Daisy- 19 she/they This is a side blog (that turned into a main blog), not smut related blog: @the-sparkling-witch-main-space) I used to write One Shots on Ao3 & immigrated to Tumblr for my friends. Requests open! 18+ only!!
Hey guys I decided to make some changes on this blog!
This account t shall be filled with love (and hate sex) and I hope I won't get further influenced by anyone. There might still be a few changes to come like profile picture new masterlists, so please be patient with me there.
Enemies to lovers with Elijah Mikaelson but he actually DESPISES you. A lot of the enemies to lovers I see with him are often built on the reader hating him and Elijah liking the reader. I need one were he tries to kill me multiple times in various tense ways, and then one day we kiss while both still being enemies and then the enemies to lovers start. (please send me all the fanfiction's that are like that)
5.1k words: A rewrite of Episode 20, after I rewrote Episode 19 as well and my brain won't stop ahhh. You can read it without Episode 19 but I'd recommend still reading it.
Warnings: still violence
A/N: I am stressing a little my flight to Sweden goes in 7 hours and I have to be at the airport in 5 hours and I have started with the second revision of the text like 4 hours ago. And I still want to sleep before I go to the airport. I had no time the past two weeks, help and I won't even take my laptop to Sweden. I am stressing because while I am writing this, I still have to read over it a third time. And I am sorry my beta reader did not read through this but I reallyyy wanted to post it. If you wonder now if I will also rewrite Episode 21 then the answer is fuck yea and next Episode will definitely be more Aurora content. I also have to say I rewrote Episode 19 out of spite because I saw a way to save Cami and this Episode was a filler Episode for me and from Episode 21/ beginning of season 4 it will be a pure fan fiction and I will open my own plot points and rewrite what I do not like, I have no shame anymore. Okay enjoy now and wish me a good two weeks in Sweden! (Also that tree they drove their care into when Lucien crashed into them is very present here for literally no particular reason.)
Posting this and I still have 3 hours left to sleep, anyways this will be fun!

Camille's eyes stayed close through the entire session of meditation. When she listened to the soft words that were spoken she wished that she wasn't just pretending to be interested but take something with her from those sessions. She was here because she didn't want to leave the compound when one of the only advantages they had against Lucien was that he didn't know that she was alive but she still definitely needed some professional help. And she was responsible enough to try. She was also here because since she turned into an upgraded Original she had been having horrible visions everytime she tried to close her eyes and relax. . In every vision the ancestors screamed at her that the serum was not hers to have and that they would kill her. Again. Three's a charm or something like that. Elijah had gone through that with her a hundred times now but whenever he tried to talk about her dying for the second time and the ancestors probably hunting her now, her eyes snapped open again and she sighed, "Why do I have to do this again?," she asked annoyed while standing up from the floor where she was sitting cross legged.
Elijah smirked and poured her a drink, "Well despite our incredible advantage, Lucien is still there and interested in killing my entire family. And once he finds out that you are not dead, probably you as well. So if we somehow manage to contact the ancestors they might know a way to kill him."
"And by we you mean me. You expect me to just ask them kindly about how to kill their creating," she said, and threw her drink back. Elijah gave her a look that was filled with so much affection that she had to raise her eyebrows and tilt her head.
"You tend to have the same excessive alcohol consumption as Niklaus," he said with a smile.
Camille groaned and threw herself onto the couch in his room, "Elijah, I really want to help you, but you know that we have been at it for hours. And no offense but you aren't really helping me either."
Elijah pursed his lips, "Camille, we both know that you want to take your revenge on Lucien, so why won't we try again?"
"I don't want to take revenge," she hissed
"I am aware that you told Niklaus about forgiveness and I believe that your compassion lies with Aurora, but I am sure that it is not with the man who made you both go through a lot."
Camille froze and for a second she looked about to lie to Elijah, but his gaze was too piercing so she just nodded, "Alright. Tell me again what to do."

"Lucien has the new regent at his beck and call, my one brother is trying to bring back his almost dead girlfriend that he killed and my other brother is trying to use my almost dead girlfriend to get a connection to the ancestral witches," Klaus scorned and turned towards Hayley, "So no I am not taking the mother of my child to join me on the way to get back my sister that is getting threatened by Lucien and that I and my brother daggered and hid."
"Look, Klaus, we both know how this is going to go down. You're going to tell me that I can't come, and then I'm going to tell you that I love Rebekah, too. Then you're going to say, I'm going to slow you down, and I'm going to remind you that you're the one who cursed me to be a werewolf for six months, and therefore, I know every inch of the bayou. Now, unless you want to be delayed by an angry werewolf grandma with a shotgun, you should just admit that you need me," Hayley said and tapped her foot against the pavement.
Klaus stared at the woman who was one of the only ones he would ever allow to talk to him like that for a second before opening the car door, "I'll drive."
Around half an hour later Hayley walked next to Klaus through the bayou, always keeping up with him. He was not laid back, of course not, he never was when he was determined to do something. But his face didn't look as angry, his body wasn't as tensed as he usually was since Lucien had taken the serum. Hayley smiled a little at him. "You called Cami your girlfriend earlier when you were trying to undermine me," Hayley smirked, nudging him into the side, "Can we say it officially now?"
"Hayley please, we definitely have more important things to do than-"
"Oh, no, no, no, don't you start withdrawing now. Who teased me forever when I slept with Elijah? You are the one always insisting to her all the drama and whose nose is in everyone's business…quite literal sometimes," she was grinning now, "You owe me at least one story."
Klauss rolled his eyes before the glimmer in his eyes betrayed him, "We have not labeled it yet, we aren't some high school teenager, but we confessed our love and went on a date together. In the French Quarter. Because thanks to Lucien I am unable to take her to all the places she wants to see."
Hayley smirked. "God you really are able to be romantic when you want to, aren't you?"
Klaus gave her an amused glance, "Now you know all about my indulgences. So what about you? And my dear brother?"
Hayley groaned, "Oh god, please stop it, it is ridiculous. I don't think that Elijah even wants me anymore after I broke his heart like five times? I don't even know if I still want him."
Klaus almost snorted,"Are you done pretending now, little wolf?," he asked and turned left, away from the pavement and straight into the bushes, his hand transforming into a claw so he could rip it aside for Hayley to walk straight through, “I know your husband is dead and it hurts, but we both know the person you share a true connection with is still breathing. And there is a monster around who is killing Originals so I'd hurry up with my love confession if I were you.”
Hayley didn't respond and only rolled her eyes, "Stop this before Mary hears." Klaus only shook his head at the horrible excuse but continued his walk, a little more determined now.

Davina was trying not to cry openly as she looked from the ring she was floating in towards Kol. Kol shook his head while explaining to her how her soul would have been shredded into pieces if the ancestors would have used the lifeblood stone on her.
"They really hate me," she whispered, "I just…god I didn't mean to do what I did to the community, but it was necessary and now they all want me dead…"
"You don't have to explain," Kol said and sat in front of the circle, "I know what you mean, but you don't have to worry anymore, alright? You are safe."
"You are going to bring me back today, right?," she asked, her voice a little stressed. Never again did she want to experience what it was like to be almost deleted from existence by the ancestors. She knew that she was unable to reach through the wall of chalk that Freya had drawn onto the floor, but she was still glad to see him.
