Yesterday the Air Star server gathered to show our support to Ukraine in light of the current invasion. Silent Witches Society led a small parade from Steve’s to Starshine Ranch where we formed a heart and ran across the field. The worlds laziest overview of the SSO Winter Activities.
Apparently many people are confused by how they work so here is how:
There are 9 activities(northern lights) to earn warm wishes from each day. They are split up into sets with three activities in each. I will call these sets A, B and C. They spawn in this pattern:
You can only earn warm wishes from each activity once per day. That means if you complete set A, you cannot earn more wishes from set A when they spawn again 3 hours later.
On the other hand, if you fail an activity in set A, you can try again three hours later.
Some activities give you one warm wish. Some activities give you 2 warm wishes.
So yeah, I said I’d release my “tone it down” preset, but I ended up fiddling with this one, like an hour before writing this so..

Have you missed having the entirety of Jorvik covered in pretty glittering snow? Well wipe away your tears, this preset will solve that problem for you!
Now you might notice that the greens and yellows have been obviously changed, but all other colours should stay pretty true to their originals with only minor changes.
This was created with Reshade version 4.9.1, so if it doesn’t work for you try using this version! I wont be able to help troubleshoot any issue you get, sorry :/

til Dwayne the Rock Johnson has a horse farm and…
Concept: Dwayne the Rock Johnson’s daughter is a fan of Star Stable (Either Simone, who’s like 16 or Jasmine but in the future of course cause she’s a babby). The daughter gets mysteriously sucked into the game, which Dwayne the Rock Johnson finds out when he comes into the room and sees the game running- and the Dark Riders riding off with a character that looks suspiciously like his daughter ..
He can’t do anything in the game, since the character you’re supposed to be playing is gone… but he sees people in chat asking where Jasmine/Simone went and if that’s part of a quest…?
So he creates an account. His avatar inexplicably looks like this:
Frustrated, he powers his way through the first couple levels, pulling out his credit card to pay for Star Rider. The only option that works is “Lifetime”. Dwayne the Rock Johnson rolls his eyes but if anyone can afford lifetime Star Rider its Dwayne the Rock Johnson.
Suddenly there’s a weird glitch on the screen… it looks like a whirlpool? It’s oddly realistic, almost three dimensional, and as if it were beckoning him to come closer.. closer. And then he’s in the game. Trying to get his bearings, Dwayne the Rock Johnson desperately tries to find out what happened to his girl, but the townsfolk only seem concerned with their day to day activities. Though the other players are able to communicate .. the high level girls tend to ignore his requests for help, and the lower level people are either unable to help or looking for someone called Spirit…? even if a word here or there drops out, he realizes that he has to level up to even get close to the one who sounds like he may be behind this, and so he spends all his Star Coins making days pass faster, only to realize he can’t buy anymore while in game (thus having to wait a night, or a week til more are added). The adventure begins.
Dwayne the Rock Johnson comes to understand the he is the reincarnation of the Spirit of Aideen. He befriends the other players, the townsfolk- even the horses.
Soon hes admired by everyone. He’s flying through his quests, until the day comes where he finds himself in a refrigerator, waiting to spring out and confront this Mr. Sands himself.
When they finally meet, Mr Sands laughs. “Garnok…” he bellows, “As expected, He has fallen for our little ruse..” Sands adds, steepling his fingers and nodding to his hooded minions.
“Where’s my daughter, Sands?” Dwayne the Rock Johnson snarls, aware of the goons that are slowly starting to surround him, making mental notes of who’s closer and who looks likely to go down with a single punch.
“Oh.” Sands chuckles. “We have no more use for her..” he says, motioning for one of his men to free her. She rushes to hug her father, then inches closer to his horse, knowing the Soul Horse will likely be their only method of escape. Meanwhile, behind Mr. Sands a shadowy form rises from the fog off the ocean.. and his chuckle turns into a deep throaty laugh.
“What the..” The Rock looks in horror as pink light emanates from the sigils on the floor of the tanker.
“Garnok!” Sands growls. “Your new earthly vessel has arrived!”
The goons start to swarm Dwayne the Rock Johnson who rips off his shirt and begins to throw down. “RockWalker!” He yells to his Soul Horse, “Get grr Her unf OUT OF HERE!”. The horse nods knowingly, and the daughter leaps on and races away, with a couple of goons very slowly (like, are-they-even-chasing-her slowly?!?!) following behind.
‘All right Garbok, or whatever your name is.” Dwayne the Rock Johnson says as the goons stop to catch their collective breath. He raises the Peoples eyebrow and flexes his muscles. “I don’t know if you even have a nose but you’re about to smell …what the Rock is cookin…”
The Rock fights with a fury never seen in the ring, or any of his films. Goons go flying but Mr Sands seems undeterred, and is in fact smiling, knowing Dwayne The Rock Johnson is only human and will weaken eventually.. When the Soul Horse Rock (the Horse) Walker reappears they fight as a team, having each others back, fighting as one..
But even the strength of Dwayne the Rock Johnson and Rock the Horse Walker combined is no match for a cowardly villain with a blow dart full of tranquilizers.
When the dust settles, our hero is ass up on the floor and his once noble steed is hooves up by his side. “Now,” says Mr. Sands. “Once the planets are aligned at the end of the summer, we can begin the re-bodying process. Lock him up…”
Meanwhile in Moorland… the daughter has called for a trailer (which is what Dwayne the Rock Johnson should have done but you never can tell where the trailer will or won’t go).. and is rallying the troops. She explains, through heavily censored chat, what has become of her father, and that she desperately needs help saving him. Everyone is moved - from the lowliest newb to the highest level Star Rider. Every Druid and Soul Rider. Everyone is eager to help (after all, one could go nuts waiting for new quests and here one has fallen in their laps!). Horses are trained. Spirit is forgotten. Weapons are forged (courtesy of Conrad, a huge Dwayne the Rock Johnson fan).
When people log on there is a new opening scene- telling the very story you see here. Dwayne the Rock Johnson is in need of Jorviks help, and only the best and brightest of the Moorland Stable Girls can save him …

