The updates have been pretty frequent which is great, I'm very excited to see them finally entering the game... Whenever that may be. When Swiss inevitably dies I will explode.
So. I finished supernatural. I have... opinions. Here are my thoughts presented in a mostly structured manner.

BACKROUND:
I started watching because my mom wanted me to, and I knew about destiel so why not? (Big fan of fanfiction and yaoi, 300000 fics is no joke, and destiel is the biggest ship on ao3 with over 100000 fics).
Around the time I got to season 6 I was doing my finals, so I was super stressed, and when I'm stressed I like to binge. So I binged. It got to a point where I finished a season every 4 days. (Slowed down once my finals were over).
It took me exactly 121 days to finish the show, and only a month to finish seasons 7-15. So take this into account when I start complaining, I do like this show! I swear!!!
SEASONS:
Season 1 - It was alright, I viewed the show as a thing to watch when you don't feel like using your brain (opinion didn't change much, I still view it that way but positively!) So no strong opinions.
Season 2 - Things are getting interesting, but I just... really hate John's character so... eh. It was alright. Also I really dislike the yellow eyed demon plotline, I think it's a bit boring. It did have the first trickster episode so it isn't all bad.
Season 3 - This is the first season I liked. Like, liked-liked. I Looooooove Dean's arc about accepting his death, and the Mystery Spot & Ghostfacers episodes, which are some of my favorites. Really strong season. However, I was mainly waiting for one specific character.
Season 4 - 🥹 He's here. Lazarus Rising is one of my favorite episodes. Castiel is my favorite character. I'll yap more about him later. This season is so good(!!!) season 4 and 5 are easily my favorites, it's not even close. Anyway, the seal plotline is alright, and Chuck is introduced. I'm mainly interested in Castiel (duh) and the fact that Dean's trauma exists? And is referenced?? And has ramifications??? Yeah don't get used to it but it's nice that it's there.
Season 5 - Yeah I liked it 👍 it introduced the horsemen who are generally pretty cool (I only remember death ngl) and.... Crowley!!! Yayayyayay!!! Awesome character. However, this is the season where the filler started to annoy me, I quite like the "plot" (and rising stakes) so having random filler is suddenly very jarring. Overall I enjoyed it.
Season 6 - Uh oh. Well, this is where the writing takes a turn for the worse. I like Castiel turning "evil" but it felt a bit too sudden, still- I liked it. Sam is soulless! but I found it a bit boring, he had some funny moments but it just felt underutilized? Anyway, this is the season that pretty much sold me on destiel as a ship. I don't remember why though...
Season 7 - UH OH. You know this season. You don't need me to explain why I dislike it. One of the things that bother me about it (that I don't see mentioned) is how underwhelming the leviathans are? I was STOKED when the water sequence started, a waterborne "parasite" that could potentially infect hundreds, if not thousands? Thats so cool! And terrifying!! What could hunters do against a potential epidemic??? Um. Nothing. Because theres only about 30 leviathans. Oh well. Also Castiel is benched so I was bored. It did have Charlie so it's not all bad.
Season 8 - It was fine, didn't have any strong opinions. Love the finale though, it looked incredible. I also enjoyed the Castiel lobotomy, it was funny.
Season 9 - One of my least favorite seasons. I studied the old testament. I love the Cain & Abel story. Holy shit what the fuck?????? Who wrote this????????? Sorry if you liked this storyline but it just pissed me off, the Jewish mythology is butchered in this show on a regular basis, but this is probably the worst offender... I didn't like this season. Not much else to say.
Season 10 - Um, I'll start with the good. Rowena! I love her, second favorite character. She's great. I actually like demon!Dean, but only because of the ao3 tag, otherwise it's just kinda........ meh. Crowley x Dean is fun tho. Everything else is... not great. I'll complain about the darkness later.
Season 11 - I don't like the darkness 😬. I think the idea is interesting in theory, but in execution it just falls flat. I also can't stand the Dean x Amara "romance", it's so bad. I love Castiel as Lucifer, the acting is great! also Chuck being God is revealed, which I like- I think it's an interesting idea! Mary returning is... fine. No strong feelings.
Season 12 - I like season 12. It's like season 7 (as in, new out of the ordinary antagonists) but actually good imo. I feel like the British men of letters are actually intimidating, and also present an actual dilemma (killing people is bad) so there's that. I like how Castiel is characterized, being Lucifer taught him to express emotions, you love to see it 😊.