"Yes," Kol said and then thought for a second, "Davina, I am so sorry. The second you are back I shall do anything to stay away from you as far as possible. You will never have to suffer from my hand again," Kol said, his third try at apologising tonight. But nothing felt right. He couldn't forget the look on her face when he had bitten her, or how it had felt to hold her dead body in his arms.
Davina interrupted him once again, “Please don’t waste your time by pretending that this was your fault. I just want to come back to life, alright?”
Kol wanted to disagree, to say that he should have asked Nik to dagger him or try anything else but he immediately stopped himself and looked up as he heard his sister entering the room. Freya looked thoughtful and bit her lip while shaking her head slowly as she looked at Davina. "What is it?," he asked, annoyed that his sister had interrupted this moment while she clearly did not seem to have a solution..
"I…I need to talk about something with Elijah and Klaus," she said, meeting Davina's eyes one more time before leaving the room.
"Your siblings are weird," Davina commented and Kol shrugged.
"Klaus promised me to make sure to help me to bring you back so I guess I shall take what I get.
Neither of them were aware of the discussion happening outside while Freya was on her phone.
“There is a way to kill Lucien, as Davina's caught between our worlds, I can use her as a conduit to channel power from the Ancestors. The same power that was used to create Lucien. Once I have it, I can make Lucien killable again,“ Freya said after dialing Klaus‘ number.
“Sounds great, what's the downside?,” Klaus asked unimpressed and annoyed that he had to stop his walk to Rebekah for this Hayley motioned for him to put Freya on speaker. She had heard everything with her vampire hearing already.
“In order to take power from the Ancestors, you have to steal it. Which means, to make Lucien killable, I'll have to draw through Davina, while she's in the Ancestral Well. And to do that, I will have to break the circle that protects her."
“They’ll rip her apart, Klaus she is just a kid,” Hayley protested and Klaus nodded, “Yes. Find another way. If we destroy Davina, we lose both Kol and Marcel. I won't have us all turning on each other. Keep looking, sister,“ he commanded, with that he hung up.
Hayley looked at him and titled her head, "You know…Cami would be proud of you."
Klaus lifted his hands, "Please stop mentioning her for five minutes," he said but there was no bite in his voice, "Davina is a powerful witch and if we are able to save her we have Kol, Marcel and her on our side or at least not as enemies. It is all just tactical for me."
Klaus wasn't angry that Hayley was teasing him, but he was trying to stay focused on his search for Rebekah, which proved to be repeatedly harder the more his thoughts were focused on Camille. He wondered if she was safe and if she was able to stop Freya from going through with her plan of sacrificing Davina if she decided to act on her own.
When he put Rebekah's coffin into the car, he finally pulled his phone from his jacket. The entire time he had tried not to succumb to his worries, yet he found himself dialing Elija's number as always, who picked it up immediately.
"Brother," he said and Klaus sat into his car, waiting for Hayley to close the door before he pressed on the clutch and put in first gear.
"We retrieved Rebekah from the bayou. How is…she?," he asked worriedly. He didn't even try to hide it. If there was someone who would see through it, it would be Elijah anyway. Elijah looked at Camille and tilted his head.
"Fine to some degree. We don't know why those visions keep happening repeatedly and we have no idea if the same thing is happening to Lucien. The meditation was of no use. they just exhausted her more," Elijah sighed and suddenly Camille's eyes shot open.
"Lucien knows exactly where Rebekah is and he knows that Klaus and Hayley went to get her!," she said, panicking and jumped up, "I saw it. I just- I was in his apartment and then there was the regent who worked for him and they found that out. Lucien had Van prepare his care and they are already on their way!"
"Did you hear that?," Elijah asked.
"Yes. Do not let her come here. We shall find a way,"Klaus commanded, "Another thing. Freya has been considering sacrificing Davina to stop Lucien. Just make sure our sister stays in line," he said and hung up.
Elijah lowered his phone, "We need to help them. I know that I am unable to stop you. But let me come. We defeated Tristan together, we are able to take Lucien."
Camille nodded slowly, "I have an idea," she said with a smirk and Elijah knew he was in for another dangerous ride that would make him question everything.
-
Klaus had just hung up and smirked at Hayley, "You are aware that your heartrate spikes everytime Elijah is talking-"
A bang sounded and for a second Klaus had no idea where he was. For a second everything was still. He felt himself leaning to the left side, the tree that he had just driven by coming closer and closer. Only when he felt Hayley falling against him did he realise that a car had driven into them. He was thrown from the side, through the window, the seatbelt holding him back before the cars both drove into a tree and Klaus' neck snapped.
Klaus moved his neck back and unfastened his seatbelt as quickly as possible and pulled himself out of the car wreck waiting for his healing to set in. His eyes widened as he saw Hayley in front of him, a stake driven through her heart. Whoever had done this knew exactly that this would not kill a Hybrid. Which meant that that certain someone was playing with him and that left only one person.
"Nik, I was hoping that I'd run into you," Lucien said with a chuckle and punched Klaus straight into his gut. Klaus was thrown several meters back and clashed right against the same tree the car had crashed into. He knew that he'd recover soon but he wasn't sure if that would be fast enough. Lucien could always decide to just bite him and end it right then and there. But the fact that he hadn't killed Hayley meant that he wasn't interested in any of this just yet and just wanted to play a little bit. And as long as Lucien was distracted and on his weird power trip he was unable to hurt Hayley.
Klaus hissed at him and flashed his werewolf teeth, his face turning into his Hybrid nature.. "Oh come on now, there is no fun if it is easy, at least Cami went down swinging! When can we expect a funeral by the way?," he laughed and looked at Hayley, "You can always turn it into a double wake. Both died from the same cause anyway, didn't they?"
Klaus stopped for a second, his mind was racing, for a second he considered telling Lucien about how brave Cami was and that she had survived him and no one would ever be able to touch her again. But he refused to do it, the last thing he needed was for Lucien to set his target on Camille's back again.
Klaus looked at his hand and recognised his broken hand. He took a deep breath before throwing the broken car door right at Lucien's stupid face. Klaus didn't even wince at the pain. A thousand years of living can make you immune to most painful things. He stepped out of the car wreck, as Lucien was thrown to the side.
"Oh what happened? Are you too heartbroken to talk about her?," Lucien laughed and his gaze wandered to Hayley. "Maybe I should kill the mother of your child now. Let's see if you'll be able to talk about that. And then your sister. The one in the coffin first of course. Then the three most important women in your life would be dead. Third time's a charm, hm? I would tie you down, knowing that you cannot do anything against me, while I make you watch before I also kill your brother. And your other brother. And your other sister. You luckily do not have a shortage of siblings, do you? I'd also kill your adoptive son. Oh but don't worry I would not kill your daughter. I'd leave the girl to the witches. I bet they would be able to find a completely new way to sacrifice her they were pretty creative in the past I heard. And I bet the ancestors would appreciate me for it. But you…I think I would draw your death out, of course. A little torture this, a little torture that. Maybe every vampire in the city is allowed to take one stab and when I bite you then it will be a bite of mercy. And somehow between watching me torture Kol and Marcel you would realise that the powerful Klaus Mikaelson is incapable of fighting me. God, Nik how does it feel? Tell me! How does it feel to be completely powerless against the man YOU YOURSELF SIRED?! HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE NOTHING? HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE THE MAKER AND STILL BE WEAK?"
