HOW IT FEELS TO SHIFT AWAKE

(coming from a procrastinator that often gets bored during attempts and STILL shifts anyway)

HI SHIFTBLR! I'm back with a big post.

So, I've been on tiktok lately and i've been seeing a lot a lot a LOT of people talking about how to awake shift and it really inspired me to speak on my experience because i don't really see that many people share their awake shifting experiences in detail.

Just for context, I use my own method to awake shift. It's fairly easy. All it takes is patience and some free time, that's all.

There's this girl on tiktok named Kas who PERFECTLY encapsulated my METHOD in a video but in way better words. She defined shifting as DISCONNECTION, IDENTIFICATION, AND RECONNECTION! That is exactly it! Most people get stuck on Disconnection and give up. I often get really bored before this part but trust me that's just your ego trying to stop you! Don't ever listen! You could live your dream life rn babes why would you quit?!?

So, THIS IS HOW IT FEELS TO SHIFT WHILE AWAKE:

I meditate by breathing in like 2-5 times, sometimes i do it for longer but i find that if i do it for too long, i end up falling asleep. This step is important but it shouldn't be overdone because your body isn't even needed to shift.

i immediately start on DISCONNECTION. I tell myself "I am disconnected from my current reality. I am not this body / vessel" until i start to feel a little floaty.

After feeling floaty, i'm still feeling connected to my CR but i kinda ignore it and just skip straight to connecting to my DR SELF via identity affirmations.

Usually at this point i start to visualize where i'll wake up and sometimes i get so deep in it that i dont even have to do CONNECTION because i'll start hearing stuff from my DR or feeling stuff. Like if i'm petting my cat, i'll subtly feel her fur but like in my CR if that makes sense?? It's like i can FEEL it as my DR self but my CR self is feeling the sensations. I actually hate this because it feels like a game of cat n fucking mouse. Like whats the point of that "phantom" ass feeling? Just shift and feel it for real lmaoo!!

I'm going to try to explain this as best i can: When I shift while awake, it's lik the reality fades in. Like, I'm in my CR doing affs, and then all of a sudden i'm in my DR. . . there is no distinction of travel between the two. i'm just here one moment and then the next im in my DR. I can never predict the exact moment because it just happens and im not even really paying attention when it does. I just notice that i'm there, yk?

lately i've been getting bored after the feelings stop, so i just kinda give up :/ but i still hear stuff from my DR so i count that as a partial shift, aka shifting regardless!!!

ways i am dealing with quantum immortality

reconsuming my fav nolstalgic media (whether thats fanfics, tv shows, movies, etc) and i scripted that rewatching them will have the same vibe as it did back when i first consumed them

creating; i will forever be creating things in my drs (whether thats art projects or writing books); i will always have something to invent and innovate

i will be scripting/shifting to SO MANY DRS! i have so many different drs for different reasons (from shifting to my fav tv shows to shifting to experience living in bloxburg for a day); i will always have somewhere to shift to and once i shift to everything on my list, i will either shift to re-experience my drs, get the lifa app to generate me new dr ideas or get desired reality ideas from my desired realities; i am an explorer at heart and shifting is my oxygen

i feel like a reason why alot of people struggle with the concept of immortality is because they see it from a future perspective rather than a present pov; so i will try to be more present and observe; after all, i could never get tired of exsisting (especially since i am shifting to alot of different artstyles, time eras, plots, etc)

i will be a storyteller; i will always have so many storytimes to say; i will take pride in my adventures exploring different corners of the multiverse and shall have fun doing so

i can do whatever i want and won't have to worry about running out of time or ageing; i can sleep for however long i want, be lazy for however long i want, i can get back to my hobbies/interests without worrying about the regrets of "wasting time" and without worrying about the punishments of stuff like not working (since i will have unlimited funds)

as well as being a creator, i strive to be a consumer; there is still so many shows, books, music, etc i haven't seen/consumed because i haven't come across them or they simply don't exist in this reality; my lifa app will contain my very own letterbox where i can rate and ramble about different media i am yet to indulge in

Urban Legend DR - urban fantasy dr. Look up mossysocks on tiktok. Literally just that but as a dr. Fight monsters, skip classes, be a cool asf teen idk. Also inspired by Percy Jackson, kinda.

Hearsay DR - me and my friends started a romantic goth rock garage band, it gets really popular, and next thing you know we're having interviews with actual celebrities. Crazy. (We meet the members of MCR also)

Fairy DR - inspired by the lovely work of @reverieshifts & @lalalian. You guys are so cool. This DR's probably my most wholesome one aswell lol.

Hogwarts DR - but w better worldbuilding bc fuck jk actually

The Magnus Restoration Unit - like the magnus archives, but i have to fix broken artifacts. Will this end well for me? I mean depends what you mean by "well"

Mystralyn DR - one of my most worldbuilding heavy ones. Actually kind of abbandoned, but im still very fond of it

X-men DR - look i just think mutants are rlly cool, ok? Also Peter's actually a mutant in this DR, (the bite just kickstarted his healing factor, which led to... all his other powers.)

Mer DR - me and cass (my s/o) are mer, Mike's a selkie. (Is this also based on a fanfic? Yes. Yes it is. "Blue is the Water (that beckons, that buries)", for anyone curious! I have read this fic a minimum of 5 times now, which is alot bc it's so long oh my gods)

Pandora DR - idk man. I like the language, & i think the Tlalim are neat.

Cyberpunk DR - well really, it's more of a futuristic one, but... anyways it's not as much of a dystopia as traditional cyberpunk either. I just wants augments man. And like, VR that's actually good.

CHB - i like CHB (im a child of Morpheus btw!! Was a tie between dyonisus, apollo, & hypnos. Settled on Morpheus.)

Better CR DR - uhh idk i just really miss my friends (Cass & Mike)

The Folk of the Air DR - yeah tfota had an impact on me as a youth (it's based mostly on The Darkest Part of the Forest, but i diggress)

Also! Important! Since i do smoke, vape, & drink (in almost every reality except this one, actually) uhhhhhh alcohol/drugs have no averse effects on your body, and arent addicting.

since today, tomorrow for some of others, is pride month I wish all of you a happy pride month!!!

for those who are unaware : i am non binary and bisexual. though i write most posts in third person and using she/her pronouns, that does not change the fact i use they/them pronouns. to those being aware of my pronouns but still choosing to misgender me: i kindly tell you to go fuck yourself. i am a proud to be non binary. and even though I may primarily post about my male s/o’s, does not mean that i love rohanne, jocelyn, medea any less.

as a queer person, i am happy to have been welcomed so openly by the shifting community. it felt like a warm, toasty, hug. i am glad that queer shifters are able to express their love for their significant others without the fear of judgement. i think love is a wonderful thing, it comes in all forms and it is beautiful. i am glad that trans shifters are accepted with open arms by the community. i am happy knowing that there are realities out there where we can live without discrimination — without being mistreated for our pronouns or who we love. love is love — it’s beautiful and amazing.

i am glad to be a big blog , who is part of the lgbtq+ community. i am glad to represent a part of the community through easyboyrecliner.

Ever had that happen you sit down to write a fanfic based on a book, but while plotting you get so carried away that you end up with not a fanfic, but a full-fledged original retelling of an old ballad and one of your OCs suddenly changes their name and backstory?
