Okay, so 目はない/me wa nai means ‘have no eyes.’

目がない/me ga nai is a saying with the same literal meaning (to have no eyes), but it means ‘being extremely fond of/having a weakness for’ (the origin being along the lines of ‘to like something so much as to be completely undiscerning/blind regarding it.’)

So when Brook says, 私美人に目がないんです! ガイコツだから目はないんですけども!/Watashi bijin ni me ga nai ndesu! Gaikotsu dakara, me wa nai ndesu deko mo! What he’s saying is basically, “I have no eyes for (meaning ‘I am extremely fond of’) beautiful women! But because I’m a skeleton, I have no eyes anyways! (Yohohohohoho.)”

All of the rulers of Thriller Bark are referred to with extreme respect by their underlings- Hogback is called Hogback-sama and Perona is called Perona-sama, which is a very respectful honorific along the lines of ‘great’ or ‘lord/lady.’ They go even further for Moria, calling him ご主人様/goshujin-sama, which is like ‘Your Lordship.’

And then there’s Absalom, who gets called エロサロム/erosaromu, which is basically ‘Perv-salom.’

Hey, I loooive your modern au, and I was wondering what kind of jobs you imagine ppl would have

okay anon, buckle up. i took some time to sketch down my ideas. 

Luffy: Luffy is a professional competitive eater. He gets invited as a B list celebrity to participate at professional competitions. He gets sponsors also from his junior career as a baseball player. Since scouts and schools are actively trying to recruit him on their teams, he gets a lot of different offers. He makes quite a bit as a non-pro player. (he also has a lil youtube channel)

Zoro: Zoro works at a martial arts dojo and finds himself asleep in the only office in the entire building more often than not. They higher ups can’t find a better coach or teacher, so they allow it. At nights he may or may not accept odd jobs as security detail and bouncing for clubs.

Nami: Nami has a degree in GIS and landed a job working for Google. She compiles information either from a surveyor or from going out and surveying into the cartography device and gets accurate maps made this way so people like us can enjoy google maps.

Usopp: Usopp works as a janitor in the local elementary school and all the kids love him to death. He’ll tell them stories and sometimes gets sucked into the play yard to play kickball with the kids. During weekends, he’ll volunteer to read stories to kids and will get all dressed up with his finest pair of neon socks.

Sanji: he’s pretty cut and dry. he is the sous chef at the Baratie. he cooks. idk. professional simp?

Ace: Ace bartends and prides himself at being really fucking good at his job. he took a couple courses on bartending and ultimately dropped out because he hates school and learns via youtube. During day shifts, he’s management at a grocery store with Marco. they fuck around mostly and if they have time off, they play basketball with the rest of the WB crew.

Sabo: Sabo is a keyholder at Target. he hates it. he works the least amount of hours possible. When he’s not doing that, he’s majoring in business administration with a double minor in pre law and ethnic studies. he’s dead on the inside. 

okay! so i borrowed some ideas from real life friends of mine. (rip the guy who influenced my sabo idea)

Many of you are gonna hate me for this but I have to say it.

There is a wave of terror attacks in Israel right now and all I can see about this is the glorifying of "Palestine" and the brave "heroes" who've committed those horrible acts, instead of sadness over the loss of lives.

I see posts justifying the terror attacks and celebrating the death of innocent Israeli citizens.

This is not something that should be celebrated!

I see a lot of misinformation about this topic on the internet and I just want to say: educate yourself, check sources, do your own research! Don't trust me, dont trust anyone else just check reliable sources.