Lucien has talked himself into a rage and Klaus was using the time to recover as he just starred and didn't interrupt his monologue. He watched him posturing, lifting his arms to the air and laughing like a super villain in a stupid movie. Klaus closed his eyes and lowered his head. He knew that he'd have to think before acting on impulse. He needed to get himself and Hayley out alive. He noticed her hand lifting slightly before falling back down and knew it wouldn't take long before she'd wake up and Lucien would make his threats come true. He couldn't let that happen. He used his vampire powers to speed into the barn on the side of the road effectively escaping Lucien's for about two seconds. Lucien looked up confused and a little bewildered from his speech, as if someone had ripped him right out of a dream and sighed, "You can't hide forever Nik!," he shouted before following him.
-
"If we do that it would be one of the most dangerous things we have ever done. Not only for Davina but also for everyone else," Freya said carefully. Camille and Elijah had just stomped downstairs to tell her about their plan. Well Cami had stomped. Elijah had followed her without a protest but a big frown on his face.
"More dangerous than sacrificing her?," Camille asked dryly and Freya's face flushed in embarrassment as Kol looked up.
"You wanted to do what?," he asked, his eyes flashing as he looked at his sister.
"I just said that it was an op-"
"Can you all stop this now?!," Camille screamed, "Why don't we just try it? If it doesn't work we can still find another plan."
"That is the problem, we might not get a second chance," Freya said, shaking her head. It was clear that she didn't want to sacrifice anyone but she had also inherited the certain Mikaelson charm where she just didn't care.
"Well anyone who tries sacrificing Davina will have to answer to me," Kol said angrily.
"Who wants to sacrifice whom?," Marcel asked as he entered the compound, followed by Vincent.
"No one," Cami said and repeated her plan to them. Vincent tilted his head, "We surely could try. It seems like the only reasonable option."
"But-," Freya insisted. Elijah shook his head, "Leave it sister. We shall try Cami's way," a smirk formed on his lips, "I fear that she is going to force us anyway."
Freya sighed, "Alright then we need to hurry, let's keep going." Marcel nodded, "We are taking my car. And I'll send more vampires as support. Vincent, you need to stay ready. Davina looked between them, "Thank you, Cami," she said softly and Camille gave her a soft smile.
"I will not let anyone hurt you as long as I can stop them," she said and Davina lowered her head. Since she was sixteen she had not talked to her mother or felt any warmth from her coven. Marcel had been a great adoptive parent for her but Cami had truly managed to almost replace her mother for the past two years. And the fact that she was ready to risk everything for her made Davina feel warm inside.
-
Lucien had meanwhile managed to force Klaus in the corner of the barn where he had followed him earlier. He continued to throw Klaus across the rooms repeatedly. Every time he had him in his right grip he let his teeth scrape over his neck before winking at him and letting go again, "Count your heartbeats, Klaus," he said with the smirk he had been giving him the entire fight. Klaus wished that he could punch the stupid grin right out of his face.
The first few times Klaus had seen his life flashing in front of his eyes, he had remembered every little thing he still wanted to tell not only Cami but Elijah, Hayley, Kol, Marcel, Freya. Words for everyone were going through his head repeatedly. But now he was almost starting to get bored. Lucien enjoyed teasing him endlessly and never quite biting and although Klaus had nothing but disdain left for him he was not used to this situation and it scared him.
Once again Lucien lowered his head almost in slow motion and Klaus could imagine how his fangs would feel piercing through his flesh. He swallowed hard and grabbed behind himself, pulling out the knife from the abandoned kitchen island and pierced it right through Lucien's right cheek, his mouth and out on his left. Then he ripped it forward, cutting the skin. Lucien screamed absolutely not amused anymore but now truly angry. Klaus used the moment to push the knife into Lucien's heart. His foot kicked into Lucien's stomach throwing him against the wall.
"Klaus!," Hayley shouted and he turned around to see her. Her face was still pale from the recovery of being stabbed and Kalus could curse her. He had hoped that she'd run and he'd only have to worry about how he was getting out with Rebekah's coffin.
Klaus' hand quickly pressed against her shoulder and led her outside, "Quick," he mumbled. Suddenly he felt Lucien's hand at his back and he flew across the street right into the same tree he had already crushed twice tonight.
Lucien smirked at him and saw Klaus' eyes flashing yellow as he started to transform into a werewolf. But Klaus wasn't fast enough, Lucien grabbed Hayley and pulled her close, pushing his hand right through her back, his hand grabbing around her heart.
“Oh well, a queen and a king caught by a one-time pawn. Thus the game comes to it's inevitable end,” Lucien chuckled and smirked as he saw Klaus turning his head not believing the situation he was currently in.
“What are you proving by killing her? It's me you hate,” Klaus hissed
Lucien frowned, Klaus’ words had clearly triggered a deep anger inside him. After all this years he had never been able to solve the hatred against the ones who better him, “Was I not clear when I murdered Finn and Camille? I don't care who dies! But since you do, indulge me and I might just spare the mother of your child. Kneel!” Klaus looked away averting his gaze. He knew well enough that Lucien was serious but his pride was fighting with him. The last person he had kneeled in front was his father and he had promised to himself to never let anyone do this to him ever again. He closed his eyes as Lucien tightened his grip on Hayley’s heart. Hayley coughed and her eyes were meeting Klaus' they were full of pain and in that moment Klaus couldn't have cared less what he swore. If this would make Hayley live for even a moment longer than he'd do it.
“Get on your knees! I can feel her heart pounding in my fist. Do you really want to measure your pride against my mercy?,” Lucien screamed. Klaus took a deep breath before slowly sinking onto his knees in front of him, bowing his head in a gesture that seemed almost like mock respect.
Suddenly Camille appeared behind them and grabbed Lucien, throwing him onto the ground, “You bastard!,” she screamed. Klaus immediately used his vampire speed to grab Hayley and bring her out of the danger zone.
Freya emerged from the car, "Camille, now!," she screamed and Cami broke Lucien's arm while Freya started to chant a spell. Freya closed her eyes and Elijah bit his wrist to let Hayley and Klaus drink from it. Hayley collapsed against him, immediately lifting herself up again.
"It is fine. It is almost over. You can relax," Elijah whispered. Freya finished her spell and Marcel left the car.
"Put him into the trunk," he commanded, "We don't have much time."
Freya took a deep breath and Marcel helped her back into the car. Camille and Klaus put Lucien into the car while Klaus looked at Cami.
"I told you not to come," he said and Camille rolled her eyes.
"Just say thank you. And in case you have not noticed yet, I am a lot stronger than you now. You are the one who has to be protected right now," she said and closed the car. Elijah looked at the six people expecting to fit into a four people car, "We might need to stack a little," he said dryly.
-
Marcel drove them back to the compound like a crazed out man. The one hour drive took him about fifteen minutes. Freya had no idea for how long Lucien would stay conscious and Marcel made sure that if they wouldn't be on time they'd all be killed by a crash instead of Lucien. When they arrived his hand was already twitching again. Klaus helped Camille who opened the door. Marcel carried Lucien inside and threw him onto the floor. Lucien's eyes flew open and he bared his teeth looking confused as all the vampires basically jumped from him. Camille didn't even waste a second before she kicked him right into the face making him fall onto his stomach.
"God I love her," Klaus said before Vicnent stood up. He had been kneeling on the ground for almost the entire time they were gone now, hunched over an old spellbook.
"We have a time span of two minutes," he said.
"What is the plan?," Hayley asked and her eyes widened as Freya gave Lucien a push right into the circle where Davina was standing.
