Should be sleeping but just thinking about Juliette and Trubel things for the millionth like their relationship is so weird and sad and I have lots and lots of headcanons so I’m just gonna dump stuff here until im satisfied

Juliette still has no idea that the reason Trubel didn’t say goodbye to her the first time was because of how painful it was for her to leave Juliette SPECIFICALLY like Juliette has no clue how much she impacted Trubel on such a different level than Nick did

Like Trubel absolutely loves and prioritizes Nick it’s unquestionable but I don’t think the type of relationship she has to Nick is comparable to the type of relationship she has with Juliette (especially post canon) and Trubel has such a specific special place in her heart for Juliette and Juliette has no idea and is just wracked with self loathing and such a “whats done is done” mindset at the ending that she probably doesn’t even let herself consider how much Trubel sees her as just as much an important piece of her family as Nick.

Trubel even says in the comics “YOU and NICK are the closest thing i’ve ever had to family” like the idea of Trubel not even considering comparing the two but Juliette assuming that she’ll always be second to Nick is so LEJFJNSD

And its SO FUCKED UPPP because Juliette’s walls being up in this way is the same kind of mindset Trubel had when they first met her

I think that Juliette connecting with Trubel so closely (as another woman especially) really stuck with her and was so important to Trubel in a lot of ways, a very big sister energy that was probably so special and irreplaceable for her.

Just little things like that scene of Trubel being all doom and gloom and very buried in her own insecurities and Juliette just kinda goes “okay cool so anyways you need clothes, we’re going shopping!” Felt like exactly what Trubel needed at the time, Nick was someone who could understand her on a very deep level but Juliette was someone who could clock her spiraling and drag her out of the darkness for a bit and help her feel normal and both of those things probably meant the world to herrr

Juliette coming out of her Eve era and Trubel being there to support her and trying to make her feel better like Juliette used to make her feel better

I think post canon Trubel probably moved in with Nick and Adalind for a little while (this is absolutely because im biased for Trubel living with Nick and I think Nick likes the idea of having as many loved ones as he can reasonably convince to live where he can watch out for them) but she flits around a lot, she can get her own place but she has her own room at Nadalind’s and she’s in and out of the city enough to not justify moving out <- Nick’s words

She probably gets closer with Adalind, they get along fine when there’s no reason for them to be beefing and I think they’d actually enjoy eachother’s kinda dry sense of humor. Adalind who spent her life being forced to mask in order to live gets to interact with “never masked a day in her life” autistic Trubel and she weirdly admires it.

One day in the spice shop Juliette seeing Nick, Adalind, and Trubel all getting along and hanging out and with the two kids there they really all just look like a family, it kinda hits her in her heart in a way that she hasn’t fully processed. She’s found her purpose and she doesn’t regret leaving anymore- but god seeing another woman, THAT other woman, being so casual and affectionate with both Nick and Trubel together reopens some unexplored feelings. It’s a confusing bitterness and guilt and longing swirling together and she just can’t handle it super well, so she leaves rather abruptly with some excuse about forgetting something outside

Trubel’s been hypersensitive to Juliette/Eve’s emotional shifts ever since s6 and follows her outside, she finds Juliette practicing some sort of spell on some flowers she’s aimlessly floating around. Juliette avoids eye contact and tries to keep a detached tone when she tells her she needed some quiet to practice. Trubel shuffles up to sit on a low branch and just says “I can be quiet”. Juliette gives her a little half smile and they both just watch the flowers float around in a comfortable silence.

In this AU, Nick is still a cop and Monroe is still a clock worker but with a dangerous secret. Nick is a Wesen of a strange nature- known to others as a Domesticated Wesen. Domesticated Wesen often don’t show signs of Wesen ancestry until later in life but in Nick’s case, he was a VERY late bloomer due to suppressants

Due to his mother (Wesen) messing around with a Grimm Hunter, the father (Grimm) dying to the Wesen Council and the mother going on a killing spree against them in revenge before vanishing - not before leaving her half- blood son to her full-blooded sister (Infamous Grimm Killer)

Marie hid Nick away as best she could, never allowing him out on fully moon nights and insisting he takes a medicine without ever disclosing what it did (scent blockers). He was lightly informed about the world they lived in but never fully allows to interact - until he ran off and joined the police force down the years , met and moved in with Juliette (human), met Rosalee (wesen) through her who continued to provide him with scent blockers, met Hank (Human) and Wu (Lycan(Aswang)) —

The first meeting with Monroe when inspecting the nearby area of the crime scene for new leads, Nick saw Monroe grabbing his mail and felt an itching and minor burning of his skin. Later on, Nick decides to sneak off-working-hours to scope out Monroe’s home for suspicious activity/behaviours only to get jumped by the Grimm

In the suddenness, Nick acts on instinct and woges out with Monroe immediately trying to deescalate the situation. Seeing a woged out Domesticated Blutbad, the Grimm invites Nick in for a brew

Knowing all the tricks, Monroe chats with Nick as they share a brew on his couch, sharing with Nick that he’s a RETIRED Grimm + a runaway from his family “business”

He spends some time talking with the younger man and answering all questions until Nick was finally relaxed enough to undo his appearance

With that Monroe sent Nick on his way only to be interrupted mid-dinner by him knocking on the door who was insistent on getting more answers for both life and the case he’s working on!

