeah, most of them are dirt too and get all grumpy around rain. It'll be nice having another buried avatar around. Someone to hang out with who won't threaten to push me out of a plane for fun."
“Hey, I only did that once!” Rina complained, frowning. Banana let out a crooning noise and nuzzled into Karolina’s hand.
"Mhm and I'd prefer you never did it."
Karolina continued to pet Banana.
"You're the only good bird, Banana. The only good bird."
Karolina watched as Kraken made her way over to Rina, staring up at her.
Harriet chuckled as she walked towards the kitchen.
"Rina, can I get you anything to drink?"
Rina leaned down and scritched Kraken on the ears and around its chin. “Oh, sure. Do you have any soda? If not, tea is fine.”
Banana climbed up Karolina’s shirt and continued bobbing her head, letting out a few chirps.
Harriet nodded. "I've got one of your marble soda things, Karolina, tea?"
"Yes please, thank you." Karolina smiled at Banana. "What are you planning, Banana?"
Kraken purred, content with pets.
Harriet returned a moment later with drinks. "Have you spoken to Simon recently? I think he might be trying to plan another reunion."
Rina scooped up Kraken in her arms, cuddling it close. “Not recently, no. He’s been out and about, as usual. He’ll probably pop in somewhere at some point.”
Banana croaked innocently, head tilting back and forth. She paused for a moment, before leaning forwards and biting down onto Karolina’s scarf.
Harriet nodded while Karolina stared down at Banana. "I made you a mini scarf so you would stop stealing mine. Go get your scarf."
Eel, being a menace, noodled their way onto Rina's shoulders, becoming one with the snuggles.
Harriet ignored the pet chaos. "Simon's been asking about Mike, which he does mostly when he starts planning reunions. I think he might try to invite Karolina again."
"No thank you. Never again."
Banana let out a croak and started wiggling backwards, taking Karolina’s scarf with her.
Rina let out a gasp, looking to Eel. “Oh, hello! Who’s this little one?”
"Banana. You have a scarf. Don't eat mine." Karolina looked over and spotted Eel around Rina's shoulders. "Oh! That's Eel, they just kind of appeared one day, they're cuddly."
“Well, they are absolutely adorable.” Rina picked the ferret up off of her shoulders, cooing at it. “Hello, there!”
Banana, as she was wont to do, ignored Karolina’s protests and pulled the scarf off of her neck, hopping away with it in beak, satisfied.
Kraken, not being pet by Rina anymore, abandoned her side to curl around Karolina's lap while Karolina stared at Banana.
"Really? My scarf? Again?"
Harriet laughed at the view, taking a few photos to send to Mike.
Banana bobbed her head in response, hopping back over to Rina and winding around her feet with the scarf. Rina leaned down and set out her arm, which Banana hopped onto gladly, still carrying the (mildly tangled) scarf. “She’s just establishing her dominance, don’t worry.” Rina reassured.
Karolina stared at Rina for a moment. "If she kills me I'm haunting you."
Harriet chuckled at them before plopping an extra weighted blanket on Karolina and sitting next to her, leaning so some of her weight was on Karolina.
"I won't let Banana eat your soul. If any animal is going to kill you it's going to be a dolphin. I swear they're with the slaughter."
Harriet then turned her attention towards Rina.
"Have you spoken to Mike recently? He's been complaining about Jude again, I think she found his new address."
Rina bounced on her heels slightly as she knocked on the door of Harriet’s flat, grinning a bit. The trip to Everest had gone fantastically, in her opinion.

Harriet stood from the couch and ignored the pouting that she received from Karolina who she had been leaning against. She looked through the peep hole and beamed seeing Rina at the door.
Harriet opened the door, waving Rina inside.
"Rina! Come inside, how was your trip?"