Lucien's spirit immediately left his body and it fell to the floor, they could all see him now standing inside that circle looking almost afraid.
Lucien's ghost tried to attack Davina but he gripped right through her. "You can kill me but the prophecy still stands!," he screamed, "You cannot outrun it! Niklaus Mikaelson I hate you!"
Vincent and Freya started to chant and Klaus watched them as he stepped closer to the circle in which Davina and Lucien were trapped. “I've heard about 1000 years too much from you. For a century you lived with my name and you never did quite recover from losing it, did you? You became a man of wealth and stature but you never could crawl from my shadow, and in the end, despite the gift of immortality, you have always known what you truly are. You are nothing,“ Klaus said before smirking tilting his head, “Where is your family now Lucien? Where is the woman you tried to impress by wealth and status? And where will you be?"
Davina screamed as the curse took place. Blood poured out of her eyes and Kol jumped up but helped himself back, as the same started to happen to Lucien. For a second both Davina and Lucien disappeared. Without a warning. Without a grand sound. They just disappeared.
"Where is she?!," Kol shouted loudly. Vincent lifted his hand and Elijah held his brother back.
Camille stared at the bodies of Lucien and Davina who were laying right next to each other. Suddenly Davina's body was twitching and the witch took a deep breath. Kol immediately calmed and everyone was turning towards her. Vincent's eyes widened but only when Davina stepped out of the circle did exhale the air he had been holding.
"Oh thank god," Marcel said and hugged Davina tightly. She turned back to Lucien and Klaus raised an eyebrow.
"Is anyone going to enlighten me now how exactly you all just did that?," Klaus asked. Cami smiled and lifted a black metal ball from the floor that had been placed in front of Vincent.
"I read something similar in the book that my uncle left me," Camille explained, "So I thought that my dark objects could help to trap Lucien in the same state Davina is in and then confuse the ancestors who is who and while they are still deciding, bring Davina back.
Davina had stopped hugging Kol and Marcel and walked to Cami holding her tightly. "Thank you Cami." They separated and Cami smiled. Davina turned to Klaus and awkwardly nodded, "Thanks. I guess."
Klaus chuckled and pulled Camille closer, "So I will have to listen to your complaints for longer now," he said to Davina.
-
When night set in Hayley knocked at Elijah’s door. It was unnecessary, he had long heard her coming. Elijah put away the glass of whiskey that he had been drinking.
“When we were running through the bayou today Klaus told me that I might not have much time left. And neither do you,” Hayley said, carefully as she stepped closer, “But now Lucien is dead and it is really tempting to just fall back into old patterns. Ignoring you, hurting you…and so on.”
Elijah stood up to stop her but Hayley shook her head, “Please let me finish. I don’t want to hurt you,” she said, “But I am also selfish. I still think about Jackson. And how this would hurt him and how maybe this does not honour him. But at the same time I can’t do this anymore. I love you, Elijah,” Hayley whispered.
Elijah stared at her, before walking closer and grabbing the back of her neck to kiss her deeply.
hi can you write more Klaus x reader comfort (but it'd she comforting him)

Summery: When the storm inside Klaus’s mind becomes too loud to bear, you offer him the one thing a thousand years of power could never buy him: a quiet place to fall apart.
Pairing: Klaus Mikaelson x f!reader
Genre: Hurt/comfort
The scent of aged whiskey and faint iron hung heavy in the study of the New Orleans compound. Rain rattled against the tall French windows, but inside, the silence was suffocating.
Klaus sat at his desk, head buried in his hands, dark curls falling wild and untamed over his knuckles. On the canvas behind him, violent strokes of crimson and charcoal reflected the storm raging inside his mind—another betrayal, another piece of his carefully built world threatened, and another night where the weight of a thousand years felt impossible to carry.
You stepped quietly into the room, barefoot, your soft footsteps muffled by the velvet rug. You didn't speak right away. With Klaus, words were often weapons, and when his defenses were up, even the gentlest sentence could sound like a challenge.
Instead, you walked over to the side of his chair and gently placed a hand on his shoulder.
He stiffened instantly, muscle memory from a millennium of paranoia kicking in. But as your warmth seeped through his linen shirt, the tension bled out of his frame, replaced by a weary, shuddering breath.
"You should be sleeping, love," his voice was rough, a gravelly whisper stripped of his usual theatrical grandeur.
"And leave you here alone with your thoughts?" you murmured softly, resting your hip against the mahogany edge of his desk. "That sounds like a dangerous place to be tonight."
Klaus let out a humorless, breathy huff, finally lifting his head. His eyes—usually so sharp and calculating—were rimmed with red, brimming with an ancient, exhausting grief.
"They always leave," he muttered, gazing past you toward the rain-streaked glass. "Or they plot. Or they fear me so much they force my hand. I build an empire to keep us safe, yet I am always left standing alone in the ruins."
"You aren't alone, Klaus."
"For how long?" He looked up at you then, the full force of his intensity locked onto your face, desperate for a crack in your armor, a hint of deceit. "Until the monster becomes too much for even you to bear?"
Instead of answering with grand promises, you reached down and cupped his jaw, your thumb gently tracing the high line of his cheekbone. Klaus closed his eyes at the touch, leaning his face into your palm as if he were starving for soft skin that didn't demand power or blood.
"Look at me," you whispered.
He opened his eyes, searching yours.
"I know who you are, Klaus Mikaelson," you said, your voice steady and unwavering. "I know the hybrid. I know the terror of New Orleans. But I also know the man who paints when the world gets too loud, who loves his family so fiercely it tears him apart, and who carries the weight of a thousand years on shoulders that were never given a break."
A soft breath escaped his lips, a crack in his formidable facade.
You pulled gently on his hand, encouraging him to stand. He yielded, rising from the heavy leather chair. You guided him over to the plush velvet sofa in the corner of the room, sitting down and pulling him with you. Without a word, Klaus leaned his head down into your lap, resting his face against your stomach as his long arms wrapped tightly around your waist, clinging to you like an anchor in a tempest.
You began running your fingers through his soft curls, soothing the frantic beat of his heart.
"I'm not going anywhere," you whispered into the quiet room, continuing the gentle, rhythmic motion through his hair. "Let the world rage outside for a few hours. You don't have to fight tonight."
For the first time in weeks, the tension fully drained from his shoulders. A quiet, grounded calm settled over him, shielded from the shadows of his past by the simple warmth of your arms.
"You should create for yourself" and "it's okay to feel discouraged when creating your own original projects if no one interacts with them" are two sentences that should be able to co-exist with each other
On the one hand, you should kill that capitalist in your head that tells you to make art only for the enjoyment of other people. On the other hand, it's totally fine to be disappointed that you spent hours or even days on something that only got 4 notes. You can feel both ways.
One of my favourite things about all of us Elejah writers is that we collectively decided he calls her "lovely Elena" all the time, when canonically, he does it twice (?) and never to her face
This is my new favorite way of finding out what to post, because I feel really motivated every time I see that people voted and then I want to write.
Sooooo after I posted the rewrite of Season 3 Episode 19 (shameless self promotion) yesterday I am really ambitious to just rewrite the rest of the 3rd and the entire 4th and 5th season. We all know that this will take me forever but whatever. Also this week I finally looked into my inbox and there are so many requests I promise that I'll try to write them all, this will be the last week until September where I don't write a request.
