The story of how Piers ended up married
Almost three years ago, Chris took our Core, Piers, on a first date for his 19th birthday. The date was supposed to be a movie at the cinema. It was on a Friday evening, the movie was supposed to be Boss Baby.
They took a cab to the cinema, but ended up dropped at the wrong one, which was closed for the weekend, and only realized it after the cab has left. They only had enough money for a cab back home and the movie tickets, so the two had to walk all the way to the correct cinema.
At the beginning, they ended up on the highway on the road to nowhere, and it’s dark outside alright. Full-blown night. So they do a turn and walk blindly the opposite way hoping that google maps wouldn’t betray them.
The entire walk was made of the stuff of nightmares. Chris and Piers were on a walk that was assumed to be one hour long on foot, but considering they’re both disabled, they knew it would end up longer, and that they would miss the movie. They also noticed vehicles getting dangerously close to the sidewalk where they were, and some tailing them and circling the areas.
At some point, Chris even gave Piers his phone and said “Call the police if I need to fight them off” and Piers just snorted and said “Bitch if they mess with me right now I’ll eat them alive”. Chris wasn’t impressed in the least.
Later on that walk, around an hour in, Piers used his MP to listen to music so he wouldn’t be completely paranoid. The songs helped, but he could physically feel his legs giving in on themselves. Again; they were relying on an app to bring them to the cinema and they were determined to watch a movie that day rather than give up and take a cab home.
Chris was consumed by guilt and was borderline crying the entire time, while Piers was excited that something went wrong and he got a prolonged date time with Chris. Go figure.
They noticed the cinema after an entire one hour and 40 minutes, and Piers started whisper-screaming the lyrics of the song he was listening to at the time, victorious. He could barely walk at that point, limping in both legs, but he was determined to watch a movie, damn it.
Walking between the closed store-paths in the shopping center and parking lot, leading to the cinema, Chris whispered to Piers to walk faster because someone suspicious was tailing them. Piers again replied with sarcasm which very quickly Chris realized was serious. “Nothing in the world will make me run right now. If he tried to mug me he’ll be the one running away.” Brave but highkey stupid, Piers. You’re 5″4. 66lbs.
When they reached the cinema, finally they had to settle on another movie for obvious reasons. They sat down watching Fast and Furious 6, resting for an hour and a half, and then leaving with a cab back home.
Piers said it was the best night of his life, even after all this time.
And two days ago, at the 18th of January, he and Chris have married.