So, Monroe in his stupidness decides to take up mentoring the (cute) Blutbad by having Nick stick his head out the window and learn the differentiate scents till they can find their target —

“I can't guarantee what'll happen if I go any closer. It's too dangerous. I might be on your side. . . But there's nothing more I can do. I'm out of here—“ with this the retired Grimm leaves the scene

As time goes on, Nick continues to bother Monroe at his house and call him at all hours and in return Nick gets punished with tests to hone the Domestic Blutbad’s skills. Nicks entrusted with a special key to a trailer hidden in the woods filled to the brim with information about wesen and weapons and drugs to counter them

Nick is such a tumblr bait character like he’s a handsome morally conflicted loverboy shithead with two adopted daughters + a baby, romantic chemistry with his entire main cast, hype moments and aura, and life keeps repeatedly punching him in the face. Literally like finding a secret perfectly curated diamond in the most niche fandom ever for 2026

I think Nick and Juliette were destined to end because even before the grimm stuff he was a person who wanted a family and normal life and she was a closeted adrenaline junkie

•Ryan the guy who went crazy and convinced himself he was a grimm. I have a whole nother post about him somewhere

•JOSH. WHY DID THEY JUST DROP HIM FOREVER. Let him be like a bud-type character where he just shows up to be scared sometimes lmaoo

•Zuri and Jared, I wanted them to have more time with Hank. I was rooting for Hank/Zuri before black claw got to her and I like the idea of Hank having a little psudofamily! Hank and Jared could have paralleled Nick and Trubel it would be so cute! I headcanon that after everything Zuri went through she apologized to Hank after BC was defeated and they rekindled a friendship that eventually led into something more. I love the idea of her arc being letting go of her fear

•Idc if they count but Kelly and Marie needed a whole backstory episode for themselves

•Marie’s wesen lover Farley Kolt, I can’t believe we never got any more of him!!

•Sean’s mom

•The bees who were kindof setup to not be supporting Nick anymore and maybe be a future problem but they never came up again

•Alicia, Juliette’s close Fuchsbau friend who had escaped an abusive marriage with a klaustreich

•Hoffman That freaky prison guy who tried to help Adalind escape the royal’s dungeon?? What WAS that genuinely?? Was it an intentional trip set up by Prince Victor?? Was it some real magic that was testing her???

•Clay Pittman the Heftigauroch who was being forced to box, no plot reason tbh I just like him and have a bias for Trubel episodes and wanted to see him be able to relax and be happy

•The Wesenrein, they should’ve just repurposed them for season 5 and expanded their ideology to include the wesen supremacy stuff instead of creating ANOTHER new secret organization

•Henrietta, she was so cool and I was upset she just got fridged. I wanted to see her being a morally dubious side character again

Hc that early on Juliette insists on taking Trubel shopping but Trubel worries that she’s gonna have to try on a bunch of dresses and fem clothes in order to keep Juliette happy with her (because from foster care and living on the streets she’s used to having to appease people that take her in) but Juliette immediately takes Trubel into the mens section at a local alt store and Trubel is walking around staring at edgy hoodies and sweatpants and chokers with stars in her eyes

Juliette got a new dress up doll and she assessed the correct vibe right away my girl does NOT fuck around.

I think it would be funny if Trubel got really emo for a little bit. The heavy dark eyeliner and lipstick in her comics design is just the start let her look like a gender ambiguous advertisement for a morgue

I love “Grimms but they have their own special animal instincts and behaviors” so my concept: Grimms don’t often form a “pack” together as a species other than direct family but there are rare exceptions

Grimms are apex predators who’s young are very enticing prey to creatures lower on the hierarchy (wesen who would love to prevent a new grimm from reaching adulthood)

For this reason the normally solitary species has adapted with instincts that override territorial boundaries when it comes to younger or more vulnerable grimms, making older grimms instinctually want to take in orphaned members of their own species, kinda like how wolf packs will sometimes let in juveniles if they’re struggling

Nick meets Trubel and is overwhelmed with his animal brain going “thats baby. Bring home baby. Baby needs to eat. Baby needs to learn to hunt.” And this being part of the reason they pack bonded so fast

Monroe, as a blutbad is well versed in pack-related instincts and sees exactly what’s happening, and is marveling at the fact that Grimms DO have their own, non-human, set in behaviors like wesen do. While Hank and others find Nick’s instant attachment to Trubel to be a bit confusing but chalk it up to Nick just being a “softie” like Hank teases him about, Monroe reveals to everyone (and Nick) that his biology is probably making him a bit crazy about having another Grimm around and he’s gonna just get naturally overprotective

Reversely Trubel lets literally only lets Nick tell her what to do (sometimes) and it’s very frustrating for everyone else but like. That’s literally pack leader what do you want from her.

Nick’s a uniquely social grimm (which parallels him with the seven crusaders who formed a unprecedented 7 member pack) who’s instincts see his whole little friendgroup as part of his family and then Juliette leaves and dies and comes back but she’s not in the pack anymore but she IS and Nick will not let this go ever.

Trubel has such a hard time sticking around because as she “grows up” over the show she naturally feels right being more solitary but she loves her pack and will always come back to them at the end of the day

I also like playing around with the idea of Grimms having some sort of “hunt lock” where their brain goes full predator mode and they get like a power/efficiency boost in battle or hunts maybe but at the cost of their humanity and reasoning for the time they’re in it