So what should I post in the next two weeks
The rewrite of Season 3 Episode 20 with Camille being alive
Elijah x Gia's first time together (the third week this is an option haha)
Voting ended onJul 20
I'm just going to give myself two weeks which is probably more than I need so that I am not stressed and my beta reader (shoutout @thebreadtree you may blame all the mistakes on her) has time to correct it. Okie I love everyone have a good summer you will definitely hear from me.
6k words: An attempt at a rewrite of Originals Season 3 Episode 19 "No more heartbreaks" where some things turn out a little differently and they all act a little smarter.
Warnings: a little violence (the whole Davina/Kol thing and Camille is obviously bitten)
A/N: I actually made it a lot earlier than I promised, but I also came home from work yesterday and wrote for three hours. I was mad because I hate that episode so much because it makes me crazy that they all just acted like absolute idiots when they were always portrayed as smart and cunning. Like did anyone even have one brain cell in that episode? Oki anyways this will be straight up Klamille, I hope you enjoy it. If you prefer to read on Ao3. I also have a crush on Leah Pipes which has nothing to do with anything but I felt like confessing. Also I hate this mood board I think I am going to change it soon.

"I can tell you, I love you tomorrow, you are not dying today," Klaus cursed as he picked Cami up, cradling her head almost aggressively against his chest, while carrying her upstairs the compound.
His heart was racing, his mind trying desperately not to short circuit as he looked at Lucien's bitemark again. He was trying to make sense of this, but none of it seemed to work. He had seen how his own brother Finn had succumbed to the pains of this bite and he knew that his blood could not help Cami survive this. He wondered if that was how all the vampires he had bitten over the years, as a form of revenge, had felt. If this was the helplessness his victims had suffered from. But as he put Cami down he just frowned. He was not going to think about anyone else while the love of his life was lying right there, shaking against him.
"Cami," Hayley's voice said as she saw Klaus carrying Camille upstairs into his bedroom. She followed him and stared at her friend, her eyes immediately finding the bite mark. Klaus looked at Hayley and gave her a short nod, "Don't worry. We shall find a solution. We always do."
Hayley swallowed hard and gave him a quick nod. "I am going to call everyone we can find, who might want to help us. It won't be hard. Everyone loves her." Klaus looked down at Camille and nodded. He knew that if he or one of his siblings would be in this position no one would come for their rescue. But Camille…she might have a chance. And he was not someone to give up easily.

Camille O'Connell would have never called herself a brave woman. Especially not in a town full of vampires, not while witnessing how people like Hayley gave up everything for her family.
But after she had finally accepted her transformation she had started to use some self-esteem practices that she had learned during her studies, and was now able to admit to herself that she was capable of brave actions.
Deciding to go into the safe house with Elijah. Deciding not to die. Deciding to save Klaus from Aurora. Deciding to trust Klaus Mikaelson. But at this moment she did not feel brave. She felt horrible and dreadful. Yet she tried desperately to not be angry at Aurora, while pulling up her sleeve to look at the horrible bite mark Lucien had left on her. Despite that she could feel a small rage burning inside her.
"Camille," a voice called for her and she sat up abruptly. She hadn't even noticed that she had fallen asleep after Freya had put on a salve that should ease her pain. She looked at Klaus who was still sitting behind her, holding her hand. A warm feeling was spreading inside her, despite her head spinning a little as she realized that it had not been Klaus who had called out for her.
"Elijah," she sighed and gave him a soft smile.
"How are you?," he asked and Camille knew that he knew that she felt like shit. He was just asking in that polite Elijah way that she had always admired and hated at the same time. Her smile transformed into a grin and she chuckled, "Well beside the fact that I am dying I'd say that I am pretty fine. Everyone feels guilty. My favourite ambiance," the silence was deafening and Klaus' hand tightened. Cami rolled her eyes and looked at Elijah.
"Humor me, please?," she asked and Elijah gave her a small smirk in response.
"At least you have not lost your spirit yet," he commented when suddenly Vincent burst through the door.
"I came the second I heard. Cami, I am so sorry," he stammered his voice full of regret. Camille closed her eyes. She didn't want to answer. She didn't feel like she had too. Her head hurt, she felt sick and everyone around her was apologising, but was anyone actually doing something? No. Hayley was looking around trying desperately to think about a solution, while Klaus was soaking in his misery and Vincent in his guilt. At least Freya was useful. Camille hated herself a little for those thoughts. She was wound up and tired and she just wanted to sleep really badly and wake up once this nightmare was over. She had come to the Mikaelson compound to tell Klaus that she loves him. She had already convinced herself that she was dying and that even her immortal-hybrid-situationship was unable to do something about it. And now everyone was standing around her, and trying to fix it. And they were so loud. God, why did everything have to be so loud?
"Well you should be," Klaus hissed at Vincent, unaware of Camille's internal turmoil, "This is your f-"
"Niklaus," Elijah warned, "We may not have much time. Let Vincent do what he has to."
"And what might that be? What does he have to do?," Klaus asked, his tone icy, as he looked like he was about to commit a murder.
"Klaus please stop," Cami said, finally managing to open both of her eyes again and fight against the continuous poking inside her head. She sat up and took his arm, luckily he was not standing far from her. For some reason she was the calmest in the room and when Klaus noticed that, his face immediately softened. Yet it tensed again, the second he turned around and saw how weak Camille looked. He wanted to be calm for her, but maybe right now was not the time. Now was the time to threaten and command, why was he the damn King of this city if he couldn't decide who lived and who died?
"I think I know how to fix this. Lucien has always been obsessed with me, he made himself like me, my bite is cured by my blood, so his blood will save Camille," Klaus insisted, turning back to Vincent and Elijah. Vincent nodded slowly.
"Yea that makes sense, we got a working theory, now how do we get his blood?," Vincent inquired, his guilt gone and replaced by sheer determination. Camille looked between them as she remembered the horrible moment in which Lucien had killed her, "His blood is all over my apartment, I sliced him to hell before I ran."
"Okay I got this one, Lucien's got no reason to look out for me," Vincent nodded but Klaus shook his head.
"No. Anyone can fetch that blood, go and compel a human to bring it," Klaus dictated Elijah, before looking back at Vincent, his eyes less dangerous and more resolute, "You are going to stay here and find another solution, just in case the blood doesn't work."
"Maybe we hedge our bets. Hope is a Mikaelson witch who carries the wolf gene, we already know that she's got healing powers," Hayley, who had been silent until now, reminded.
"It's worth a try," Freya nodded.
"I'll tell Mary that I am coming," Hayley squeezed Cami's hand, the hand Klaus was not holding, before leaving the room.
Klaus gave Elijah a short nod and he followed her out of the room.

Klaus was standing above Aurora's covered body, his eyes full of regret and hate. He remembered the discussion he had with Camille after he hadn't killed Aurora but decided to wall her up. He had truly believed that this was the better solution, that this was the way Aurora would regret what she had done to his Cami, but now he stood there, looking down and realising that Cami had been right all along.
They always crawl back from the grave. And for some reason she had to suffer because of it. He sighed as he heard Camille getting up from his bed and walk towards his study. He hadn't expected her to stay there for long. The last time she had been in his bed, she had killed herself due to Aurora's compulsion and became a vampire. A night that Klaus will regret forever.
"You should be lying down," Klaus muttered in thought as he looked up. Camille smiled and shrugged, "You should be getting me soup. It's the one advantage of being sick."