Season 13 - I don't remember much from this season other than taking psychic damage from Misha Collins doing an accent for the Empty. It was bad. Asmodeus is boring and I forgot he was in here until I checked the wiki. Gabriel is back again, I like him so whatever. The only thing of note in this season is getting into a debate with a friend about whether Castiel counts as a DILF. (Probably).
Season 14 - I am quite fond of Sam x Rowena. I generally liked this season, I also LOVED the finale, it was great. Didn't care much for alt!Michael though.

I really hate this episode.
Season 15 - I... really like Chuck being the villain. He's amazing. Generally a pretty solid season. BUT. I knew how the show ended and about "gay superhell" going in, and I STILL almost fell for the queer baiting, it's... really bad. There's almost constant remarks about destiel and their relationship, it's almost unbearable, especially knowing it won't amount to anything.
Despite some really(!) good episodes, the season is held back by episode 18. It's so bad. We had to stop the "confession" scene because we couldn't stop laughing. Anyway Castiel dies immediately after the universe realizes he's gay (this show is quite good at burying them, it became a running joke we made while watching) and gets replaced by a dog (pretty funny).
I did like the finale, I think Dean should have died differently but whatever, the death scene was good atleast. I don't like how there's no resolution between anyone that isn't Sam & Dean. I don't like how the relationship between Castiel and Dean is never really resolved. I don't mind it being one sided but... this just sucks? Anyway yeah.
CHARACTERS:
I just made a tier list. I like tier lists. The characters are even in order! I almost never do that! It's pretty self explanatory I think, my main problem with the character writing is how static it is? They don't really undergo change. It's a shame. Also also, I *hate* how they replaced Charlie and Bobby with their altarnate universe counterparts, those aren't them? This Bobby never met them, never raised them, who is this guy??
Anyway the character dynamics/relationships are really good. Speaking of-
SHIPPING:
Well, I was going to include a shipping tier list, but I reached the image limit. Also I'm afraid 😔. I like destiel, non- literal soulmates is my favorite trope when it comes to shipping/character dynamics (think Madoka x Homura, Dazai x Chuuya, Griffith x Guts etc) so obviously I like it. (With how inconsistent they act I'm surprised it's this popular, but that's besides the point)
I actually don't have too much to say about this. I feel like the writers accidentally wrote them like this and kept trying to undo it, only to fuck up and reach season 15 and realize they had to bring some resolution. Anyway in my opinion they are wayyyyy more toxic than people give them credit for, especially Dean? (not character bashing, just saying) very odd seeing people write them as super fluffy in like, season 6-7/13-14, those guys hate each other(😈).
CASTIEL:
I'll just yap about him a bit here... I really like his character, I sent 76 messages with his name in them to my buddy while doing my watchthrough. I, unfortunately, have a weakness for anime boys in trenchcoats 😔 (yes he's anime, he got the queerbait he got the tragic backstory he got the angst he got the wings. Anime.)
However, he also exhibits a pretty consistent problem with the characterization in the show. The writers want to get to point "C". We are on point "A". We are never shown point "B". Things just tend to happen without reason other than the fact that they need to. Sometimes a character will suddenly turn evil for no real reason.
I feel like I complained about the serious writing enough already, so here's a very silly thing- listen, I can see him being bi/pan no problem! I think it's great! But it honestly feels like they just accidentally wrote him to be gay as hell and kept trying to backtrack to convince me he's straight... I get it guys, he likes women, you really don't need to try this hard I promise.
AFTERWORD:
Yeah I think that's about all I have to say. Definitely one of my favorite shows. I'll probably revisit it in a few years, it had some incredible parts and some not so incredible ones (repeated homophobia and misogyny), but it's still really good overall. I highly recommend it.

Ly'lac: Descend was detailing the life of the Uninymph (now the Narwhal, imprisoned beneath the nursing village Ly'lac lives in) and the reason he had a horn (and grew to possess other satyr features including the ears, the tail, and the legs) is because he's intersex; since satyrs are exclusively male and nymphs are exclusively female, an intersex Deltritan is essentially a nymph-satyr hybrid. The flash showed that the Uninymph (who is known to use he/him pronouns) arrived at the Barley Fraternity on a SHURBan meteor, grew up there, met and became close with the Australian pegatulp, and was ultimately sold out by the satyrs and abducted by nymphs. In the modern day, he's imprisoned and has metamorphosed (as nymphs do) into a monstrous seahorse. Hope that clears it up!