All colours should stay the same, or close to the original, with only the green having a very obvious change. Because if SSO won’t give us autumn feels I guess I’ll do it myself!

On Fandoms, Age, and Gender: The Politics of “ Putting Away Childish Things”
Weighing in on yet another round of “fan spaces are youth spaces” (aka “go home and knit, old lady” or “You’re old enough to be my/someone’s mom! gross!” )
Consider these thoughts:
There’s a whole set of interests and behaviors that you might become interested in as you grow from child to adolescent to young adult and take greater interest in the wider world.
You might like horses, or dolls. Or building models. You might play soccer, or follow baseball every summer and learn about box scores. You might follow the college football draft, or love a pop band. You might deeply admire a rock band and learn to play the guitar. You might love superheroes and see all their movies. You might love space opera and collect paperback books. Maybe you collect trading cards of your favorite team players – or movie moments. You probably get t-shirts and posters of teams, or media outlets. You might get deeply into a social or political cause.
Those are all expressions of interest in the world, all with associated social aspects, many with associated creative actions.
And then you get older. And here’s the thing about that list. The things on that list that are “for boys?” Are also “for men.” But the things on that list that are “for girls” or “for nerds?” Are only “for children.”
Adult men wear brightly colored team clothing and paint their faces without shame. They join fantasy football leagues and hang out online. They follow Phish (or continuously talk about how they did when that was a thing). They spend vast sums on tickets to bowl games. They get excited all over the internet about Geddy Lee’s greatest hits. They spend long afternoons on the golf course, playing very bad golf.
No one tells them to grow up
An adult woman who turns a childhood dollhouse into a beautiful scale model of a real Victorian home is “eccentric.” An adult man who builds a vast HO train layout in his basement is a “train enthusiast.” An adult woman who displays her favorite Bryer horses is “odd,” an adult man with a shelf of signed baseballs is “a collector” or even “an investor.”
Adult women making fanart of attractive movie stars is “creepy,’ while adult men decorating their garages with calendar art of scantily-clad very-young women is “just what guys do.”
Interests and hobbies that were feminine and are taken up by men become acceptable. When The Beatles were greeted with mobs of fainting teen girls, they were a “boy band.” When young men discovered them, they became Serious Musicians.
Over and over, across fields of interest, things that girls like are “toys and games and childish” and should be left behind by adults, while things that boys like are “hobbies and sports” that are lifetime pastimes. And acceptable “hobbies” for adult women? Most are things that could be coded as household chores, but generations of women have worked to turn into enjoyable pastimes: knitting, sewing, quilting. Home decor. Baking. Many adult women (myself included) enjoy doing those things in their free time and have elevated them to art forms. But that doesn’t change the fact that they’re rooted in utility, while “men’s hobbies” are, by and large, rooted in leisure.
Look around you and follow the pattern. And then, before you ask “Why are adult women in fan spaces,” maybe ask “why do I feel like adult women don’t get to have fun?”

if you go over the bridge and then double-back (entering the cave from the exit ie near poe), you can have a nice, beast-free cavern jaunt to collect things
Except if you run past a certain point it triggers the beast to run after you again, but this way it. won’t. STOP. It chased me down to the starting portal

I wish more people got this because some ‘low-empathy’ people are the most compassionate and sympathetic in the universe, and I hate it when that’s taken to mean ‘unfeeling and probably hostile’ when nothing could be further from the truth
Or, as my dad put it,
Sympathy: I know how you feel Empathy: I feel how you feel Compassion: is there anything I can do to help?
Sympathy: that sucks bro empathy: I feel that compassion: want me to send you some puppy and kitten pictures to make you feel better?
Posts like this make me feel so much better. It always seems like society treat responses to others pain as though empathy is the most important kind. I am around 85% compassionate and this post helped me not feel like I am a monster because of that for once.
So, I haven’t seen anyone mention this before, but apparently this is what happens when you try to call for pickup while on the haunted trail ride