"Can you two maybe flirt in another room?," Vincent asked, annoyed from where he was sitting on the floor and Cami let out a small scream as the witch stared them down. Her vampire hearing was a little impaired due to the bite and she hadn't noticed his presence, while he was studying an old grimoire.
"Come on love" Klaus suggested, his usual smirk failing to appear as he took Camille's unbitten arm softly and guided her outside," Your friend prefers the quiet and so do I."
–
Freya had brought Camille a small vial to stop the infection from spreading faster and Camille felt already well enough to plunder the Mikaelson bourbon dash again, "One last time," she commented while pouring herself a drink, giving Klaus her most mischievous smile. Klaus only saw the prettiest woman he had ever seen, stealing his bourbon and watched her with unhidden affection and a smirk as she inspected every bottle like the professional bartender she used to be.
"If I die at least I will die with bourbon in my blood. Right next to Lucien's venom," she grinned. Klaus shook his head and he used his vampire speed to pull her away from the table.
"Listen to me carefully, love," he insisted, making sure that she was looking into his eyes, "You may have any alcohol you have ever wanted from my collection. I'll rob Elijah's cellar or his secret stash that he thinks I don't know about. But do not say that this is going to be your last drink. Because I am going to save you. I'll do Whatever. It. Takes. Do you hear me? I will protect you, Always and Forever."
Camille lowered her head, but Klaus was having none of that and immediately forced her to look at him again, "Please. Do not look away from me. Just say it."
"Always and Forever," Cami whispered and Klaus kissed her forehead, pulling her tightly against his chest.
"Do not think about dying now, Cami," he whispered and continued to kiss her hair while stroking her back. He inhaled the scent of the vanilla perfume she had gotten from Davina as an apology that Kol had been angry with her.
She used to wear a cinnamon one, he knew that one just as well, but Cami had been unable to wear that after turning into a vampire since it had completely overstimulated her senses. Klaus wouldn't have cared if she had never put on perfume again, but he was glad that she had been able to get some sense of normality back into her everyday life. When he looked at it like that he realises how estranged they had become after her transformation, he had no idea what her everyday life actually looked like.
"Then what else am I supposed to do?," Camille asked helplessly, looking up at him. Klaus thought about that and then pulled her with him, upstairs into his study, past the room where Vincent was still trying to figure out how to save her. Klaus did not let her look.
"We are going to make a list," he said and put a big paper in front of her, "A list of all the places where I am going to take you, after I served you Lucien's head on a silver plate."
In spite of herself Cami had to giggle a little, to try and set her nervousness aside, "Oh God, please do not do that," Klaus smirked and let go of her. "So are you mixing me a drink, or what?," he nudged her and opened another cabinet full of alcohol.
"Do you just have one of those in every room?," Camille asked dryly.
"Not in the nursery, what kind of father do you think I am?"
-
An hour passed quickly, Klaus knew because regardless of his brave words earlier he had done nothing but look at the clock waiting for Hayley's, Elijah's and the compelled woman's return. Cami meanwhile had let her imagination run free. He was sure that she did not trust the cure one hundred percent but that she was hiding it to not make him feel bad. That was another reason why he wanted to save her from this bite.
She was currently drawing a sunflower on the paper where she had listed a lot of destinations.
Sweden (to find out if you can ride on sleighs there)
Kyoto (to win the egg game against a geisha)
London (to see Klaus' old castle and look at pictures of Lord Niklaus)
Mystic Falls (this one was probably only a joke but Camille had looked pretty serious while announcing that she wanted to see the love triangle Klaus had told her about)
Erfurt (she had searched for a fifth one)
Klaus was just mixing her third drink, (a mojito, she had forced him to learn how to mix it because she had insisted that he'd be a cool dad if he could show Hope how to do it, once she was old enough. He had sat beside her patiently while she had explained everything very clearly to him and it had taken him a few tries to make the perfect Mojito but Camille was pretty proud of him. Klaus had no intention of showing Hope though.) as the compelled woman stormed in with a bag of blood in her hand. Klaus took it immediately, compelling her to forget what had happened without another thought.
Camille stood up and Klaus wordlessly pressed the bag into her hand and Camille put it into her drink, before throwing it back expertly.
"Everything will be fine, I promised you," Klaus whispered and rubbed Cami's back.
-
Cami was just moving back to Klaus' bed, her head was hurting more and more, even though she drank the blood she did not feel better, she only felt sicker. She did enjoy drinking blood, any vampire did, but this was different. It had settled in her stomach making her want to throw it up immediately but she didn't want to tell anyone. Klaus looked up as Vincent joined them, clearly wanting to say something as suddenly his phone rang.
"Davina, have you found anything?," he asked bluntly and put her on speaker. Cami sat up listening quietly as she heard Davina panting through the phone. It sounded as if she was crying and she was clearly running. Cami and Vincent both frowned while Klaus massaged his temples.
"Vincent- I- I- am just leaving Rousseau's after talking to Lucien and he said…he said that there is no cure to his bite. Nothing that we can do," she sobbed. Camille took the phone from Vincent.
"Davina, it is okay. What else has happened, are you alright?," she asked worriedly. She still felt responsible for Davina even now that she was an adult, and she felt sick at the thought that the poor girl had encountered Lucien.
"I…I don't know. I'll have to find out," Davina whimpered, "Cami whatever happens, just know that I love you."
"I love you too, sweet girl. Take care," Cami whispered and hung up, handing Vincent his phone back.
"No. No, no, no, no, no," Klaus growled angrily, "I don't care who you have to kill, which ancestor you are going to make angry or what is going to happen to anyone else!," he snatched Vincent's shoulders with both of his hands, his golden eyes on full display, his veins rippling around his face, as he shook the witch, "You'll find a way! It is your fault! This is your mistake! Your doing! You will fix it or you shall answer to me!"
"Klaus, let go of him!," Cami screamed and tore at Klaus' hands, trying to get him off of Vincent. Klaus snarled and threw him onto the floor, before his hands cradled Cami's face.
"You will not die, Camille. I will not allow it," he hissed angrily and looked back at Vincent.
"Hey, hey, I am going to be okay," Cami whispered, "Look at me Klaus, I am fine, am I not? I am sure that Vincent is trying his best, okay?"
Klaus looked back at Vincent, his head was lowered. "Listen Klaus, maybe there is another way. But it might not work or be dangerous…," Vincent started as suddenly Cami stumbled to the side. Klaus caught her and she whimpered before her head fell forward and she passed out against his chest again. He turned towards Vincent before picking her up properly.
"I do not care what it is. Do it. You have everything at your disposal," Klaus demanded and carried Camille up to his bed.
Vincent closed his eyes before nodding and ran as fast as he could back into the room where he had come from.
-
Klaus smiled at Camille who was sitting opposite to him in a small café in the French Quarter, her hands in Klaus' as she listened to the music.
"Perfect day at a corner cafe. You really outdid yourself. If only it were real," she smirked and Klaus lowered his head giving her a soft smile. This mind illusion was his way to ease her pain and give everyone else more time to find another solution. A better one.
"I am being honest with you. I don't know if Lucien's blood will heal you. I don't know if Hope's blood will. All I know is that I am not going to stop until you are safe," he looked around
"Klaus?," Camille asked suddenly, a little more stressed, taking his hand into hers as he stood up, "What if I die today? What if Vincent and Freya do not find a cure in time?"
"Then I will avenge you. And I shall no longer rest, before you aren't brought back. This is New Orleans. If my dead as a doornail father is able to return three times than you can as well," Klaus said trying to hide how serious he was with a forced smirk, as he pulled her up and into his arms. He couldn't remember the last time when he had hugged someone so often. Camille held onto him tightly and nodded as Klaus kissed her hair. She followed him, letting him guide her along a side street through the quarter, heading to the main one. She kissed his cheek and nodded.
"Please promise me to not be too hung up on revenge," she sighed and Klaus raised an eyebrow as a drunken man stumbled right into him.
"You expect me to forget you?," he asked.
"I didn't say that. I meant that I expect you to be there for your daughter and teach her how to mourn someone without leaving bodies in your wake."
Klaus smiled, "You may teach her that. I will teach her how to be a leader."
Camille rolled her eyes as suddenly she lost balance and held onto him, "Klaus, Klaus," she cursed and Klaus caught her. Tears were running down Cami's face as she panicked.
Klaus opened his eyes, the illusion broken as he looked at Freya. She shook her head slowly, "Lucien's blood didn't help. She is getting worse. If you can distract her a little longer…Vincent is working on something. It is smart. It may work."
"Go help him!," Klaus barked at his sister and she stood up immediately fastily stepping towards the room where Vincent was still working.
Klaus closed his eyes again, concentrating on the Quarter.
"I am going to die tonight, aren't I?," Cami asked him and Klaus shook his head.
"Even if you are. It won't be forever. Do you hear me? I am going to find a way to bring you back, I will do anything in my power…"
Cami looked around, her eyes catching a painter whose essence flickered as Klaus' emotions ran high. "The painter…the music…the crowd," she turned towards Klaus who had helped her to sit down on the side of the fountain, "You remember every detail. I must have made an impression."
"You know very well that you did," Klaus said and took her face into his hands, "Can you hold on for me for just a little longer? Please Cami."
Camille slowly nodded, "Yes I will."
"Of course," Klaus smiled, "You are a fighter, aren't you? Even as a human, barely anything could scare you. Not me, not my siblings, not Marcel. You were brave although you knew exactly what we were."
"I was your stenographer," Camille chuckled and Klaus smiled.
"You should have published my autobiography and earned millions from it."
The second Klaus heard the car pull up the illusion broke again and he opened his eyes. The plan to take Camille on a date in his mind illusion had formed in a desperate attempt to spend some time with her, in case nothing worked. Even he was slowly starting to wonder if they'd ever find the cure. But he also knew that he could not think like that. Camille had promised him to hold on for a little longer and he had promised to save her. If she was able to keep her promise then so was he.
"Lucien said that there is no way of saving her," he informed Hayley and Elijah who entered the room, carrying a confused looking Hope in their arms. Klaus couldn't smile at the sight of his daughter or pay her more attention than a quick kiss on her hand and he just shook his head.
Freya stormed into the room, "Vincent is almost ready, but Camille's essence is weakening, you need to keep her occupied!," she demanded
"How am I supposed to do that?!," Klaus screamed frustrated.
"Make her cry! Make her want to live. If she doesn't want to die, every essence in her body will fight!"
Klaus closed his eyes and sat next to Cami, gripping her hand tightly.
"I am going to die," Cami whispered. Darkness had fallen over New Orleans and Klaus quickly switched it to a bright sunshine. He shook his head
"Cami please. Give me ten more minutes. Vincent found a way. He just needs you to hold on," he said and made her walk beside him, despite her weakening with every second step.
Cami sank down onto the pavement, against the fountain.
"Klaus you have people who love you. You need to remember-," she started but Klaus pulled her up, despite his aggressiveness he was still so careful. Even in the imagination he made sure not to hurt her.
"No. You are not starting with your goodbye monologue! Do you hear me?! You will keep walking, you will keep fighting, because you can! You promised me Camille! I found a cure so I kept my promise. You will keep yours, do you hear me?!," he almost shouted.
"Klaus!", Vincent's voice pulled him out of the illusion. He was holding a vial in his hand.
"What is that?," Klaus demanded
"Guess," Vincent said dryly.
"Are you joking? Tell me what it is or lose your head!," Klaus hissed and Hayley rolled her eyes. Elijah took the vial into his hand, turning it between his fingers, inspecting it. Realisation started to dawn on his face and he shook his head slowly. Vincent quickly snatched it away from him, handing it over to Klaus.
"I extracted the serum right out of Aurora's heart," he said. His voice should have sounded triumphantly but it didn't. Not at all. It sounded more like he was scared of what everyone else was going to think, almost as if even for him it was a big deal to openly tell the Mikaelson's that he was owning the serum that was able to kill them.
"Great, you wasted your time," Hayley sighed.
"No," Elijah and Klaus cut in at the same time.
"If Camille drinks that and then dies…she'll be healed," Klaus said, staring at the serum in his hands.
"Niklaus," Elijah interrupted and seized Klaus' arm, "She will also wake up as an upgraded Original."
"We really need a cooler word for that," Hayley sighed and shook her head, while Klaus looked at Elijah.
"Do I look as if I care?," Klaus barked at Elijah, trying to get past him to Camille. His voice was so dark that it would have sent anyone else running. But not his brother. Elijah shook his head slowly but did not step back.
"What did I miss?," Marcel asked as he walked through the door.
"Klaus, her heart is getting weaker," Freya warned and Klaus turned to her, "She only has a few minutes left."
"Niklaus, she has gone off the rails before, when she became a normal vampire, or do I have to remind you that she is the only reason that this serum even exists?," Elijah snapped, putting himself between Klaus and Camille even more obviously.
"Step out of my way," Klaus commanded, lifting his head.
"Niklaus, I am serious, what if you two have another quarrel and she gets reminded of the fact that she hates you-," Elijah started but he was unable to finish the sentence. Without another word Klaus lunged at his brother, sinking his fangs into his neck.
Elijah growled angrily, trying to get Klaus away from him, but Klaus had already let go, pushing the weakened Elijah into Marcel who helped him sit down. Hayley lifted her hand to cover Hope's eyes who was now starting to cry, even more confused about what was happening.
Klaus wanted to say something to Elijah but he noticed Camille starting to shake more, so he quickly grabbed her and shook her until she managed to open one of her eyes.
"Klaus?," she mumbled, completely gone, "The Quarter went dark again…I tried to keep walking, but I couldn't. You promised me this date, please…"
"Camille, you need to drink this, I have the cure. Your cure," he whispered and shushed her while sitting her up.
Cami was clearly not listening. Hayley pressed the crying Hope into Freya's arms and sat next to Klaus, opening Camille's mouth for him. Klaus poured the serum past her lips without a second thought and closed his eyes.
"Swallow it," he commanded and gave Hayley a sign. They both pressed into Camille's head, forcing her to use the last of her energy to swallow it all, "Swallow," he repeated.
"Well, bet it's not the first time he said that," Vincent commented with a small smirk. He was a little proud of extracting the serum. Klaus stared at him, Elijah stared at him. Hayley stared at him. Even Marcel stared at him. Freya did not understand the joke.
"Not the time man," Marcel said dryly.
"Okay sorry, wrong audience," Vincent admitted and lifted his hands.
"Sweetheart, this is only going to hurt very shortly, alright?," Klaus whispered as he held Cami against his chest. Hayley picked Hope back up, calming the crying child.
Elijah was sitting on the chair, his eyes glassy as he watched Klaus, with a small shake of his head
"Hm?," Cami asked, in the same moment Klaus closed his eyes and snapped her neck. Camille fell against Klaus and Marcel inhaled sharply.
"A lot more merciful than letting the bite do the job," Klaus said as he kissed Cami's hair once again, before laying her down, putting the blanket up to her shoulders. She was so impossibly cold.
He stood up slowly and walked towards Elijah, looking at his older brother.
"Did my bite hurt you?," he asked. Elijah didn't say anything, he just kept eye contact with Klaus, "Answer me," Klaus hissed.
"Yes, Niklaus. It hurt." Elijah gave back, sounding annoyed.
"Then imagine how she was feeling. The bite of an upgraded Original…impossible to imagine. Isn't it?," Klaus asked sarcastically, "Do you really think that it is the worst idea to have one of them on our side?"
Elijah turned his head away, "I am happy for you that she is not dead," he said instead of an answer. Klaus didn't push him further. Instead he looked between Camille, Marcel, Vincent, Freya, Hayley and his daughter.
His first instinct was to take his daughter into his arms and hold her tightly, but he shook his head. Instead he looked at Marcel remembering somthing.
"Davina called earlier. She sounded distressed. You might want to look after her," Klaus told him, before looking back at Elijah.
"If this works. I owe every single one of you something, no matter what it is," Klaus looked at Elijah and wordlessly held out his wrist. Elijah stood up carefully, stammering towards him before taking it and pushing his fangs in, letting Klaus' blood run down his throat.
"If she becomes a risk…"
"Do not act as if it is her fault alone that the serum was made. Lucien worked for years on it and sooner or later one of us would have made a mistake and given him his final piece," Klaus hissed.
"Let me finish. I said that if she becomes a risk it was worth it. You were right, Niklaus. We are losing people left and right. I am glad you could save her," his gaze wandered to Hayley for a second and the tension in the room turned a little awkward. Marcel tried to call Davina for the seventh time.
"Davina is not answering. Something must have happened," Marcel said and left the compound with vampire speed.
Klaus sat back down at the bed and closed his eyes, taking Cami's hand into his own, "And now we wait. We might want to talk about a way to kill Lucien.
-
The morning sun was already falling through the windows, when Klaus heard Hope crying for food and Elijah had fully recovered. Freya had fallen asleep in a chair and he had manoeuvred her on the couch. Hayley had slept next to Hope and Klaus had stayed right here the entire night.
"It didn't work," Klaus whispered and stood up looking at his brother, "But good speech."
"Klaus?," Camille's voice suddenly whimpered. Klaus turned around, Camille was sitting on the bed, red veins rippling around red eyes, her body trembling despite the three extra blankets Klaus had put on her.
"I am here, love," Klaus said immediately, taking her hand into his. The red eyes disappeared and she leaned over to hug him tightly. Klaus held her in his arms as if she was the most precious thing in the world. Because at that moment she certainly was. He let go of her and inspected her arm, the bite mark completely gone.
Camille laughed unbelieving, her face seemed to glow in a way Klaus had not seen in a long time, "Oh my god you did it. All of you did it," she said and looked around. Freya was slowly waking up and Hayley entered with a happy and giddy Hope in her arms.
Camille hugged Klaus, then ran to Freya, then to Hayley and Hope. Even Elijah came into her hugging radius. He tensed a little, looking guilty but then he patted her back, "I am glad that you are back."
"Was it Hope's blood in the end?," Cami asked and Klaus looked away.
"Let's take a walk in the quarter, shall we?," he asked and took her hand. Camille looked around.
"Klaus will you tell me why everyone is staring at me as if I killed someone?," she asked but still took her jacket from him.
"Just walk with me, please," he said and took her hand. Before he could leave the room he turned towards Vincent, who had gotten a blanket and the couch next to Freya.
"I was serious earlier. If you need anything…," he didn't finish the sentence. Vincent inclined his head and Cami smiled at him.
Klaus led her down the main road right into the French Quarter. It was louder than in his illusion but he didn't mind.
-
At the Mikaelson compound Marcel and Kol stormed into the main hall, Davina full of blood in Marcel's arms. Kol was crying and Marcel looked helplessly at Freya and Vincent.
"How is Camille? I have your next job already," Marcel said. Kol's face was buried in Davina's neck as he cried and begged her to come back to life. But uselessly. As if he hadn't spent the entire night doing exactly that.
"Move," Freya commanded, pushing him aside, "What took you so long?," she asked Marcel, "You left about seven hours ago."
"He had to beat me up, before we could save her," Kol mumbled and Marcel threw him a deadly glance. Elijah rubbed Kol's back like he used to do when he was still a little boy.
"This is New Orleans, witches come back all the time, can you save h-," Marcel started and Freya glared at him.
"If you will shut up for five seconds, yes I shall try," she hissed.
"Camille is alive," Hayley answered Marcel's earlier question, "She is taking a walk with Klaus." Marcel closed his eyes thanking every god he does not believe in and nodded.
-
"This is just as beautiful as in your imagination," Cami said with a smile and let go of Klaus' hand as she ran through the Quarter. She has not felt this kind of relief in a very long time. Klaus smiled brightly, taking her hand back.
He remembered how broken she had been after she had become a vampire. He did not notice any of that now. She just looked happy. He caught up with her, taking her face in between his hands, before leading her further down the road.
"Soo…Sweden?," he joked and Camille laughed.
"Not before you tell me why everyone looked at me weirdly when I asked how you saved me," she said and smirked, hugging him tightly. She felt overly excited, the power that she had felt when she had become a vampire seemed to have tripled. She had no idea why but she felt as if she was able to take on anything or anyone.
"Well…Vincent had a very uncommon idea to save you," Klaus said carefully, "He extracted the serum out of Aurora's heart. It was what Hayley and I made you swallow. You are an upgraded Original now. Like Lucien."
Cami stared at him and her smile disappeared. Klaus expected her to run, to scream, to discuss but instead she just nodded slowly, "Hm. That's why I feel so strong. Does that mean Lucien is unable to hurt me?"
Klaus nodded, "Yes. But you now have the power to kill me and my entire family with one bite."
Camille smiled and pulled him to the Jackson Square fountain where she had almost died earlier and looked up at him.
"I love you Klaus," she whispered, standing on her tiptoes to whisper it into his ear, "And I have already told you that twice. So it must be the truth. I am never going to hurt you or your family. Do you hear me? You promised me to protect me Always and Forever so I am giving you that promise back. All I want to do is kick Lucien's ass."
Klaus laughed and sat down next to the fountain, where he hugged her tighter than he had ever hugged anyone before, "I love you too Camille," Klaus admitted honestly, "And I am sorry that it took me so long until I told you."
He softly took her face into his hands and kissed her. Their lips met and all the tension that had been forming in Klaus' body the past day immediately fell off. His face softened and he closed his eyes allowing himself to enjoy the moment. He did not know how to kill Lucien. He did not know what would become of the future. But he knew that he survived another day and so did the love of his life. They parted but Cami did not let him go far. Instead she leaned against him, listening to his blood rushing through his body and smiled, as he cradled her tightly.
Klaus knew that he loved her and that she loved him. And that was the most powerful gift he could have ever gotten.
Great now I am working with the script of that episode and it made me cry again. Anyways I finished the first draft today sooo I am not making promises but this week seems realistic suddenly?
